After losing FL Romney might have to self-deport to Utah.

GOP needs to learn they are way out of touch with the public on social issues (abortion, planned parenthood, gay marriage, etc). For the election to be this close after the last 4 years of the economy dragging it's feet, it's got to be the social issues. Todd Akin getting tossed is in part an indictment on the GOP's handling of social issues.

Libertarians FTW!

Spent several minutes trying to tell this to a family member. Said my vote was wasted.

**** that. No, voting for a dumbass 2 party system is wasted. Voting for the lesser of 2 evils is wasted. Voting for the guy who reflects your ideals for the country isn't wasted.

That's a no brainer. I was shocked he won last time. Then again, people were really pissed with the Repubs back then. I'm surprised it's closer then what it is.

Very likely will be Obama winning Electoral College, and Romney winning popular vote. I wonder if all those people screaming when Gore had the popular vote will be screaming that Romney should be the president?

Bent over? No. He lost a tight close vote. In addition, Congress is essentially the same.

We are getting four more years of gridlock.

The Republican freakout on facebook is beyond stupid. People are threatening recounts.

Also heard Mittens won't concede and doesn't agree with the Ohio vote. Don't know if that's true.

Bent over is faily descriptive given the likelihood of Obama winning 315+ EVs in an election where he was said to be weak and beatable. EVs matter and Romney is getting worked.

SS33 got worked too.

It's only close in the popular vote. Electoral votes, Obama is going to end up crushing Romney.

Re: Official 2012 Election Day Thread

certain things just played out in obama's favor.

latino's could go either way, but i think some of the issues in arizona and obama's willingness to ease enforcement played against the red team. the bailouts were very popular in ohio where it mattered. the trans-vaginal ultrasound type laws also hurt the red team. alienating the poor, gays, etc. just a bad idea to push so many people away when their population is growing pretty rapidly.

I mean, i could be way off, but the reps need to go moderate, the hardliners are still going to prefer them, but they need a bigger base. unlimited money isn't enough, apparently.

skinsfaninok 11-07-2012 12:17 AM

Dream Act in Maryland, marriage equality and the casino all passed in Maryland.

Although I don't really have a feeling one way or another about the casino referendum, it feels great having voted in Maryland for Question 4 and Question 6.

So proud.
