If we shut down Maclin, that's kind of it for their WR corps.
i dunno, cooper isnt terrible and avant always seems to come up with a few grabs against us ... pressuring foles the way we did in the first game will be the key to keeping him off balance and throwing us some gifts.!! |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
I hope we can do more of the same, but truly, this might be the most poor group of WRs we've faced all season. Even Cleveland had better WRs.

I'm expecting our LBs and DBs to play some solid football on Sunday. Anything less than a sack party and an interception bash would be uncivilized. |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Riiiight, I forgot about that. In that case, we wreck these fools, 26-13.
|
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Blow out win for us. Everything else that's happened to this team is completly different than in previous years. I think we can hang a 50-burger on them.
|
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Expect a classic NFCE game, which makes it impossible to predict.
Will be a fantastic one to watch though even if it's low scoring. The one thing I don't like going into this one is the Iggles dline can be nasty. Keep Trent Cole away. |

I'd wreck that Eagle-chick? :) |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
It's Ried's last game on Philly and I imagine quite a number of players on thier roster. I expect them to bring it and go out with splash. I am concerned but I don't think they are good enough offensively to keep up.
Are we gonna go with the throwbacks this weekend? I thought we were going to see them twice and we never saw them the second time.
Prob in week 17. 33-19 Skins. |
Scared.
|
Actually, I think RG3 is going to play with a big-ass chip on his shoulder after what Cousins did last week. I expect more than 329 yards passing and at least 3 TDs from the soon to be rookie of the year.
|
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Just the way Alfred Morris runs angry after a fumble or bad carry and punishes people, I think RG3 comes out and plays angry. He's going to want to make a point and punish the Eagles. The Eagles will try to put on a good show for Reid's farewell. If we jump out to an early lead, the Eagles give up by the half, Cousins is in for the 4th quarter and we win 41 - 10. If we let the Eagles hang close early, then it'll be a fight all day until RG3 seals the deal at the end and we win 27 - 20.
|
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
I expect a much more competitive game than the last meeting. Eagles have nothing to lose, and are playing for pride mostly which makes this game that much more dangerous. The best way to deal with that is to break their will early and create a good double digit lead. THEN, we can control the game with the running game. I feel as though if it is close, and we let them stay in it, we lose...
What I meant to say is: Skins 34 Eagles 16 |

Luck will be roy but I agree about this weeks game. |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Foles isn't the same QB he was 6 weeks ago -- they'll definitely put up some points. But RG3 puts the team on his back for 5 scores (3 passing, 2 rushing)
Skins: 45 Eagles:35 |

You really think so? with all those TOs? RG3 over Wilson b/c Seattle's defense is fantastic and Redskins will probably end up with the same record. RG3 over Luck b/c he'll have less TOs Oh and the last to first doesn't hurt either. |
Luck will be roy but I agree about this weeks game.
I have come to think there is absolutely no way that Luck will ROY. Fact of the matter is he isn't even 2nd best, and with both Seattle and Washington in the hunt at this point his biggest selling point (led his team to playoffs) is minimized. I tend to believe it's a 2 game playoff (i may have said this before). Sunday night, Russell Wilson will put his bid for it on display, and if he shines (like I expect) that will have him in the front. The following week, one of 3 games will be flexed (Hou v Indy, Cinci v Balt, or Dal v Skins), unless dallas and us both lose, it will be our game, and Griffin will make his case for it. For a reminder of that, look at his game when the Heisman was in question. As for Luck, he is 31st in the league in passer rating. Read that again --- 31st. He is tied for 1st in INT's: Griffin has 4, Wilson has 9, Luck has 18. He is 33rd, right 33rd, in completion %, Finally he is 17th in yards per attempt. If he gets it, it's kinda a sham. Total QBR Griffin 6, Wilson 8, Luck 12 on qbr, can anyone explain the Penalty EPA. Luck has a huge Penalty EPA compared to any other qb (+16.1, Griffin for comparison is +7, and Wilson is +6), I think if you changed the +16 to +7, Luck would drop even further, I just don't know what causes + penalty epa's. |

