I am still going to wait until after his 3rd year to say whether he can pass or not. I saw some great passes from him when he had a healthy knee.
I am still in the wait and see mode, I've seen good and bad from RG3. He is too young and coming off an injury to declare him a mediocre passer.
I'm tired of the knee excuse. He's healthy. Besides, what does locking in on one guy and holding the ball have to do with his knee? If a defense stops him from running he's a below average QB right now. But it's not all on him. The line gets manhandled and the wr's stink and that's a big reason why we're a two win team. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
So you're going judge the guy in a no win situation? He's proven that he can come in and play well. The question is can he be a 16 game starter. I know this, I've seen enough of RG3 that I know that he's nothing special as a passer.
You will not get a 1st rounder for him period!!!!!!! Remember Smoker and his predecessors? Good QBs but not starter quality. MSU players(QBs anyway) generally do not make good NFL caliber starting material, but do make decent backups. My point is that Kirk isn't going to garner any teams 1st round pick. If they need a QB that bad they will draft one in the first round anyway. Right now RG III isn't looking so hot, and might become one of the greatest over hype jobs in NFL history when it is all said and done. We need Cousins as a solid backup and part time starter til we sort this mess out. If Shanny does get the boot after this season or next, the new HC might draft yet another QB(Braxton Miller if he stays for his senior year?), just as to have "his" guy. |

Also, the whole Cousins as trade bait was brought up over a few games of last season, and I emphasize LAST SEASON. That short order work isn't going to get a team to give up a coveted 1st rounder for a good backup. If a team is going to give up a first rounder for a good QB, why not just draft one with your first rounder. The whole concept is moronic. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
Considering how long the defense kept us in the game, a win was there. I didn't have any expectation coming into this game. I was ready to see our QB returning to form, and what we got was a regression.
I don't know if it is Kyle or Griffin going away from runs, but it seemed like he pushed to hard trying to out duel Manning. We had the lead our QB was getting killed and we don't try and ground and pound the Broncos. The defense had us in the game getting the ball back 4 times in the second half and scored a TD in the process. So even though it was 45-21, our defense played well. Yeah they gave up some big plays but they also made a few of thier own which could have helped us win the game if the offense had any type of consistency in the second half. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
I get so pumped when i watch the Skins dominant on the ground, controlling the line of scrimmage, the clock and basically physically pushing around the opposite team. It's nostalgic, reminds of the old skins. It's also mentally draining for the other team. Times have changed, but damn it our offense is dependent on running the ball. Why would Kyle stop all that gud shit?

You are probably right about getting a first rounder for cousins, not gonna happen, but you cant judge Kirk from mop up duty in this game. And to agree with some other posters, damn where would this secondary be if Hall wouldnt have taken that pay cut and resigned with us? And Morris and Helu both played well. Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
We are who our record says we are. Start evaluating for next season. When the vets get beat individually, play the young guys. No, I'm not saying "go on a seven game win streak" thoug I would like that. Start really evaluating who we have, and figure out why we collapsed and rectify that problem on the sidelines too.

I'm almost at this point. Dude is a one read QB, I never see him moving his head around until he's flushed out of the pocket and he HAS to look for another receiver. But then again, the WRs aren't doing any him favors, rarely is RG3 holding onto the ball for less than 5 seconds. |
Re: Broncos vs Skins Post Game Thread
We don't know how bad III knee's injury is. Cousins may get plenty of tape the next couple of weeks.
Cousins doesn't have much value yet cause he hasn't been given many chances. There is no way to truly judge his value yet. |

I haven't been ready to jump on the "fire ____" bandwagon, but it's clear that Kyle needs to move on. If he doesn't leave on his own, and Mike won't fire him, it's time to move on from Mike as well. How in the hell can you fuck that offense up in the 2nd half when your RB was averaging 6.1 yards per carry while keeping Manning off the field. YOU HAD ONE JOB KYLE!!
I'd say it's one of the worst 2nd half game calling I've ever seen in my life. (very few boot legs, no runs from Robert, not sure I saw any RO in the 2nd half) No, this game isn't all on Kyle because our WRs outside of Garcon are complete trash. How in the fuck did Morgan's agent persuade our FO to sign him to a 6 mil/yr contract. Robinson needs to go in the off-season. He's dropped way too many crucial passes that have cost us big time. Also, why in the hell is Fred Davis on the inactive list. You mean to tell me that one of our best pass receivers isn't worthy of a game day slot? GTFO!!!! I'm borderline on wanting to just flush this coaching staff and get in a hungry coach who's going to be willing to adapt and adjust to what he has instead of trying to fit square pegs in round holes. @JsteelznSkins Couple truths ,Kyle and RG3 have a lot of tension ,not so much Shanny himself, Davis is on the block. Still don't like 6 mill man, need a 2 ^^ pretty much explains where the tension is now. |

He isn't going to get us a first or maybe even a second round pick. He is a good backup, and a player we really need to hold on to. RG III might go down as the most over hyped player in league history. This kid was set for life via endorsements before he took his first snap, so he is rich even if he is a bust. Doesn't do anything for the organization though now does it? We need to hold on to Kirk because we need a decent backup, and might even have to hold the line with him as a starter ala Gus Frerotte did once Shuler was chucked. |

Going back to the Kyle issue.

Yeah I hated that as well. Watching it live it looked like it might have been a rather tough one to make from the original angle. The replay from the endzone showed that it should have been routine for Santana to make. he had it, then just dropped it. He needs to be shown the door when his contract is up. This franchise is so fucked in terms of talent and depth it isn't funny. Unless RG III comes back like gangbusters in 2014, the deal to get him was a disaster, and still might be considered a disaster even if he lives up to his billing, as he doesn't have much of a team around him. Mediocrity seems to be a nice catchphrase for this organization anymore. The more things change the more they stay the same. |

He did very well last season, but that was LAST season for a few games. The Skins fan from the ESPN blog thought we could get a first round pick for him based on last season. Ironically he posted it just before the pick six that Kirk threw. Ifwe could get that kind of value for him, why not keep him. I rather have Cousins than Grossman or an unproven commodity out of college. If this thing with Robert doesn't pan out it, we might be witnessing the next Frerotte/Shuler debacle happening next season. |
