Also random question: is Cam Newton a top 100 player? I'm not sure because if this list is voted by the players, I feel like he either would have been on or he won't be on since a lot of players hate him.
Was he on it last year? He should be. Players might not like him but I think they have to respect his game. |

Agreed. I thought that he deserved to be higher than 99. |

Nope, 950. Only 3.6 per carry. |
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
RG3 is probably #1. He strikes the most fear or motivation in most players.

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Like I said in a previous post, if Alfred gets in, its this week, and indeed he did.
Alfred Morris came in at 64 on the list. Top 100 Players of 2013 - NFL.com |

Top 100 Players of 2013 - NFL.com
What does everyone think is going to be the likelihood that Doug Martin is rated higher than Morris? I personally hope not as Morris actually carried the team to some key victories, like the season finale with Griffin banged up riding on his shoulders to the victory. Not discounting Martins first year, but something has gotta be said for having the second most rushing yards behind only the MVP, a franchise rushing record with a pretty historic collection of running backs, and one of the keys to a divisional championship. Sure I'm partially biased with donning our teams colors, but I think I'd feel the same way if looking at it without my burgundy and gold shades. |
Martin had more combined yards than Morris. He's more of a double threat. I don't have a problem with him being ranked ahead of AM.
|
And he had a bigger splash with that crazy raiders game.
|
And he had a bigger splash with that crazy raiders game.
Doug Martin vs. the Raiders: 251 yards 4TDs Alfred Morris vs. Cowboys in the NFC East Championship game: 200 yards 3TDs Both had a big splash game, Martin is more of a double threat, it depends on where Martin comes in on the list. But, like Matty said before. The list is a joke. |
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Alfred Morris against the Raiders defense: 326 yards rushing, 5 rushing TDs, 80 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 1 for 1 passing attempts for 37 yards, 1 passing TD.

He means Doug Martin. Yes, Doug Martin is a better back than Morris. Doug can do more than than Alfred. Basically Doug can catch, Alfred can't catch that well. But don't get me wrong I'm happy Alfred is on our team and is doing well. He was ranked right were I'd put him in the 60s of best players. |

Alfmo is better, just not as flashy. Better blocker, less negative yards, more yards after contact and played his best ball late in the year, no way would I say Martin is better. Also you cannot over estimate Alfmo's attitude, work ethic and humility. Would not want another back in the league |

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
I dunno, like I said I'm not a hater on Martin, he helped my fantasy football team out on many occasions, and agree he's more of a dual threat and home run hitter, but give me consistency any day of the week. Morris had 25 more rushes lead to first downs (actually had a higher percentage of runs being first downs than AP @ almost 25% of the time) and I remember there being a stat line during one of the last games of the season showing Morris was the only rusher in the league with a 10+yard rush in every game. He's not flashy but he's reliable every time given the rock. I won't be too mad though if Martin is ranked higher as long as he's not a lot higher because as others have said this list is still pretty much a joke, but also because its just even more motivation for Morris to show he's not a fluke or a "system back" and keep churning out the yardage.
|
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
To me they are both on the same level of RB, the tier right below Peterson, Foster, Jones-Drew when healthy, McCoy, Johnson, Rice, and Forte.
Martin is more of an all-around threat but Morris has better vision, strength, and tackle breaking ability. I like them both, but if I had to choose I give Alfred the edge by a slight margin. |

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
So the NFL.com's "Top 10 QBs under 25" is down to the final 3. At this point RG3, Andrew Luck and Colin Kapernick, have not been mentioned, so they are obviously 3,2 and 1. I wonder what the order will be? Obviously being a Redskins homer, I have to say RG3 is number 1, but Kapernick maybe number one with a Superbowl appearance. What do you guys think?

It SHOULD be 1. RG3 2. Luck 3. Kaepernick The thing is a lot of ''analysts'' like to go with Luck only because they trust his health and he's more of the safe pick (since coming out of college) rather than going off the ''risky'' or ''higher potential pick'' of RG3. |

If this list was created by the Peter King's of the world then I would be hesitant to say that. |
Cam in at 46? Idk about that. I think he's more around 60 but what do I know

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Either Andrew Luck is very overrated by the players, or not on this list at all.
|
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Again, another week, and players 40-31 were named. No RG3 (Yes). No Andrew Luck either (No!). I think Luck is a top 50 player based on last years performance. I think RG3 is top 25 last year for his performance. If the players don't put RG3 ahead of Luck, I'm going to stop watching.

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
So Andrew Luck is #23. Where will RGIII be? Top 20? or Top 10? They hinted at "a lot of QBs next week, so I have to think he is 15-20. I've seen top 5 listed as Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Brady, Megatron and Adrian Peterson, (not in that order)
Just nice to know that Robert will be Top 20. |
Honestly this list is a joke IMO. It's nice to see Griffin and luck up that high but in all seriousness, they ranked Cam Newton over Ben? And then not even voting Jimmy Graham on the list? Cmon
And as much grief I'll.get for saying this but Tony romo probably should have been in the 90s. If your going off stats he would be, for instance Trent Richardson was what? In the 60s? What did he even do last yr? |

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Yeah this list is a little questionable. Jimmy Graham isn't on the list supposedly. Gronk missed 5 games last year and had 4 surgeries and is still in the top 30 (where as Revis is the best CB in the NFL and has one surgery and drops almost 60 spots).
Then Andrew Luck, sure he is a high potential guy, but he wasn't a top 30 player last year, and the gap between him and Russell Wilson are a lot closer than they appear on this list at 50 and 23. RG3 is where he deserves to be, a top 20 player (I'd personally put him in the top 10). |
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Jimmy graham should be on the list. Revis only played two games and gronk still scored 11 touchdowns, the rest of the surgeries happened after the season, so 2 games vs 11 touchdowns... Not that much of a debate.
As far as griffin being top 10... I'm not there yet. Too many good players in the league to give him the definite edge. Just based on last year I can't put griffin ahead of watt, Rodgers, manning, Brady, miller, Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Willis, Atkins, or Duane brown. I would even make the case sherman and ware are better but those two are debatable. But I do believe griffin will be a top 10 player next year. Should be top 20 this year though. List is kinda dumb anyway |
Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
The point I was trying to make is that there's players who have had longer careers who are in the same class as gronk (like revis) who had an injury or players that played more and better last year than gronk (Hernandez, Atkins, roddy white, Julio, sherman, Welker to name a few) I would have put gronk in the 70s especially when there's questions now if he can stay healthy.

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013
Jimmy Graham being left off the list is just a joke.
I'm all for doing a list show like this, but they've got to get serious about how they put the list together. Poll more players and poll the media too. Come up with a rating system or something. |

I would have the players vote for more than just 20 guys. I would have it be vote for your top 50 or 75 players. Maybe they can have rules like you can only vote for the other 31 teams, not your own team. |

I imagine it's a ballot issue. Give the guys a insightful ballot to vote from.
