Dallas is going to lose today though.
Doesn't really make a difference in the playoff picture either way. For the wild card sure, but the NFC East race is in exactly the same spot no matter what Dallas does today.

We can clinch next week, but both Dallas (vs. New Orleans) and New York (vs. Baltimore) must lose to give us that opportunity.

I hope they can get him signed. I don't want a replay of A. Pierce, R. Clark. We have no idea if Orakpo will heal up.
Good point, they maybe should a little.

But still, look at the stats!

RG3 - TDS 18, INT 4, YDS 2,902, RTG 104.2, Rush Yds 748

Luck - TDS 18, INT 18, YDS 3,792, RTG 74.5, Rush Yds 233

Wilson - TDS 20, INT 9, YDS 2,492, RTG 94.9, Rush Yds 310
Yeah see on stats alone I think he should get it and when the team was 3-6 the big edge Luck had was the Colts were winning. Still it seems that there is a group of people insistent on making sure that Luck gets Rookie of the Year no matter what. Not that he doesn't deserve consideration but it shouldn't be as close at is seems. Then again its a useless award that means nothing. Right now I'm just hoping that Luck has enough of a following to get the cover of Madden :D.

Anyway in terms of the game this could not have gone better.

- We gave RG3 another week to rest his knee.

- Cousins got experience and performed well boosting his confidence

- We were able to showcase Cousins for other teams that will probably inquire about him in the future given the likely increased shortage of QBs on the horizon.

- Giants get killed, we take first place in the NFC East and assure that we don't have a loosing season on top of that Steelers are likely to beat the Cowboys.
I don't know. He just outplayed a top 10 pick in weeden, and it was his first start. That combined with the poise he showed in the last quarter of last week, and I think he already looks like more of a proven commodity than kolb did, and look what he commanded. I think we could definitely get a second rounder for him, maybe even a 2nd and a 4th or 5th. The guy looks super solid, someone that could become a very solid qb, and you can't put a value on that.

Who knows?
Weeden was the biggest first round reach in the last ten years. There were more qualified college QBs who did not get drafted at all.

Very good win for our ball club, and hopefully that will change some of the media talk from RGIII to the entire team. RG didn't look to happy that he wasn't starting though.

Jackson is expendable. You have to look at him as the kind of guy that another 3-4 team might give a 5/$25 kind of deal to just like they did with Ray Edwards.

If you are Jackson's agent, you'd be foolish to re-up with Redskins before the market sets. So many teams now with the cash rollover (and the salary floor) are going to be throwing around crazy money.

The Redskins can afford another Will Montgomery type contract to pay for quality depth, but they can't pay Rob Jackson a starter's salary. They can't afford that, unless they're giving up on Orakpo.

Hold up. Give me a minute. I can think of a few.

Off the top of my head, JP Losman for Buffalo at 22 in 2004. Tyson Jackson at 3 for KC in 2009. Though probably the biggest reach I ever saw was James Carpenter at 25 for Seattle in 2011 at a position where it's relatively easy to find talent later. Third or fourth round pick at best and the fact that he tore his ACL 9 games into the 2011 season didn't help. Ironically Bruce Irvin was also considered a huge reach for Seattle at 15 in 2012 but he's paid off this year.

Oh and of course lets not forget Tim Tebow in 2010 at 25.

Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
Just to answer your question from the game day thread, I was pretty nervous about this game coming in. Kirk played ok in relief in the ATL game, but he did make some rookie mistakes that led to a couple of picks. The Browns have a very formidable defense, and tbh, I still don't trust our defense to play a complete 60 minutes. I thought if Kirk played the way he did in the ATL game we would lose.

Like I said in the game day thread, I will gladly eat some crow here, because he did exactly what he needed to do to win. The first few minutes had us all nervous, but he showed an ability to forget about it and move on. The coaches definitely did their part in calling the right plays and helping him make adjustments, and it obviously worked. The Browns took away the run all day, and basically said if we were going to win, it would be on Kirk. And obviously Kirk was comfortable taking control and making plays, so kudos to him.

