I know last years game against Dallas to get into the playoffs was huge, but minus the timing of it this weeks game is equally important.
My heart says 30-23 Skins, but my brain says 56-28 Dallas. Go Heart! |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I'm hoping the bye week did us good, but I'd be surprised if the team chose a must win road divisional game to spark a fire on offense vs a team that lights it up every single week and fought toe-toe with the best in the same stadium a week ago. We need a lot to go our way.

It is extremely concerning that they dropped 50 points on an A+++ Broncos team, but Skins-Boys games are almost always close. The Boys are just like us (or at least how we were in the past); they play up or down depending on their competition. They played up to the Broncos, they'll play down with us. |
Well, I mean, the Giants.
There are no guaranteed wins if the Redskins don't show up, but the Giants aren't going to pull away from anyone this season. You can play three crappy quarters against them and still win.
True, but we could easily get beat by NY, just as we could easily beat them. It's not like we could just show up and beat them. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I hope we spread out the Cowboys in some wide sets. Broncos would go to that and could throw the ball pretty easy against the Cowboys. They were doing it despite starting T, C out. Think we should put RG3 in shotgun and let him do the same.
I'd like to see us try some different things in the offense, see if we can get something going. Taking a couple queues from the Broncos isnt a bad thing
This is the last thing we need to do. We don't have the type of offense to go all pass happy. We need to do what won us the division. Run Morris til he drops and keep their offense off the field. |

I am more concerned in a couple of weeks when we are going up against that A+++ offense. |

Yeah, I didnt say make this the premise of our offense. Establish the run for sure, but mix in some spread sets. Broncos had alot of success trying to defend them |

Pretty much how I feel about this week.
I really don't know what to expect from this team in terms of effort. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I agree, I want to say we have a 50-50 chance to win but after the first 4 games I would not bet on us
|
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
The bye changed everything for us last year. We looked like a different team after the bye. The glass-half-full person in me thinks that the same thing will happen and we will leave Dallas with a win.
|
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I gotta feeling the offense is going into the game will be the most prepared of the season.
Looking at the schedule, I wasnt thrilled with the bye position, now I dont think it coulda come at a better time. |

I agree, but the only problem with that is if they come out with more of the same crap play, than there is no off-week that'll stop the slide. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
Who doesn't think that the team came in, like a lot of us fans, thinking they would be able to stroll to a 3-1 record at the bye. Reality came hard and fast, but like Chico said, I think this bye comes at a very good time. They were getting there feet under them, but take the week put the first quarter behind them, and come out ready to jumpstart the season.
The fact that the other teams in the division didn't start out fast gives the team a good opportunity to get back in the hunt, and other than Dallas, I think Philly and NYG end up with losses to GB and Detroit, Dallas may split those. Bottom line, it's time for the Skins to step up, and I think they can, and I think they will. |

If the Redskins go 1-4 after Sunday Night, BYE weeks won't matter any more. The only thing we will all be talking about is how the only team they will have beaten is a Raiders team with a QB they cut and a back up RB. Let's face it, the fate of the rest of the Redskins season will be determined this Sunday. I know they came back from 3-6 last year, but we havent seen a really competent team show up yet this year. At 3-6 they were at least decent looking at times last year and could score points. This year's team has been blown out before half time on 2 occasions. That really scares me against an explosive Cowboys Offense. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
**** the cowboys. In the ass, no vasoline. That is all.

Combine how bad weve been playing with how good Romos been playing along with our suckass record in primetime and playing In dallas this could easily be another blowout by halftime. We can hope and pray that the rest has worked wonders on Rg3 and getting the 2 players off suspension will give us the boost we need, sure hope so. I have heard nothing on the status of Morris and Paulson, anybody have an update on them? |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
Last year, the team looked like crap at 3-6, especially that game against the Steelers...it was probably one of the lowest points of the season IMO.

