Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Looks like we should definitely see at least 3 inches from what I've read, but right now looks more like 8 inches to 12 inches.
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
It was almost 80 here yesterday.I definitely prefer warm weather over cold,I will take the long hot summer over the cold.I do miss the snow though, but thats probably because I havent seen any in 39 years

Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I never understood why people freak out and hit the grocery stores like they're going to be snowed in for months.

I had to get to the store so I had no choice, but I agree. I stay as far away from grocery stores as I can at these times. |

I only go because I have a 1 year old and she needs her whole milk. I bought two gallons at lunch time. Outside of that I could probably live off of for a week crap we bought but never ate and I am only counting my can cabinet. When are you truly out of food? You maybe out of stuff you feel like eating at the moment but usually you can find something to eat in your home. |

Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
So I am supposed to have a hearing in Denton tomorrow which includes a property site visit.
Because of this, I predict it will snow just enough to make my life miserable. |

Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Capital Weather Gang saying we should have several inches on ground by AM.
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Local station here is saying 15 to 20 inches of snow by tomorrow evening. It's already snowing here, and our cars and ground are covered.
I love the snow but i'm actually nervous as hell to drive to work tomorrow. I am a good snow driver, and on the weekends when it snows i go out in the pickup and ride around with no problem, but this is the first time i've ever went to work in a snowstorm of this magnitude. very afraid that i might get stranded at work, i'm debating about taking an extra change of clothes just in case i can't get out. If i do get home though we are gonna have lots of fun with the outdoor equipment, plows, atvs, etc... |

I mean 2ft of snow isn't exactly the kind of thing that is movable in a short period of time. I expect clean up there to take a few days. 5 day weekend? :D |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Well, to be honest i think i could call out, but it would be frowned upon.
The reason i say that is that we were sent an email this afternoon in Re: to the snow, and we were told that we were expected to be at work tomorrow. Now, at the time that was sent, it was 45 degrees and sunny so maybe the company was just doing due diligence. I am hoping and praying that i wake up in the morning and have a call or a text from the boss saying to not come in, that the office will be closed. We could have 10 inches on the ground by morning i mean it's snowing to beat the band out there right now.... |

yup I know how to pan sear an older brother up GOOD! and with that the beer would last longer too! |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I once drove through a foot of snow to get to work, only to find my boss stunned that I had shown up. My boss promptly sent me home.

I wouldn't think that was in Mississippi though. :) |

Nope. It was when I lived in upstate NY. In winter in MS I grill out wearing a t-shirt. :) |

Rub it in, Lotus. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Looks like the snow is just starting go pick up here in DC. Its not sticking to the roads yet though. I suppose the day is young though.
Looks like the final accumulation forecasts sits at 5-10 inches in DC as of this morning. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I tell ya, where I work(near BWI), this was a bust :( just a bunch of rain. I had rented a movie and ps3 game with intents of waking up and seeing enough to justify not coming in. So much for that grand plan, at 6am, the grass was still green, and just a bunch of rain on the ground...

Sorry DRave. I was just responding to Okie. I could have mentioned details which would really rub it in. Stay safe, dry, and warm! |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Looks like the D.C area is about to get nailed, buckle up.

Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I feel for you guys, March storms suck. But at least you know the snow won't be around for very long.

She probably thinks that is a good idea. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Well Done Lotus!
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Nice one Lotus.
When I left for work this morning there was already a couple of inches on the ground in Woodbridge, and it was sticking to the roads. Up here in Alexandria it's coming down hard but not sticking yet. Hopefully they let us go once it starts sticking. The bad thing about commuting northbound is that once it starts affecting where I work, I already know it will be worse where I live. I'm not looking forward to driving home today. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
She probably thinks that is a good idea.
Well of course she would. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Well when i got to work this morning I was one of two people there. the other being my boss. We stayed until 10:00 and then went home as the building was closed for the day. driving home was really bad. There is at least 14 inches here in Winchester and it's still coming down....
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
North of B-more; nothing not even rain just wind.
Some dumb B i nmy office actually called out and my boss just sent her a email and cc'ed everyone and asked if she needed help squeegeeing her driveway. IT was priceless! LOL! She is the same one that is from ID and says MD people are wimps when it it comes snow; yet always the first to call out on snow days. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I dunno if this is a snow day as much as a rain day.
Anyone live out near Frederick/Hagerstown? I need the snow there to stick so class is cancelled tomorrow. |
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I haven't seen snow here in Alexandria since noon, it's been nothing but rain since. Such weak sauce.
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
Yeah this storm was a joke. Only looks like the West got it. Typical though.
|
Re: It's *&^%$# cold out!!
I'm disappointed. Not an ounce of snow stuck. Maybe Ill get a little snow when it gets dark.