With all that said, I think we'll need RG3 these next two weeks so hopefully he's ready to go. Two more to go, and it's unbelievable to think that if we win these next two weeks, we will be 7 weeks removed from being 3-6 and looking like a bottom feeder.
I hear ya, gotta take everyone seriously this time of the year. I just didn't understand some people that were pumping the Browns up like they were the defending champs or something. Hell I remember back earlier in the year some were convinced they were flat out better than us.

I think we could get by with out RG3 another week if we had to. Hopefully we won't have to though.

I think ponder has better tools and has a decent shot to turn the center. weeded will need a lot of talent and a scheme around him to be good. Highly doubt he's gonna get that in the factory of sadness.
You're right, i just hope we don't low ball him too much and lose him. He's outplaying Kerrigan solidly, IMO.
Kerrigan is both younger and the one person in an offensive gameplan you have to account for on every snap.

Teams have done a good job against Kerrigan this year and he hasn't always made the necessary adjustments to be great. But hes still the one playmaker on the Skins defense.

Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread

For the second round talk for Cousins thats going on, thats nonsense. No way we let him go for ONLY a second. First, he is signed for 3 more years after this one, and we have a QB that is reckless. Dont get me wrong, love RG3's style of play, but a quality backup is a necessity, and Cousins solves that problem for 2 more years on a cheap contract, especially for QB's.

If the QB drought continues for more than one year, his value doubles. If he shows that he may just be starter quality in another year or two, his values doubles again. He can be traded after 3 seasons and still have a cheap year left which is also favorable in a trade.

Its a risk to wait on him to develop, but if Cousins can continue to develop like he is, there will be a first plus other stuff at the end of the rainbow.

Lets not rush him out the door for a second and call it a victory just yet.

As for being first place in the NFC East... As for winning 5 in a row...

What a shock to be able to say that with only 2 games remaining. Guaranteed to not have a losing season and a shot at the division title with 2 games left is gonna have this town jumping. HTTR!

Keep Cousins as long as we can. We already know how often RG3 gets injured. We have him for what 3 more years? What is the hurry? At RG3's rate he wont be in the league for long. I hope he has many years with us but i worry when he goes out in the pocket like he does. Robert has been lucky with the injuries he has gotten so far.

Great game by Rob Jackson, Lorenzo Alexander, Hankerson, Paulsen and Deangelo Hall!!!!!
Their not going to trade RG3. Lol.

Lets all stop with KC trade BS....it ain't gunna happen. We have him locked down for a few yrs and might as well reap the benifits of having two good QB's.

Either pay and keep him later or trade him before his contract is up, but I wouldn't trade him now F that. This game is the perfect reason why no RG3 and Cousins came in and managed the game well.

Now if they pick up another QB with RG3's skills then yeah trade him but not with RG1 as your backup.

When you have a QB who body is at risk every other play, you need a guy ready to come in and play. Dont trade Cousins, develop him.

Fair enough, but the truth is we have been talking about this possibility since the minute he was drafted on day 2 so can you really blame us for bringing it up after he gets a full game under center? :D

Now granted anyone that brings it up in terms of this coming offseason is insane but if you're shooting for 2014 or 2015 then I'd say thats fair.
Quick question for you guys. Let's say RG III the next two years becomes somewhat injury prone and kirk is consistent as a back up and wins us games. Is it a possibility that their could be an RG III vs Cousin Controversy. I'm saying this if RG III the next two years just keeps getting injured. Is it me but if I was RG III I would be more motivated to get out there to play. If I got hurt, your giving Kurt more opportunities.

I was thinking guys if they trade Kurt in 2015. I was thinking they draft another qb in 2015. Could you see them doing this if RG III becomes too injury prone? When do you feel will be the breaking point for the skins with RG III and look at another qb?
