re: RG3 cleared to play (update)
i hadn't heard that either. he looked good to me in warmups, maybe not "himself", but he was moving around very well. if he was in pain, he wasn't showing it
FWIW, Campbell's statement regarding the doctors clearing him was more of his opinion/reading between the lines based on things he'd heard as opposed to a definative statement of a source on record. Still, the guy seems pretty tuned into things generally. He did definitavely statedthat the coaches were not pleased with Griffins perforance in practice last weekas he lacked his normal mobility and was very tentative when planting his foot. He also said Griffin was very upset about not playing because all season, not just because he felt he could play, but because all season he's been surrounded by veterans who have toughed it out and played through worse injuries. He respects London Fletcher and Trent Williams, and, as a leader of the team, wanted to show his team mates he was just as tough as those guys. Personally, i think Griffin could have played Sunday and would have been mobile, despite the pain. In hindsight, we can all be glad he didnt play, because we won the game and he's had extra time to heal. While i think the hits RGIII takes now will come back to bite him later in the year, i dont think anyone doubts that RGIII would play through pain - and at a high level - if he had to. |
Sounds like Monty and Tyler will play. Monty is in pain but can play through it.
This is great news. While ive been vocal about my dissatisfaction with the line here, i think the only reason we've survived with it is because the same 5 guys have been lined up next to eachother all season. With any luck, they'll be able to continue doing so for the next 5 weeks, and get some rest during the bye before the superbowl :) |

I don't see or hear anything different here... Still up to docs, still no definitive answers... Media did a great job of trying to lull him to answer yea or nay but RG sounded reserved and rehearsed. He made it sound as if he felt just as good last week as he does today. Only upside is he practiced fully which is the best indicator. |
re: RG3 cleared to play (update)
Defensive end Stephen Bowen was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice. According to Coach Mike Shanahan, Bowen has a torn tendon in his upper left biceps.
“He can play with that,” Shanahan said. “It’s pretty painful right now. But people have played with that. Now, if it was the lower part of the bicep, he would be out. He’d have surgery.” |

^^ Yeah RG looking determined!!
Sunday's game has so much going on between our playoff run and Reid's last home appearance. Both sides should be psyched. |
Griff will play great Sunday. Probably another 4 td game

That's one scenario and you may be right.
But it may also be true that if we take an early lead, a demoralized Iggles team folds like the French in WWII.[/QUOTE] My point exactly -- we have to get an early lead and take the fight out of them. And I like the idea of leaving them in ruins. (Still bitter about the Body Bag Game and the Vick-beat down -- I will never forgive that.)
Shoot, I figured we got revenge for the Body Bag Game, beating them later the same season. And Gibbs went on to win another SB ring later, while Buddy Ryan didn't. The Vick Blowout at Fed-Ex, yeah the Eagles have done that to us at least twice in the Snyder era. I really don't care as long as we win another ring before they ever do. |
re: RG3 cleared to play (update)
Would rather Griffin sit if it would help him long-term.

re: RG3 cleared to play (update)
You know what is freaking incredible? Despite who plays on Sunday, we will probably win. With Cousins it is 80-85%, with Robert it is 90-95%. It is higher with Robert but almost a sure thing with both. When is the last time we have been able to say that? Incredible...
Also, I was reading some of the comments on PFT regarding the game and it reminded me how great DS has been recently. The fact that he has not come up at all in the past few years is a testament to how much he has grown as an owner. It means nothing but Mr. Snyder, as one of your worst critics, thank you for your maturity. Also, go Skins -- I have completely checked out at work and am living between Sundays and cannot wait for the the next two games. |
We got people to serve the other players lunch and to fuel the Redskins name in NFL Europe.
Well I wouldn't sleep on the eagles that much. They are a rival and are also starting a rookie qb with much to prove. I don't see us winning as easy as Cleveland. Something like 30-24 skins. I agree though I'm ready for some playoffs!!!! Httr |
re: RG3 cleared to play (update)
It's amazing what a great QB does to the whole team. RG III has been infectious to this team, and I love to see we now have a great 1-2 QB combo.
I missed offense. The last offense I really remember as being able to score as much as we have was 91' ( I know that team and offense was much more advanced and championship caliber ) |

No selfishness in sight...even Hall and Morgan are buying into this despite a few lapses in judgment. |

Why is anyone even focusing on that idiot from First Take's comments anymore? It really isn't worth anyone's time -- I think RGIII handled it exactly right. He ignored it as inane drivel.

Slow down there a bit. If we don't play well we can lose. We're still not good enough to just show up and beat a bad team. This is a division game and I expect it to be close. |