One of the things it does is weight individual plays. Giving bonus points if its an important time of the game. So a 10 yard pass on 3rd and 8 for a first down isnt worth a whole lot in the 1st quarter. But in the 4th quarter when you are down by 7, it gets a ton of bonus points. Since Luck has a lot of come from behind wins in the 4th quarter, he gets a lot of bonus points for QBR. Since each play is watched and graded, it is also somewhat subjective. Luck may have a lot of int's, but if the people grading the play deem it to be the WR's fault, Luck doesnt get knocked down (or very little) on QBR. |
Colts won what? 1 game last year. But I actually would have a 3 way tie because honestly all of them deserve it. Just because Wilson has a good defense doesn't mean he isn't having a great season. Plus I fear that the injury will hurt Griffin s chances

They won 2, but I think you have to ask if that wasn't a self inflicted 2. They had won 10 how many year in a row? As many have pointed out, we have had how many losing seasons in a row :(. Griffin has changed the whole DC culture, Luck is getting questioned on Colts fan boards (not massively, but asking things like is he regressing etc.) and Wilson is just glad to be here. |

Superbowls are the best thing to happen in your lifetime!! Unless you are younger than i think. I say RG-3 wins rookie of the year handsdown. His td to int ratio and rating will seal the deal. Luck is damn good, but Griff is better. |

Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
I remember the 91 Redskins. I watched most of the season in Germany catching mostly the highlights on George Michael's Sports Machine on AFN. I made it back to the states around Christmas just in time for the playoff run. I saw the "Seat Cushion" game and it was smooth sailing through the rest of the playoffs. It seemed as if the Posse could do nothing wrong as they scorched themselves to a SB victory over the Bills. The game was not as close as the score suggested.
I was raised a Skins fan, but that was the first season that I was actually able to understand and remember. I was 13. |

Plus he will break Newtons passing yards this week which will have the media pushing him even more for the award. I'll steal a quote from Twitter "Luck is like a arsonist who starts a fire and then attempts to put it out". Just for arguments sake on some of the stats I've seen earlier. Any way ya look at it Lucks stats do not = ROY. In comparison the Colts have passed the ball 564 times, us 400. Rushing 381 Colts and 449 for us. Now would you say the Ravens have no threat of a run? They have rushed the ball 353 times and their average is 4.2 ypc. The Colts are at 3.9 ypc so I wouldn't say they have no threat of a running game. Who actually decides the ROY? |

My bad, I wasnt specifically paying attention to the penalty part. But yeah, I would say you are right. I havent looked into it, but not only on 3rd downs, also probably some pass int's on a game winning drive or drives late in the 4th quarter of a close game. Not sure how many late hits hes had, but im sure those add in there as well. It seems that QBR benefits a QB that plays a lot of close games, since that is where the better scores come from. I think a lot of Lucks score comes from 4th quarter games that are tied or very close, which seems to pretty much be all of Indy's games. Although I do like the fact that it penalizes garbage time stats though. |

I remember back then, It seemed every time we got the ball we would drive down the field. Passing game was magic with good QB (RG3) and fast receivers (Garcon, Hankerson, Morgan, Moss), Riggins was unstoppable (Morris). Mosley was always good for the extra poins (Forbath). We are getting very close to that again. Only thing we are lacking is a slightly better push with both our lines, (as we had in the Hogs) and a shutdown CB (as we had in Darrell Green). Very close indeed... HTTR! |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
This game has trap written all over it. The Skins are on a hot streak and next week is the bigger game, so I hope they don't overlook the Eagles. That being said I think the Eagles are in just too much disarray.
Skins 31 Eagles 17 |
Re: Scared? Or Confident? Redskins v Eagles Prediction Thread
Scared. The Eagles have nothing to lose and would love to play spoiler.
|
The Skins know what they have to do and it's hard for a game to be a trap game this late in the season. I think this team has turned a corner.
|
It's weird usually we r the 4-10 team at this point playing a playoff contender. Thank God for RG3

Everybody seems to think the eagles have something to prove, or they will play hard for Andy. I say fooey on that - they lay down n die for us. We have everything to play for and they are already checked out imo.

Or, they will be playing for their jobs for whichever new coach comes in since he will be evaluating everyone. |
Playing for the playoffs/division trumps what the Eagles will be playing for.
