Skins 42 birds 17. Defense shows flashes of the last 3 years and comes up big, Chris Wilson breaks out and D hall gets a pick 6. Matt Ryan looks like he's in a playoff game and chokes.

The Falcons are 18th in the NFL against the run. The Redskins are 3rd in the NFL in total offense and 2nd in rushing offense. Expect RG3, Alfred Morris and maybe Ryan Grant to run all over Atlanta's defense. Now, if the defense would only do their part......

We should change these predictions threads to "If the Skins are to win, the game will go something like..." threads. lol.

Anyways, I think we can win if we get nice, long drives down the field. Keep ATL's O off the field. Almo, RG3 & the run game need to dominate and nothing short of that. Keep the clock moving, the less times they touch the ball the better. On defense if we get a good consistent push up the middle all game long, fluster Matty Ice a little bit, and prevent big plays at all costs we might find ourselves a pleasant little victory...

...not counting on it though.

BTW, this game is rather hopeless for us unless we can control the clock for 35+ minutes, and RG3 performs like superman.

I just see a huge blowout this game, with our secondary getting absolutely chewed by White, Gonzo and Jones, with Michael Turner basically having his way once the threat of the long pass has been established. Sad, but IMO true. This is the game where getting behind early instead of up early forces RG3 into some bad spots, and as a rookie, he is entitled to some of those, especially with our defense. He ends up trying to do too much, and has a pick and a fumble in the second half. Secondary gets completely busted wide open this game.

I don't like this game at all. As a matter of fact, because the Skins and the league looks at things in quarters (4 games at a time) I don't like this whole month for that matter. Falcons, Vikings, Giants, Steelers in the month of October. Man I would take 2-2 again for this month and move on. The Redskins may not win a game this whole month if they don't get their secondary worked out. Everyone of these next 4 teams can pass. Secondary needs to get healthy in a hurry and "man up".

For the forseeable future our offense is going to be our best defense.

Run the ball all over their weak run defense and hit play action for chunk yardage.
Control the time of possession and limit Matty 'ice'.
Don't give them any cheap quick scores make work to move the ball down the field.
Limit penalties, win the turnover battle, win in special teams.

The Falcons squeeked on by last week while giving us the medicine of how to beat them. Run, run, run, control the clock, don't give their offense time with the ball very similar to what we did with the Saints. RG3 might have to go back to taking more risks then last weeks game with his runs and 3rd Option plays.

We have the means to stop the run, which will cause the Falcons to throw... I just hope they have an answer for the pass. Tampa was dumb founded the first half then they adjusted and started moving the ball and almost won the game. We can't have a second half melt down again.

Their defense is not very bad either. They have been able to curtail the big passing plays cause they have a really good secondary. But their run stopping is not that good. This is where we need to step up and run the ball all day, have RG3 take a few runs (safe runs) with a slide, then throw in some roll outs and fakes with him tossing up his hands at the last minute so the defenders can't hit him like last week. ;)

I was trying to pull stats off my iphone and i dont know what the hell i was shown. Anyway - im predicting a big win but it has nothing to do with our defense. We all want to say we have a good run d and were going to force them to pass. First of all that is probably not a good thing - i know i shut my eyes everytime the other team throws. We have faced four teams ranked

In rushing.
St louis ranked 20th absolutely gashed us for 170 yards and new orleans only ran ten times on us. So in one game our run d wasnt really tested and in one it was gashed. We have only played four. Our D has alot of work ahead of them. We win solely based on RG 3 and the twelfth man.
Our run d ranking is makes us look good because of yards allowed. We actually are in the bottom third if u look at yards per carry. Teams just dont run alot on us because they realize how easy it is to throw.

Hmmm, last time I was in Atlanta for a conference was when we played Green Bay and stole that one. Heading to ATL on Sunday morning for the same conference...
