I 100% agree with you but..... the Skins won Thanksgiving Day which is a Prime Time game in front of millions of viewers. Dallas had not lost a Thanksgiving Day game in many of years. The Redskins never won a game on Thanksgiving Day since what 1951 or something?

I feel tides are a turning. The Giants didn't have their best WR on the field the first go around but neither did the Skins (Garcon). Although the Skins have many starters on IR now the team is playing well with what we do have and most of the players that played the first game will be back as opposed to the Giants who might have several players out this go around. With the Skins run game playing well and now Garcon back into the fold with Robinson and Hankerson I think the Giants will have their hands full.

The Skins win this one and there is a 3 way tie for the division....right?

I just have one of those miserably bad feelings of foreboding.

As a side note, I think it is hilarious how so many of us have little superstitions working this week (I have one going too). I also think think the recent Bud Light play on that is f'ing brilliant ("It's only weird if it doesn't work!"). My favorite is the guy who gives the faux-scientific reason for holding beer bottles "label out" when their kicker is attempting a field goal.

I just have to find the right place in the room to put the Redskins Football Gnome, the burgundy and gold squid named Gibbs, and make sure I am wearing the right football jersey (defense or offense).

My biggest memory of superstitions was in the '79 game season finale against Dallas. Every time our dog was in the room, the Skins messed up, when she was out, the Skins scored. I mentioned this to my Dad who snorted and said it didn't matter and he would prove it by calling the dog into the room. The Cowboys promptly drove down and scored the go ahead touchdown.

Honestly, while I love the throwbacks, I'm not convolved we're not cursed in any throwback uniforms. I'd be fine with dumping them for this game.

Seriously, how did we let the 1-win Panthers flat out embarrass us?

The last time we wore throwbacks against the Giants, we got whipped in our 75ths. Before that, in our 70ths...loss to the Saints. In 1994 for the league's 75th anniversary, we lost two out of three in throwbacks.

I say dump them.

I am in complete agreement with this post. RGIII is a game changer for the Skins. Throw out all the history, jinxes, etc. With RGIII we can beat any team, anytime, anywhere.

Of course, we might lose, too. But the point is that I believe we always have a chance to win with RGIII.

Here's a statistic for everyone. In the last 12 quarters vs. the Redskins, Eli Manning has only 1 TD and 6 INTs. He is without a doubt prone to throw at least 2 or 3 interceptions tonight to the Redskins defense.

LL/HTTR tweeted earlier this week (or last) that they were not going to wear the throw backs tonight. They'll be wearing them for the Ravens game.

Yes your right. The Giants are 2 games up right now, if we win we are within 1 game tied with Dallas still. If we lose we are 3 games back and 1 game behind Dallas.

I too think the Giants will have a harder end of the season. Ours is not easy because it's mostly division rivals but Dallas can be beat again especially at home and the Eagles were dreadful. I'm worried about the Browns and Ravens but the Ravens are up and down. I'm not as scared about them and have been thinking we might be able to take them now.

I like the throwbacks also. Mostly the darker (actual Burgundy) color jersey and I prefer the darker metalic (gold) pants they are wearing more so. The helmet I could care less with. I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me and I think it looks neat. Too bad they couldn't stick the logo on the side of the brown helmet. lol.

Then it wouldn't be a throwback. We'd be like the Steelers with a modern helmet with 1933 uniforms. That was the whole point of doing the leather, that's what was worn with this uniform. Great move with the black facemask too...since there was no facemask back then, black is the least-visible color. Gold or Grey would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

I love the leather look on the helmet. No one has ever done this before. It's the best part of the uniform in my opinion.

By the way, the Rams looked GREAT in their throwbacks yesterday. They should be using those colors, not navy blue like every baseball team and Toyota Corolla pale gold.

We really shouldn't believe in this voodoo jinx crap...except for the fact that this stuff always holds true for us! That's what worries me...we're not making these trends and streaks up....they're on paper. We need this game. This is the most important game and we're need a literal miracle to make the playoffs like going 4-0 and the Giants going 0-4 if we lose this game. If we win this game, chances are very good that we'll be in the postseason.

Do everything we can to get fate on our side. If we had a winning streak when Rosanne Barr sang the Anthem for us, I'd bus her in and treat her to the nicest buffet in town for her performance.

We need to really play smash mouth football tonight. The Giants D-line was incredibly frustrated with RGIII's elusiveness last time, and they're definitely going to try to make this a statement game -- we're the defending champs, you'er still a rookie, we're the class of the NFC East, blah, blah, blah. The way to counter that is to smash them in the f_ing mouth. All night. I want our O-line to start trucking these jerkweeds. It starts with dictating what our offense can do. We win the battle of the line, hold on to the ball, and (unlike last time) convert 3rd downs, we can definitely win this game. I wouldn't want to get into a shooting match if we can avoid it -- even though we've shown we can win them, the memory of the last game still stings. A grind it out win at home would be more satisfying as far as I am concerned.

Still ticked that Green Bay decided to take last weekend off, and that the Eagles couldn't hold on to their lead yesterday. But screw all that -- time to take care of our own business.

You're right though...he shines on the big stage. What he did on Thanksgiving is an example. He'll torch the Giants like he did Dallas...and New Orleans...and every time he's in a huge spotlight. He's getting better every week too...notice now he's not running much any more. He can, but when he's completing 93% of his passes...why ruin it?

I got two slabs of cooked ribs at Harris Teeters on Saturday for the game tonight. They have them on sale every Saturday for $7 a slab and I'll have to say they are pretty good. I was going to give a link but I found HT has a VIP Redskins section for anyone who cares and wants a chance to win $500. I too hate these late games.

I'll wash yhem down with cold beer or Sky Vodaka and Tonic.t

Interesting, and discouraging stat -

For the year, RGIII is 4 of 44 when trying to convert 3rd and 8 or longer. So if its 3rd and 8 tonight, you might as well go start making yourself another drink, because we'll be getting ready to punt.
