Re: D-Line.
now lets all sing cum by ya and think about how all of our troubles will go away when we are winning. We are all just frustrated, thats it frustrated b/c we haven't been to the playoffs since 99' so lets join hands and pray
|
Re: D-Line.
Let's keep something in mind. Last year we had a solidly ranked defense and this is with an offence that was well in a word putrid, especially when Brunnell was taking the snaps behind center. I think the offence should improve dramatically this year, especially the o-line. If we get a serious old-school Burgund-n-Gold running game going...look out NFC.
|
Re: D-Line.
If we bring back the same exact lineup on the defensive line I won't be disappointed at all. They were a very solid unit last year, and hopefully Daniels can stay healthy and give us a bit of a pass rush.
|
Re: D-Line.
Am I the only one that remembers the D Line being projected as being a revolving door? The media was saying last season would be awful because we had no one on that D-Line.
We'll be better than last season, we haven't lost anyone that was a critical component. |
Re: D-Line.
my bad for the negative feedback daseal, you just have moronic posts... "now dont take it personal" its your football knowledge, not you as a person....
and offiss, lol, i think you fall under the same category of knowledge, but its just MO... "dont take it personal" ... the giants had marshall at DE that corrupted OT's with LT which was a DE most of the time... if you actually watch the games back then, you would see parcells using a 5-2 D... with marshall and LT on opposite sides. LT just didnt come out of stance, but was on the line majority of the time, whether he rushed or fell into coverage |
Re: D-Line.
wow, i always see a dumb post, and its you, lol
DE is a huge peice of the D puzzle we are missing, and should be addressed. i love the blitzing style of williams myself, but having a pressure front four makes us #1 D in the league hands down. we need a DE speed rusher w/o using lbs... its common sense deutsche.... i mean daseal
Wait - doesn't "deutsche" mean "german," in german? What kind of insult is this? Did you mean "Douche?" |

Re: D-Line.
Especially when you can't f-ing spell.
Also, "jrocx69" is a pretty busted name. With names like "Ade Jimoh Fan Club" floating around, you don't stand a chance. Sorry, but you are minor league. |
Re: D-Line.
I agree with Drift, you can use a name as a quality indicator to some extent.
Except mine. Mine is purely descriptive as both Brud and Riggo44 can attest. |

Now I will straighten you out about a couple of your ridiculous fallasies you have perpetrated in this thread, Parcells always used a 3-4 D, and he alway's lined Marshall and Taylor on the same side, how do I know, I live 30 minutes from Giant's stadium and have watched them through the years more than the Skins, the fact is Parcells philosphy is to line up his best pass rushers on the same side because they are tougher to account for, therefore they are tougher to stop, essentially going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 on passing downs where he would blitz Taylor 95% of the time. At no time did Parcells ever show a 5 man front, something tells me you didn't even know Parcells used a 3-4 D which is how I believe you came up with the 5-2 assuming taylor's presents as a blitzing OLB gave you the 5th linemen. Perhaps you should be the one who actually needs to watch some game film MY FRIEND, and stop trying to overwhelm everyone with your ignorance! |
Re: D-Line.
LOL... wow shows how much you know
ask Joe T if marshall and LT were on the same side |
Re: D-Line.
jrocx69, if you're going to insult others like this why don't you just go where you belong over with extemeskins...you'll fit right in there. this site is for civilized people...yeah we disagree on pretty much everything but when you do it in a civilized manner you actually can gain more knowledge from it.
and if you are going to insult someone at least check a dictionary so that you don't end up looking like an ass....that one backfired on you bigtime don't you think? |

"Marshall joined the Giants as a second-round draft choice in 1983 (the 37th overall pick) after a stellar career at LSU. Taylor was entering his third season. The Giants then played a 3-4 defense and Marshall and Taylor often lined up next to each other on the right side. In the decade they played together, the two stalwarts combined for 198.5 sacks." Score one for Offiss...game, set, match! |

Re: D-Line.
Yes our d-line is horrible.
But some geniuses on this site would rather us take a CB with the overall 9 pick than address our grand canyon d-line. How logical. |
Re: D-Line.
Our "horrible" d-line gave up a league low average yards per carry (3.1) against the run last year.
That "horrible" d-line was also responsible for giving up just 81.5 yards per game against the run, 2nd overall in the NFL. If that's horrible I'll take that any day. So who's the real "genius" around here? |
Re: D-Line.
Exactly, our line did the job they were given. We pressure the QB in other ways which worked very well.
If it ain't broke - don't fix it. |

Re: D-Line.
Record notwithstanding, we did so much better with a supposed crap D-Line. The record was on the abysmal offense, no fingers can be pointed at the D.
|
Re: D-Line.
And our record was?
what? do you expect the defense to score all the points too..the record we had was due to the poor performance from the offense as a whole...from the o line to the qb to the receivers all the way up to the coaches... the defense did better than any of us thought they would. it's just plain ridiculous say the defense was the reason we had that record. |
Re: D-Line.
And our record was?
So the team's record should be pinned all on the defensive line?? Sorry but they did their job, and considering the collection of no-names they are, they exceeded anyone's expectations. Your posts are mad weak. |

The Defensive Line was great compared to our sorry ass quarterbacks. |

The Defensive Line was great compared to our sorry ass quarterbacks.
So our numorous false start penalties and holding penalties all are realated directly to Brunell and Ramsey, not by any means have anything to do with Jansen having a season ending injury in preseason which cause our team to scramble throughout most of the season to try and find a replacement for Jansen? Also, I guess that Ramsey and Brunell are also to blame for our WR's not being able to hold on the ball? I am sorry but you are putting way too much blame on our QB's!!! They did the best that they could. As for our d-line IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST D-LINES LAST SEASON!!!! PERIOD!!! :coach: |
Re: D-Line.
the second half of last year we did not throw those all out blitzies at offenses like the first half-a pas rushing DE is needed-when you pull back from the blitzies he still have someone to cause havoc
