5 week bye is a disappointment, but the entire schedule is pretty well balanced.

Home 4 outta last 6...nice to be home coming down the stretch, thats huge imo and add to the fact we get the "traveling west" deal done by week 8. I like that alot.

Week 5 bye week sucks but the late home stretch probably makes up for it. The Green Bay game will be tough (coming on a short week too), but the next stiff challenge will be the Broncos in week 8. And if we have to play the 9ers, better to do it at home. Playing at Atlanta will be rough -- maybe DHall and Mike Smith can get into it again (no Fat Albert to the rescue this time -- cue Trent Williams).

Brian Baldinger and Shaun O Hara have us going 8-8 and losing to Minnesota and Philly, while continously saying that we went 9-7 last year. Dumbasses

Um.. Yeah we aren't losing to Minnesota, they won't be as good as they were last year because Ponder sucks ass.. And WE may split with Philly..

I think 10-6 is the more likely number.

Dallas has a very, very forgiving schedule. But I still see them at 8-8 at best. Philly is a complete unknown to me -- could turn a new page or could slide backwards (personally, I hope Chip Kelly is the latest 'Ol Ball Coach). The Giants' schedule starts off with a few tough games, and if they can get through those, the momentum may be hard to stop.

Bottom line: we've got to play our game and start dictating outcomes. If the D stiffens and we can stay healthy, I like our changes to be in the thick of things come late December.

At first I didn't like the week 5 bye week but combined with the week 10 Thursday, it gives a second small rest heading into the back end where it looks like we will have to prove our playoff mettle early. Could see 4 and 0 going into the bye with Griff, 3-1 with Cousins(maybe a little optimistic)

Usually I dont like to make hair-brained predictions but my first look at this is 14-2.
