Re: NFC East Chances
The two games that hurt us were the Panthers and Rams games. We should have has both of those
|
The skins have also never beaten Dallas on Thanksgiving right? So all that adds up to us winning
Romo is 5-0 on Thanksgiving with a 105 QB rating. Dallas has won 5 of it's last 6
We are 0-6 vs the Girls on Turkey day. Ending this is what I want, but I honestly think we will find a way to *#%* it up in the end. |
Re: NFC East Chances
Well this is one streak that we wont have to be a part of, because I know if Dallas was 0-6 on Thanksgiving.. We wouldn't have a shot lol

And just one game after being beaten decisively by a really bad panthers team to boot.... I agree....lets just enjoy the monthly win and hope we come in 3rd place this year....but most of all...lets beat Dallas on Turkey day...it has never been done before....and if it happens...just enjoy it...don't start thinking playoffs or superbowl or something....we would be 5-6 for heavens sake Don't mean to be debbie downer...but a win against a horrible team with a rookie backup doesn't impress me...remember our defense is really bad....lets learn to enjoy watching a STAR....not the one painted on the field....the one behind center for the ....who?...can you believe it?....the REDSKINS! WE HAVE A STAR QB! That is the point of this season....lets see what he does in the first game of the Dallas/Redskins rivalry...that is what I want to see! |
Re: NFC East Chances
The Giants clearly have the toughest schedule of the three. I cannot even think about the playoffs (insert Mora face here) - but I desperately want to beat the Cowboys on Thursday and enjoy the Pack vs the Gints Sunday nite - setting up a potentially huge MNF showdown @ Fedex. The fact that we are literally one win and one Gints loss from that happening is way more than I could have expected after I kicked my dog (j/k) when we lost to Carolina.

Giants will beat Green bay. It's just what they do, they tease until it gets serious
|
And the Rams game too, actually.
and the Giants game! and the Bengals game! ****ing uggghhh. edit: - the bengals game was kind of the same thing as the Giants game except it was the first play of the game where a WR ran rite up the heart of our defense and just kept going - oh and it was a WR throwing the ball! - uggh. |

First, you live in "New Jersey". 2nd,little super bowl run, come on really? 3rd,Giants don't beat Greenbay in the regular season,at greenbay in the playoffs but not during the regular season. |
Re: NFC East Chances
Man can we at least get back to .500 before we start talking playoffs? 4-6 doesn't sound like a playoff team to me.

Thing is, Mike has been so bad, that even a very remote chance at a playoff berth has people creaming their undies. That and the thinking that this team should be 6-4 or better. We must win two more games before we even reach .500, and both are against our two biggest rivals (neither of which has a green rookie starting his first game with an Oline that looks like swiss cheese). I will temper my expectations, and refuse to catch this optimism bug. Sad to say, I think alot of people will fall hard after reality sets in, and Shanahan screws this franchise yet again. But thats not to say I wouldnt be happy with a playoff berth, but being a pessimist is good and bad. Good if you are disappointed, but bad because of the less than rosy outlook on everything. |

Let go of the Mike hate for just a moment and allow yourself to have fun. Is it likely - no. A six game run? Show me a two game run first - get to .500 and maybe, maybe - it's a real conversation. At the same time, are you really so intent on cursing at your TV and spreading misery that you can't just let people dream? There will be plenty of time for your anti-Shanahan's rants, maybe as early as tomorrow. For now, why not just let yourself enjoy the hope for the play offs while, mathmatically, you still can? I, and most of us here, realize it is likely a fleeting opportunity. |

Agree with this statement. The Redskins have beaten the Saints, Eagles, Vikings and Bucs. The combined record of those teams thru 10 weeks is 20-20. Perfectly average. The Cowboys are also 5-5. I say the chances of winning tomorrow are 50%! |

I keep pointing this out, but 3 of those 4 teams lie directly in our path to a wildcard spot, and we have beaten them. |
Re: NFC East Chances
All that matters right now is winning on Turkey day. We're pretty much in the playoffs from here out. Gotta keep winning. Fortunately, if we're going to be in this position, we get to play the teams that we also need to lose. So, as Matty said, we control our own destiny to a certain degree.

I don't think so: DAL Schedule: vs WAS vs PHI @ CIN vs PIT vs NO @ WAS They got us twice, and I think we are the better team, Cinci will beat them, Pitt will beat .... well maybe not if they use Batch, NO should beat them. |
A lot of optimism around here. Let's get to 500. and see. I can't even think about playoffs right now.
Yeah. If the Skins play balls out this is the best we can hope for. The teams not winning out. Even if they did that still might not be enough to make it in. |

Re: NFC East Chances
Just wanted to bring this back up after the big win Thursday....
Basically, Monday Night against the Giants is still a must win. At worst, they'll come in 1 full game ahead of us. If they were to win the Monday Nighter, it would be two full games, and they'd own the tiebreaker head to head so basically three games with four to play. So I don't see anyway we can win the division without getting that game. If we can pull of the W there, we'd pretty much control our own destiny (NYG would need to lose one other game, but with the schedule they have it's almost a certainty). |
Re: NFC East Chances
yeah, we really can't talk about playoffs unless/until we beat the giants.

Well, we are basically in a playoffs-like situation now. We lose and we are done. Regardless what happens, I just hope we play well like we have done in the past two games (or better) Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 using Tapatalk 2 |

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 using Tapatalk 2
I still think we can afford one more loss, but can't be to NY. I think if we won out but say lost to Baltimore, we'd still have a real good shot at 9-7. |

Re: NFC East Chances
[If the Redskins lose to the Giants...] A wild card spot is very much in play if the Redskins can win four of their last five to finish at 9-7. Here is the big picture: It looks like one of the two wild card berths will go to either the Packers or the Bears. They are both 7-3 and tied atop the NFC North. One likely will win the division, the other will get a wild card. The Vikings, Bucs, and Seahawks are all tied for the second spot at 6-4. The Redskins are a game and a half behind them. It is very possible that all three will lose on Sunday. Minnesota visits the Bears, Tampa Bay hosts the Falcons and Seattle makes the NFL’s longest road trip when they go to Miami. That would pull the Redskins within a game of the last wild card. The leg up that the Redskins have is that they beat both the Bucs and the Vikings, giving them the tiebreaker edge. Would sure be nice to knock out all three division rivals within 2-3 weeks.. |

That depends on if giants beat pack. If they do i would consider it a must win. |
Re: NFC East Chances
Every divisional game is a must win till the end of the season.
Honestly if this team goes from 3-6 to 10-6 they win the division. The Giants would need to lose just one other of there 5 remaining games. We would have the tie breaker at 5-1 in the division to say 4-2 for them assuming we both finished with the same record. 10-6 for us MAY make a wild card if the Giants won all but the Skins game remaining on their schedule. The 5th and 6th teams in the NFC are 6-4 two full games ahead of us. Win is the way to do this and also be running on a hot streak entering the playoffs. Do I believe that it could happen, sure it's the NfL and momentum is everything, will it well... I have been through the last ten years and although something is building in DC.. It may just wait till next year to see an East title and a birth in he playoffs. Fan since 82 BTW though I must say i was 4 back then, but got to talk a lot of shit in school all the way till high school. Not so much the last 20 years |
