All this TW hate is amusing.
Did you read a different article than what you posted? It has Trent Listed as 3rd or 4th best overall in 2012, depending on the metric I guess. And Jason Peters didn't play in 2012.

So, I absolutely, without a doubt stand by what I said. After Peters, a healthy Okung and maybe Saints LT I'd put Williams right in there.

Unless I've missed others, just one person has thrown Trent under the bus in a rant today. Don't think anyone else disputes he's our franchise LT. Anywho

Trouble with Okung is he can't stay healthy and he's hurt again right now.

I'd take Trent over him regardless.

Did anyone notice Clay Matthews on Sunday?

I didn't because Trent Williams took him out of the game. He is one of the best left tackles in the NFL.

Another bad match up for us. Big physical Dline that our oline will not be able to deal with. On offense they obviously pass the ball well so that means another long day for our defense. Lions 34 Skins 24.

And your boy Joe Staley allowed more pressures and a sack against Clay. That ends that debate Trent Williams >Staley.

Anyway as far as this Lions game:

How do you stop Calvin Johnson? No I'm serious how do you stop Calvin Johnson because I don't have any clue with our secondary. Maybe we could do the old gunner formation on him throughout the game, but I doubt it works, he would just run a slant into the middle of the field and still catch the ball, break tackles and outrun us.

Lets say for some reason CJ doesn't get the ball or we defend him ok enough. Theres still Burlison who will give Josh Wilson and DHall problems.

Say you somehow stop Calvin and Burlison. Who stops Pettigrew? London can't cover a TE for his life. Celek and Finley had huge games against us, why shouldn't Pettigrew?

Then lets say for some reason, we are able to stop those 3. Who the hell stops Reggie Bush? London, again, can't run with/to/from/near a RB either. He is a similar version to LeSean McCoy.

The only way we beat Detroit's Offense:

- press them
- Double team Calvin all the time
- have our DL collapse the center forcing Bush to run outside
- hope bush's knee hurts him again forcing him to leave the game
- hope Calvin gets injured enough to miss this game
- put a SS on Pettigrew
- get pressure from all over on stafford causing him to force or over throw passes.

But now the only other problem is Detroits Defense is pretty good. Stephen Tullouch can play. Fairley and Suh are two great DTs. The safeties are upgrades over last year. Where are our weaknesses? OL is definitely one of them. I would also keep an eye on Suh, before, after and during the whistle. He is the kind of guy that would go low on a QB coming off knee surgery.

If I were the Shanahan's, I'm calling a lot of power runs off tackle, and a lot of bootlegs.

Garcon should have a big day; ditto for Jordan Reed.

Not another "... and fights their guts out!" That is almost a cliché anymore and a joke to boot. They are saying in the Detroit News that Bush might not be available for Sunday, but don't totally rule him out either at this point. We need to practice like he will be playing. Only way we have a chance of winning is Haslett mixing up some nice blitz packages and we actually get some turnovers come our way. This needs to be the last time we draft any defensive backs outside of the first round. We have no business putting in mid round rooks as starters.

Maybe , just maybe .... having our best DL ( Cofield ) playing with one arm , along with JJ and AC out has a lot to do with the Defense having some big problems ? Staring 2 Rookie DB's and a QB missing most / all of OTA's , M. camp and Training camp is part of the reason for the poor start ? Just my 2 cents , we need a pro bowl caliber CB and for Rambo to progress along with another top OL to be championship caliber team .

There has been way too much talk of "leadership" surrounding RGIII. I comnpletely agree with what Shanny said in this quote:

"What people have to do, you can't worry about other people, you worry about yourself," Shanahan said. "Once you play the perfect game, then you can start to worry about other people. That's what I tell everybody, whether you're an offensive lineman or quarterback or tight end. You have to concentrate on your job. If everyone concentrates on their job and they do it perfectly, then you have a chance for good things to happen."

Each and and every player who steps on the field can be a team leader based entirely on what he does when he is on the field.

After the first two games, it is apparent that every single Redskins player needs to step up his game to get a win this week. I think they'll do it.

Yea, because we are going to judge players based on one games instead of entire seasons. So now Ryan Kerrigan is better than Aldon Smith because Kerrigan had more sacks against the Packers.

Let us wait untill the season ends to determine who the better tackle is.

I'll give you this, Trent Williams is a better pass blocker than Staley.

Isnt this what Patriots coach Belicheck always says... "Do your Job!" It looks like everyone else is waiting for someone to make a play except Kerrigan. He is the only guy making plays on defense, always has, and always will.

I didn't hear Clays name once Sunday. I heard it throughout the day when they played San Fran. It counts for something. Also Kerrigan makes more plays than Aldon. Remember Aldon smith with Justin Smith= 19.5 sacks. Without Justin smith = 0 sacks.

I think the Redskins will win this one, but the defense will struggle again. Suh is going to be a nightmare for Chris Chester to handle one on one, but I think our play action passing game will create both space for RG3 to throw, and lanes for him to throw into. Stafford will have a bad pick that bails our defense out.
shockingly we are favored to win sunday by vegas
I think it's because of the history of the Lions never winning in DC, and the Skins being a playoff team last year. That means nothing on Sunday, but I think that's why Detroit is getting 2. The line should be Detriot by 3. If I could bet against the Skins I'd load up on Detroit.

Morris is definitely fine. I hate our new play calling. Yes...we have been down many point which forces us to throw..I understand but Griff standing in the pocket like a statue when he only has a second to throw isn't gonna work. It seems to me that RG3 always needs a lot of time on deciding to throw and to who. Moving the pocket and scrambling gave him that time. He's forcing throws to 1st options.

I want to agree with you, but our first two stalled drives are directly tied to Morris, and his lack of consistent push these first two games early on, when I think that the Skins wanted him to shoulder the load, he couldn't. Yes the defenses accounted for him, but the Skins needed him to keep the downs and distances manageable, and so far I don't think he accomplished that.

Still, I think the offense will click, and when it does the defense will get better for several reasons, which I think you have already outlined.
