editing: POSITIVE THOUGHTS ONLY
I actually wasn't. I was being nice. It's the positives thread!
The one positive I can think of out of our game last week is...well...at least we aren't the Saints?
Well your damn bucs cost me in my elimination pool yesterday. 8 out of 10 knocked out when the pats beat the cards last week. Left me and one other. I had san fran and he had dallas. Dammit. |
Haven't those guys also played teams with good defenses?
Ehhh seattle arizona and cleveland. Cards look good but ehhh. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Brillant? Not so sure about that.
Why not? What we gave up is definitely too much, but it was only way we could get Griffin. The move was a home run or go home, luckily for us it is a home run move. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Robert Griffin III makes me proud to be a Redskins fan. So does Alfred Morris. Things are looking up for this team.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Our once great defense has become anemic. Our once anemic offense has become great. Heading into week 4, it's hard to figure out why the hell this is.

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Didn't take long for people to miss the point of this thread it seems

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Merriweather coming back.
Williams is OK - thank GOD SKins lead the league in points - God that feels good to say. We have been in every game. We will learn how to win these shoot outs. We will learn how to win these shoot outs before the post season is out of reach. Garcon will be back (i hope) Thats all I got. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
You're coming to Tampa! Our stadium has no noise! It's very peaceful! It's like a home game for you guys.... only not! Yeeeeah!
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
This has to be one of our own playing games with us.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
If it's not, he better start contributing something of value. I enjoy a good troll myself, but this is a little stupid. LOL.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Anyway...HUGE positives from this week:
*No blocked punts...Rocca can pin a team back when allowed to get the kick off. *Another defensive TD! *Jackson and Wilson might just be able to suffice in replacing Orakpo *Alfred Morris just keeps going...he's no fluke. I noticed he never gets taken down by the first defender that hits him. *Cundiff is money inside 62 yards. :D |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
someone may have mentioned this, but i just caught it - we're the highest scoring offense in the nfl w 99 points. ravens holding i95 down, in 2nd place w 98.
we're on pace to finish just ahead of the 98 vikings, and just behind the 07 patriots. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
RG3 and Morris

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
I can't remember watching a qb in a Redskins uniform play the way RG3 does.
Plus Kerrigan is still a beast too. No blocked punts or field goals the entire game! Alfred Morris looks like a keeper. |
We should change the name of this thread to "the therapy thread".
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
RGIII should be enough for any Skins fan to see a start of hope.
It's been a long time since the Skins have been this close to good. Almost there, it's coming! |

I love the kid. But it's still way too early to say if this was a home run trade or not. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Theres a lot of positives!
We have a franchise QB! He's still healthy! We no longer have to hear about the whole suck for luck thing because we got our franchise QB! Our draft picks are looking good! The offense is great, is getting a lot of yards and points. Our defense will be improved next year and hopefully will be on the same track as our offense! We are competitive! No blow outs yet! We have depth at some of our strong positions (OLB, DL)!! Kyle Shanahan is looking like a good coach!! Avengers comes out on DVD tomorrow!! Exclamation marks!!!! |

RGIII will keep us in nearly every game. He's the main reason to have faith in the future.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
we're probably 11th is completion % because our linebackers are actually playing pretty well and stopping some of the short stuff. so i guess we were right when we said the secondary would be a huge concern.
so, for my positives: RGIII. |

Honestly the only way this isn't is the one word which everybody wants to speak, but I shall not speak. To have a rookie qb with a qb rating of 103 after 3 games is frickin unheard of. Say what you will about the option, but he has made every throw, short, lateral, mid level, and deep. In training camp people were worried about bounce passes, or inaccurate deep balls, but his throw to Garcon in the opener was perfect, and he has had a couple other deep balls that hit the receivers in full stride. He hasn't locked on to one receiver, instead he has hit TE's, WR's, RB's. And Finally, and this is the most important thing. He is not a finished product. What we are seeing is close to his floor. Maybe he regresses if the option safety net is pulled away, but, clearly the speed of the game is clicking for him, and in terms of hits, he's not the most hit, or least hit, and he understands the hits are a part of the game. You don't see a Blaine Gabbert fear of hits. Who knows how high his ceiling is!!! |
If Shanny would have started Beck to begin with we would have gotten Luck!! lol
I would hope he would have taken rg3 and think he would have even with the first pick. I remember being nervous the colts were going to change their minds rite up until i heard their pick. |

Man, now I'm negative, what if we had sucked for Luck, gotten the 1st overall, then traded down with Indy and still gotten Griffin, but picked up an extra 2nd. I'm so down now. ugh. |

Fair enough. I didn't mean to make this unhappy. I believe that Perry Riley is coming of age in a good way. He's a Skins hero in the making. |

Of course if we had sucked for luck (or griff) we would still have our number two and two more ones. Uggh. Now im depressed too. Lol. Those dumb wins are making me sad. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
These losses are far more entertaining than knowing the game is over when down by more than a score, as was the case last year. RG3 gives us hope, which is something we haven't had in a long time.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Seems like the Shanahans want to play Cousins, because they're going to get Griffin killed.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
RGIII is the Truth HTTR
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Reading alot of threads about RGIII getting hurt. News flash this is the NFL players get hurt. This is what they sign up for. RGIII is young, smart , tough and is a baller . You cant hold him down because he is the Truth. I cannot wait to get P. Garçon back which improves our offense and gives RGIII another big play threat. The defense will get better mark it down. Remember the Bengals made the playoffs last year they are not bums. HTTR

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
Seems like the Shanahans want to play Cousins, because they're going to get Griffin killed.
I dont know any quarterback in the league that doesnt get killed on a weekly basis. I watched Tom Brady in the first superbowl against the giants get planted into the ground on the biggest stage like i have never seen anyone get planted into the ground. I watch J Cutler and Michael Vick get Destroyed every time they play practically. I watched Aaron Rodgers get killed tonite and on many occasions. people think because RG3 runs that his hits are worse - i dont know - the worst hit to me that could occur is when your standing in the pocket and get blindsided and that wont happen often with a mobile qb like RG-3. any qb can have his career/season/game ended at any time - RG-3 is at no more a risk than any other qb playing the game today. He also knows when to throw it away, run out of bounds, and slide for the most part - unlike Mike Vick - that is why Vick gets hurt all the time. Hes a tough kid too - everyone is different - look at Eli - its not like he isnt getting hit hard - hes just a tough kid and has had alot of luck on his side when it comes to the injury bug - we will see how RG-3s body cooperates with him as his career moves on, but as far as being mentally tough enough to handle the hits i think he has already proved he has that. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
The positive thing I see, besides RGIII and Rob Jackson stepping up, after tonight's Monday debacle and weekend games a settlement with officials will occur this week ( it has to happen).
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
London Fletcher being the quarterback of the defense. RG3 operating the offense. Garcon, although he's been out and Alfred Morris bulldozing for chunks of yardage. Rob Jackson, Ryan Kerrigan, and Perry Riley have been playing very hard on defense.
|
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
I think there are a lot of positives. Front 7, Alfred Morris, RG3, DHall is playing with a fire.
Cinci is for real. They were in the playoffs last year and don't be surprised to see them win their division. |
Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?
It was a loss to an AFC team?
