So that's where the budget for the meth sequence came from!

Awesome.

I'm not surprised he worked on Six Feet Under, that show also had some killer music.

Anytime Jesse feels the need to say, "Yo," and "Bitch," I get really excited about it. And "Yo" has definitely come into my day-to-day existence.

LOL

I absolutely HATED Jesse during the first season, and that kind of made me think Aaron Paul was a crappy actor. But by the end of the second he was one of my favorite characters, and now he pretty much holds that spot. And obviously I've come around on Paul - he's been amazing.

Actually, I kind of feel the same way about Hank. I love how he's always been a loud mouth but if you really pay attention (and if you watch every episode 8 times like I do) you'll see that he's been a pretty good cop the whole time, even with Walt hiding right under his nose.

Yeah I wonder how big of a role he'll have. He already broke the rule about not talking to Walt and Jesse.

I hear you on Hank. I wonder if he'll eventually find out about Walt, and will be faced with the decision of taking him down or not.

I was hoping Tyra showed up!

But that was a awesome ending and the set up in the beginning for the ending was great too. I was thinking what does this kid have to do with the pilot.

Going back one other episode when Walt and Walt JR bought those cars it was awesome when they were playing the music and switching the camera between the two cars.

It felt too much like a Chrysler commercial to me, especially since the very next commercial actually was for the 300.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

Another great episode last night.

I don't normal ever laugh out loud when watching something but last night when Jesse was drinking his water while Skylar was saying she had cheated on Walt that was just great. That whole dinner scene was awesome!

Also I had totally forgot Walter had that opportunity to be part of that company. I remember him now going to that guy's house for a dinner party and Skylar asking for money from them. I think the regret of that is a major driver for Walt now; funny how Jesse said big deal you are Meth Emperor; you can tell he wants out so bad.

MTK 08-20-2012 11:26 AM

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

The dinner scene was great, so awkwardly hilarious.

Walt passing up $5M is nuts. He could have his kids back and get out of the game. It's clear at this point that he's gone over the deep end. He's consumed with the power. Amazing how his character isn't even likable anymore. In all the prior seasons even when he was doing wacked out stuff you could still find a small reason to keep rooting for him. Not anymore.

He is consumed with the pennies on a dollar thought. Basically the deal he did 20 some odd years ago selling his share for $5k, a regret he has never let go.

You are right about transformation. To think back when he was teaching class and hiding his cell in the ceiling to what he is now is crazy!

I wonder if he ever starts dipping into his supply; that might be the end of him. I am more the certain he will die before this over.

What if Walt JR. gets the axe? That would destroy Walt as JR. is probably the last person he has any relationship with. I doubt they kill off the baby that be to taboo.

SmootSmack 08-20-2012 12:38 PM

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

Dinner scene was the highlight of the show. Even better would have been if it were breakfast, because you know Walt Jr. would have been there. Adding to the awkwardness.

Someone in that family isn't going to survive and it will be Walt's action/inactions that allow it to happen. That's how I see the series heading. As bad as we think Walt is, I don't think we've seen the worst yet.

You pretty much nailed that one. Anyone still pulling for Walt by this point is just doing so out of protagonist obligation. The dude has lost it and Jesse needs to get as far away as possible.

But we know that's not going to happen.

Amazing episode last night.

The scene at the end was so anti-climatic in a good way. The whole scene was so peaceful looking but great a thud in your heart. Hard describe I guess but it was well played.

Interesting for sure. I don't think any possibility can be ruled out.

I have a feeling somehow things are going to "work out" in the end. Maybe not for everyone, obviously there's more bloodshed ahead, but I do feel like there will be some sort of peace at the end.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

I think one of his kids dieing is still in play. I think the biggest shock to audiences would be if Walt JR was killed. Yes killing the baby be awful but we don't as audience have that much attachment to the baby as we do Walt JR. Plus it be very taboo to kill the baby. Killing a baby is only second to killing a dog as far as horrible things a audience can see.

I think someone really close to Walt will die... it's the only thing that might snap him back into reality. I'm guessing Skyler.

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

My only criticism, if you want to call it that, is how they've transitioned to the new cook without much drama. Like, they haven't really vetted this kid. Who is he really?

Walt and Jesse know each other from way back before they were thugs, but this new kid has transitioned rather quickly without much fanfare save the little boy riding the dirt bike

Re: Breaking Bad Season 5

Interesting especially the last bit:

Pink teddy bear
The pink teddy bear as seen during the second season

A recurring motif within the second season is the image of a damaged teddy bear and its missing eye. The teddy bear first appears at the end of the music video "Fallacies" for Jesse's fake band, "TwaüghtHammër", which was released as a webisode in February 2009 leading to the second season.[30] It is seen in flashforwards during four episodes, the titles of which, when put together in order, form the following sentence: "Seven Thirty-Seven down over ABQ".[31][32][33] The flashforwards are shot in black and white, with the sole exception of the pink teddy bear, which Vince Gilligan called a homage to the film Schindler's List.[34] At the end of the season, Walter inadvertently helps cause the mid-air collision of two airliners. The pink teddy bear is then revealed to have fallen out of one of the planes and into the White family's pool. Vince Gilligan called the accident an attempt to visualize "all the terrible grief that Walt has wrought upon his loved ones" and a "judgement of God".[35]

In the first episode of the third season, Walt fishes the teddy bear out of his pool and later finds the missing eye in the pool filter. Television critic Myles McNutt has called it "a symbol of the damage [Walter] feels responsible for",[36] and The A.V. Club commented that "the pink teddy bear continues to accuse."[37] Fans and critics have compared the appearance of the teddy bear's face to the image of Gus Fring's face in the fourth season finale.[38]
