Bill Simmons ESPN:
"Cowboys (+3) over REDSKINS At Stake: The NFC East title; the no. 4 seed; the no. 6 seed if Minnesota AND Chicago lose (if that happens and Dallas beats Washington, Dallas gets no. 4 and Washington gets no. 6; if that happens and Washington wins, the Redskins get no. 4 and the Giants get no. 6); the Jason Garrett era; the "Rookie of the Year" award; a potentially massive NBC rating; the mood of Monday's B.S. Report with Cousin Sal; the latest chapter of the ongoing saga, "How Good Is Tony Romo?" The Pick: Pick a scenario … Scenario A: A suddenly healthy Robert Griffin III scampers around, slices and dices Dallas's defense, spearheads a brutally efficient Redskins running game and generally does RG3 things as Washington's sellout crowd absolutely loses its mind, followed by dozens of shots of a depressed Jerry Jones, Garrett blankly staring out to the field with one of those "Maybe I should see if I could get a college job" looks on his face, then Romo gamely bringing the Cowboys back from 20 down in the fourth quarter with two garbage-time TDs, followed by the inevitable onside kick that Dan Bailey screws up by kicking out of bounds. Washington wins by six. Scenario B: Griffin doesn't look totally healthy … Washington's ridiculous fumble luck (they've recovered 19 of their 25 fumbles) finally swings against them … Romo plays out of his mind as Cris Collinsworth lectures us that we "have to stop pretending that Tony Romo isn't an elite QB" … a once-crazy Washington crowd goes into super-tense "Uh-Oh" mode (shades of the Nats' last playoff game) as Romo does whatever he wants … Griffin makes one classic rookie mistake down the stretch … Collinsworth gushes that "People don't realize how mentally tough this Cowboys team is" … Al Michaels gets excited when a late Cowboys field goal beats the "over" … Dallas wins by 10. (Hmmmmmmmmmmm … ) Why do I keep drifting back to Scenario B? Cowboys 34, Redskins 24." |

Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
If we end up securing the wild card spot before the game, and we beat Dallas anyways, the giants make it in the playoffs.

Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
With an extra sense of urgency, I expect the Redskins to pound the Cowboys.
Dallas 10 Washington 38 |

Not necessarily. Giants have to WIN their game. If Giants lose, Vikes lose, and bears lose, we secure the 6th spot, and Giants can't get in regardless off what happens during our game. Right? |

Right?
No if giants lose they r out no matter what. If all three lose then Vikings get in over bears. And yes we own tiebreaker over all three teams so if in fact we do lose tomorrow as long as bears and viks lose we will get in no matter what |

This game is a test of character. The team with moxie, leadership, intestinal fortitude, controlled nastiness, and determination prevails. I honestly think we kick the ever living shit out of them.
Redskins 40, Cowboys 23 |

Side prediction: If the Skins win and, say, the Cowboys do poorly again next season, I think Jerry Jones will try to pry Kyle Shanahan from the Redskins with a shit load of money.

Can't see Kyle going to a NFC team much less the same division. I think he stays here and takes over for Mike in 3 years. |
Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
In a game for the AGES .. Legendary Status ... FED EX officially becomes RFK 2.o and the crowd is such a factor, like SEATTLE type of factor that it's just's so amped that the boys on Defense will be bringing the heat a la Kerrigan, Fletcher, Coefield, Bowen, Jackson ... You name it ... That's the key .. RG3 I have a feeling will be much smoother in his running this week, played it nice and easy last week. This is win or go home, division title on the line. Damn I wish I was back in DC .. I'm so pumped !!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways Prediction: Redskins 28 Cowboys 27 RG3 leads team down for go ahead TD down 27-21 with 2 min. Beginning run into Playoffs and home game at Fed Ex Field next week. Let's F****ing GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
Cowboys are pissed they haven't had a chance to blow it in the playoffs in quite some time. Tomorrow they rectify that!

Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
Really? I don't see how any Redskins fan can say or predict that outcome. I don't care if we were 0-15 going into this game, as a TRUE Redskins fan I will still pick and predict a win for my Redskins. Especially against the Cowchips. I NEVER EVER predict a loss to the cowchips.

I had the same mentality until I moved to vegas. Now I either bet for the skins to win or at least cover. Most of the books had us as a 6 win team in the preseason. I took the over there and j also put down a good amount on us winning the division. Told my wife if it happens we're going to Hawaii. I think she's more excited for the game than I am at this point. |

Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
Well this game has me worried. I was worried about the Giants game since they were seeing the Skins and RG3 a second time but the Skins pulled it out. I was worried about the Eagles seeing the Skins a second time since they would get to watch what they did wrong the first time and correct it but the Skins won. I like to think what the Skins are doing on offense is blazing their own path (which they are mixing MS's zone system with RG3's spread system) and that no matter if a team sees it a second time or not it's still too difficult to defend.
I think Skins win this one, perhaps closer then the first go around, say... Redskins-34 Cowboys- 28 However I've also kept in my mind that no matter what happens thos season was a success. Everything from here on out is just bonus. The team definitly has something to build on now. Exciting. |

There is already rumors that teams may contact him after this season such as the Browns or Chargers. Personally I hope he turns all offers down. I hope there is an underlying theme at Redskins Park that either MS keeps the Exec Vice Pres position and gives up the HC spot to his son either after his 5 yr deal is over or after he wins a SB. ;) We gotta keep the coaching staff together. What ends up hurting teams after having success is coaches leaving for jobs elsewhere. Unfortunatly I don't see Haslett leaving but KS I could see but hopefully working along side his dad is more important to him. |

Then thought about it and yeah... your probably right. 1- Old man letting little kids sit on his lap? 2- slave labor? 3- sweat shop? 4- B&E into how many homes? 5- I'm sure there is some form of animal crualty? LOL. |

Our D-line and LBs are good but our secondary sucks. Haslett did good job of being creative with looks and it's working so far. Imagine what we could do if we had decent or better secondary. I believe in the system, although I have to admit I don't like the idea of Cofield being NT (would be better as DE) but that's another story for other time. |
Questions:
Do you want the Skins to have the wildcard locked up before tonights game? I know we all want a win either way but what affect do you think a wildcard already being locked in would have on this team? I'd rather the Skins know that they must win to get in. I don't want this team to settle because they know they're in the playoffs already. I feel this team is different though & will play hard no matter the results from the early games. |
Re: Win or Go Home ... Cowboys v Skins Predictions
Don't care if they have a wildcard locked up, Skins win the division, we have a home game against the next opponents.
FedEx WILL be a true home field advantage after this seven game season-reviving surge. |
Yes to be honest I'd like to know we're already in but I still want to win the division and the game will be just as huge

Thank you. I thought the jab at the Cowboys in the first sentence would do the trick. Even then, I followed it up with a number very familiar.
