Just finished the game on DVR and geez oh man it's nice to see a win...a win is a win is a win!!! I mean we can (rightly) point out the piss-poor play-calling on offense and penalties but regardless we won a game we should have.

Kinda feel bad for Reid no matter how bad I hate the Iggles. This is easily the worst his team has played in a decade, and like Billick said you're not going to find a better coach than Reid but he's probably had his run in Philly. Take some time and regroup. I still expect Reid will earn a ring before he retires.

Speaking of Reid, I wonder how much the death of his son has affected him this season in addition to lots of injuries mainly to the OL

Well, when you beat a team by 25, its always a good day.

Merriweather, wow. I didn't expect him to play that much today. He looked like he could be our starting SS for years. Its one game though. And people who went to training camp said he was awful, so we'll see next week (hopefully he plays)

Good to see Garcon back. All the WRs stepped up huge today.

We can all be positive for a week now

Wow. What a game. When was the last time the Skins beat a divisional opponent by at least 25 points? I imagine we'd have to go back more than ten years.

Re: Skins 31 Eagles 6

Of course playing a rookie QB with a very suspect O-Line was definitely a big part of the equation, I think the addition of Merriweather really gave this defense a huge spark. He played lights out in my opinion, against the run and the pass. Hopefully his injury is not something that will keep him out for an extended period of time. And I think the offense will only progress as Garcon gets more reps again. Here's to a second half with no injuries, and keep this thing going in Big D...

The second Dallas game in 2005 was a 25+ point victory (and one of my favorite all-time Redskins wins). But that might be it in the last ten years. We've no doubt been on the receiving end of divisional blowouts during that span, so it is indeed nice to give a little.

He made a significant difference. Like I stated yesterday, our safety play has been horrible for several years----like worst in the league horrible----but yet people on this board seem very satisfied with Reed, Gomes or whoever.

Use yesterday as and example of solid safety play and we need to focus in the offseason in bringing in another playmaker at free safety.

MVP not named RGIII = Meriweather

He set the tone for the D. He was hitting hard, covering well, creating turnovers. It was like a completely different defense with him in there because he immediately fixed the defense's weakest position.

Thankfully his knee injury was very minor. It's reported that he could have returned to the game but they held him out to be ready for Dallas on short rest. Smart move.

RG3 is so good with the hard count I think he makes our guys jump at times. They need to work on that. Still too many dumb penalties.

Right on.

On the bright side, Gryphon's hard count is a real weapon which will reap benefits for years to come.

1) Peter King said Merriweather 'ripped up' his other knee yesterday; Whats the latest we've heard on him?

2) PK also said he talked to an NFC East Executive who was "pissed" that RG3 is in our division; and that he is not happy at all that his team has to play him for the next 15 years.

It's Kyle's fault. He was shouting the cadence from the sideline b/c he doesn't trust RGIII to call the count at the line.

Re: Skins 31 Eagles 6

Im just happy for a win. There were some things I was not happy with as far as coaching is concerned, but Im tired of that argument, neither side of the Shanny argument is going to convince the other side theyre right.
Im going to enjoy this win as much as I can look at the positives and hope to stay out of the Shanny thread.
What can you say about RG3 that hasnt been said? Hes amazing,I cant remember what pass he missed, and im sure he wishes he had that pass back he threw before halftime{all the way across field, ate too much time for no gain}but still a spectacular game.
Defense had its best game,Having Merriwether back sure looked like it helped, sure hope he can play Dallas.
Kai F with another fg without a miss, needs to work on kickoffs though
Receivers held onto ball,no drops,Moss with great catch

I know you have picked on my posts before but for crying out loud does every post you make have to defend someone by the last name of Shanahan with some over the top sarcastic remark about how they are both whipping posts for every little thing that happens bad in the world. There has to be some middle ground somewhere in your head. We are the most penalized team in the league? Those false starts yesterday at home would have had us in serious trouble if we werent playing that God awful team.

I heard it was Haslett shouting "Noonan!"* so the offense doesn't look sooooooo much better than the D.

He has responded to posts of mine a couple times that were not in direct response. The poster had asked if there was any reason for the false start penalties. I think that is a great question and one that has to be accounted fir if we are going to beat anybody besides philly for the rest of the year. It isnt nit picking - like how come we didnt score 50? It is a legitimate concern imo.

And too RG3's credit, he acknowledged that is was a bad read and Moss just made a play.

I'm not gonna jump all over him about it though, because Aaron Rodgers did the exact same thing for a TD. Just be nice to see guys making harder catches more often.

The 50 thing was a joke. That was my point - a remark like that would have deserved a "blame it on the Shannys" response. I too was hoping we could just enjoy the win today. Lol. Without the Shanny talk coming from either side. Didnt mean for my post to come across as angry as i guess it sounded. I was generally wondering why Joe Redskin - who i take for someone that is smart enough to read through the sarcasm of my post- would go there and if he did not think those penalties were an issue?

If you are a Skins fan there is not much to complain about today about the team. Soak in the home blow out win over a division rival and just plain enjoy it. I am sure the Skins will have a bad game again this year don't worry Debbie Downers.