I agree. We were awful in the Steelers game. I would add the Panthers game, too, as a sad showing. People are remembering 2012's 3-6 too fondly IMO. Further, if we have a bye turnaround this year, it will be after 4 games, not 9. My optimism continues. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I'm hoping for a better effort by our Defense with some guys coming back, but realistically, the Redskins are going to need to score 30+ to stay with the Cowboys. Here is to hoping the first 4 games and a bye week are enough to shake the rust off RGIII. I just hope his mechanics are better and he starts to look more like the RGIII of 2012. He may not be able to out run guys any more, but we really just need him to be more mobile and throw better than he has in September.

Ordinarily I wouldn't post ESPN garbage like this but since it's Dallas week, let's just add one more hate log to the fire.. Eric Allen says he'd rather have Tony Romo for the next 7 YEARS over RG3. Enjoy and vomit accordingly.

Exactly.. Way too soon to talk about playoffs. There are 8 teams in the NFC with 2 or 3 wins. Let's worry about Sunday and then next Sunday before we start even thinking about post season. No playoff talk until after Halloween. |

Good point. I agreed with the original post when i first read it. Now that i think about it my daughter was in the ER that day and Hurricane Sandy was on its way into town. Other than those two things the play of the Washington Redskins was about the worse thing going on in my life at that time. |

Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
Some facts, We get guys off of suspension this week and I bet we got healthy over the bye. RGIII had sometime to get some real reps in and everything They should click alot better.
On the Defense I think Rambo and the secondary needed that confidence booster in Oakland Expect them to play better too. We aren't going to lay down for the Cowboys they blew their load against denver I think |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
^^^ I think that's the biggest question I have- how has Robert used the bye week to rest and prepare?
It seems beyond past the point to make sense of weeks 1-3. It's just shellshocking. What does this team need to do to kick start the offense? It's promising that Kyle can change, rob get healthier, but this team needs to man the f up. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
Does the team find its soul this week? That's my bottom line.
One of best buds made a comment the other day about it. He's from NO and a huge saints fan. We watch almost every saints and skins game together, and apart from the fact the saints are much better prepared, better disciplined and much better coached on both sides of the ball, maybe the biggest difference is one team plays with a single purpose and the other is all over the place. Anyway he went on to say maybe shanny gate has lost the team. I didn't really think about it but then he said if Sean Peyton had left a severely injured Brees on the field and Brees suffered that kind of injury it would eff up the whole team unless Peyton and Brees showed unity going forward. I think that opportunity is probably already past here, but somehow this team has to come together. It's playing well below its talent level. Still no way to predict a win or loss this weekend. |
Count me the skeptic at this point. Until I see the magic, I don't believe it will happen. We contained (barely) a bad offense that was missing it's number one QB and RB.
You're a skeptic. Dallas has the 10th-ranked offense in the NFL even after last week's shoot-out with Denver. We're ranked #8. Both of our defenses are at the bottom of the league BUT we're getting reinforcements with a fresh Jarvis Jenkins and Rob Jackson. HUGE boosts to our D. We can definitely win in a shoot-out, but we dominated them once last year and have shown we can. This is the week RGIII is officially "back". We win 38-31. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
it's odd to say this against the cowboys, but this game is exactly what the team needs right now. A rivalry game that brings back flashes of last year, a team that the Skins know they can beat, but a team that showed a presence last week against Denver, so they are less likely to overlook them. A team who we should get some running game against, and who is prone to make fool hardy moves, that will counter balance our foolish penalties.
If there were ever a game that offers the Skins every opportunity to right the ship, this is it, on many different levels. Of course, the Skins have to go out and do it. That's the scary part. |

I think Hall is the man for the job this week. He seems to play his best ball against Bryant. Bryant is going to get his, but Hall will make some plays too. |
Re: It's DALLASS WEEK 2013 (Part 1)!!!
I feel like the teams mindset right now is more along the lines of "I know the guy next to me is going to help us win" more than its "I need to start making plays to help the team win"
