Re: 3 Non-Star Players We Need To Step Up In 2013
Kerrigan is a nice player who plays with maximum effort and has his moments, but our talent evaluators screwed up again when we traded down from the #10 pick to take Kerrigan at #16 and get additional picks, one of which I believe turned into Hankerson. J.J. Watt was selected #11 and was there for the taking when our original pick came up. Epic fail.
But after 2011 you could have made a case for either one being better. We picked up a 2nd rounder which we promptly traded down, so its tough to gauge the value on the trade. Kerrigan has time to improve, and I believe he will next year. |
Cofield is really very good as a 0 nose tackle. Playing the A gaps gives him very little opportunity to make "big" plays. The same would go for anyone at the position. Not sure he'd offer any additional value elsewhere.
I respectfully disagree. Cofield is ok as a 0 nose tackle but because of his smaller size he gets pushed around sometimes. It would help if we had a true massive blob in the middle. And Cofield, with his quickness, could thrive at DE and pick up more sacks. Just my two cents. |
Tom Compton since he'll be penciled in as the starting RT going into minicamps
Keenan Robinson since he's the heir apparent to London Fletcher Chase Minnifield since I'm rooting for him and of course...Kirk Cousins
That surprises me. If the staff thinks Compton is better than Hurt, why did Hurt come in to replace Polumbus this year? Hurt seemed to do a good job, in my opinion. |
1. Hankerson. If he's our 2 he needs to show it. We still have a bunch of 3's at receiver but no #2.
2. DeJon Gomes. Is he the starting SS or not. We need to find out or move on. 3. Kirk Cousins. Since I believe he will be our starter for the first 4-8 weeks.
Garcons our #1. Morgans our #2. Both are clear cut #1 and #2 quality receivers in my opnion. Hanks #3, and i dont know if he can hold on to that spot. He doesnt play special teams, and you cant really justify having a #4 or lower who doesnt play teams, so he may not have a place on the roster next year. Thats fine with me. I'm over him. If Cousins starts 8 weeks and does a good job, i say we IR griffin so he's fully healthy for 2014. The last thing we want is to bring Griffin back too soon. we've seen the results of that this year. |

Because Compton's not ready yet |

But the thought is, he's got more potential than Hurt? That would be great news, if true. |
