Re: Around the NFL Week 10
The one word most often associated with Incognito is teammate. That the players are more sympathetic towards him in that way makes me think a desperate GM would scoop him up in a pinch. Incognito is only 30 years old. He could sit out an entire season and still come back once this blows over.

Re: Around the NFL Week 10
I think both guys will resume their careers elsewhere.
I think this is a case, much like bounty gate, where the curtain of the NFL is pulled back and the public doesn't like what it sees, but this is the reality of life in an NFL locker room. |

Martin seemed to distance himself from the jump. I think his previous experiences had much different atmospheres from a current NFL locker room. Harvard-Westlake is a prep school catering to a pretty affluent student base and Stanford, is of course, Stanford. But then again, there are more than a few acclimated NFL players who played for private schools and academically elite universities... this guy probably just had a different makeup. |

Hopefully not with the Skins either. I mean I really dont think Incognito was planning a hit on Martin. Lol. Im not even slightly interested in the story anymore. |

But I could see both of them scooping up a job somewhere else, just on the incident by itself. I mean, hell, if Manti Te'o can get a job after his fake girlfriend fiasco, I think anything is possible. I don't know how good they are as players. If Martin is only a second or third string player coupled with this bullying incident, then yeah, I'd say he's probably done.
Stop right there! Actually the settlers started calling them "reality challenged girlfriends". Most of them like to be identified by their specific screen names. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 10
Lydon Murtha's article is eye opening. It is unfortunate that this may end Incognito's career. I think another poster on here talked about Ricky Williams mental condition relating it to Jonathan Martin, I think that is spot on.
I also think Martin coming from a financially prudent family, spending thousands of dollars on going out didn't make since. So he felt forced and alienated to do it. I get it. Like Adam Archuleta who exposed the Redskins locker room, I'm not sure JM will ever be welcomed back on a team as a player. That may be why it looks like he is pursuing a lawsuit. He reaction is over the top IMO. If you bothered by it so much punch Incognito in the face and be done with it, or request force a trade. Now you have painted yourself as a snitch. |

You're talking about rearrainging your entire life. This apparently has been going on for quite some time, and it is not as if this all started a week ago and Martin flew off the handle. Personally I dont think Martins heart is in the game - that has been pretty much established. As for Incognito - the guy is a loose cannon who never learns. Eff him and his career. He stinks anyway. |

Interesting nugget: Jonathan Martin had lost his LT job to Bryant McKinnie just three days before he abruptly decided he had been "bullied." Might shed some light on the situation on the question of why. |

So even though this might be both parties at fault or all on Martin - Incognitos past is biting him in the ass and thats his own fault. Anyway im with Panda. Done with it and glad it aint us. |

Good look Jeff Ireland, good look.

Re: Around the NFL Week 10
Well I dont know what to think after all Incognito teamates coming out today and strongly defending him. Didnt hear alot of good opinions of Martin from those guys.
Pro-Incognito Fins leave no room for Martin - Miami Dolphins Blog - ESPN "Several players were asked Wednesday if Martin would be welcomed back to the locker room. They declined comment. "That's not my position to take on that," Hartline said. "I do have a position, but I don't think it's fair to share it." By not answering, it seems pretty clear what side of the fence Hartline and many Dolphins players were on Wednesday. Whether society agrees or not, Miami's players chose Incognito over Martin." wow |
Re: Around the NFL Week 10
Of course Incognito's teammates are going to defend him. If they didn't people would accuse them of ether being oblivious morons or moral monsters.
I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and wait a few weeks for the real story to come out. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 10
Incognito has a long history of meathead behavior. It's really not much of a stretch to think he could have taken things overboard. But yeah I agree we need to wait and see how this all plays out.

Yeah I agree. The story has really flipped over the last few days. Hard to tell what's going to happen as a result of this. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 10
My intuition is Martin never plays in the NFL again. Incognito will have a job by next year. Not that I'm defending Incognitos character, but like bounty gate we know a lot goes on within the nfl we don't really wanna know about. And this whole scenario involves the fraternity angle, unlikely to change IMO and prolly shouldn't anyway.
Martin lost his job and then started complaining. He's now in counseling. He's done. |

but i thought people were saying Jonathan Martin might end up playing with Andrew Luck....is it really a possibility that Incognito gets signed by someone else and Martin is done with the NFL??

Martin is gonna get traded in the draft to a spot with a good locker room where people respect each other. I could see a on the west coast or with luck in Indy. Martin ability is not question, someone will give a fourth or fifth round based on that alone. |

Still can't believe the colts traded a first round pick for that man. Surprised how badly the Colts, specifically Luck are looking right now against the Rams. Tavon Austin has finally arrived. |
