Cousins Open to Trade.
I'd do a straight up trade with the Browns for Josh Gordon/Kirk Cousins.
Hell I'd even throw in a 4th rounder.
Gordon is worth a first rounder though not a fourth and a third. I say a third because that is probably Cousins true value as a draft pick now. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
If the 'skins can land a third rounder for Kirk, by all means, do the trade.
|

I guess I should have added the sarcasm face after my OP.....:laughing2 The Browns would be foolish to get rid of their (1) true play maker on offense. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Cousins = Nick Foles
Play him behind a dominant line and you'll be pleased with the results. Play him behind anything else and you'll be no better than 8-8. I'd take a 3rd. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I don't really know what will happen with Cousins because as some have pointed out, RG3's health is far from a sure thing and the same can be said about his play. Nobody really knows 100% that he is going to go back to being what he was before the injury. Now -- he should be much better to begin 2014, but i think its foolish to stand back and say we know for sure that he will be awesome again.
But - they have basically said that RG3 is the starter no matter what, so unless injury happens, no chance of Cousins coming in like he did last year. With that mentality, a player like Kirk might want to go somewhere else where he at least gets a shot.... |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Cousins will always resemble Wrecks: runs hot, runs cold, prone to turnovers.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
If I were the Redskins, I'd need to see RG3 bounce back before I deal Cousins. Gibbs use to say the backup QB is the 2nd most important guy on the team and I could not agree more. I think everyone is just assuming that RG3 will bounce back. We have two young drafted guys that have shown they can both play on 4 year deals. QB is one of the few positions where we have depth. I hold on to that depth for another year.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I think we get a 2nd and a 5th for him. Outside shot of getting a 1st.
(I don't think anyone is judging him on the last three of his starts for the Barnum and Bailey Redskins. The kid has a laser, is a hard worker, has poise in the pocket, is mobile and is smart. Someone will give up a second and a later round pick, although I could see him going for a 1st. Call me crazy, but I think it'll happen.) |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Even in 2012 Cousins had his ups (Browns) and downs (Falcons). Anyone who thinks that he is a bona fide starter or gives up a high draft pick is expecting him to show something he hasn't: consistency, including consistent ball security.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I'd say the high/low on draft picks for Cousins would be mid 2nd to high 3rd.
I doubt that the Skins would trade him for less than a high 3rd Round pick. |

Im for keeping Our American Cousin but if we trade him Ive found a quality back up for Bob. Watch this zone read at :49 its a smoooth as silk.

He came in to that Falcons game cold and against a very good team. I dont think u can call that a down. He has never had a consistent run with the first team starters. On top of all of this he like Griff plays behind one of thee worst offensive lines in football without a strong group of wr's. Based on the mess this team has been lately i think it is way to early to label either one of them as a boom or bust. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Jason Campbell would make a perfect back up. It would make my season to laugh at the Browns every week Cousions throws 2, 3 ,and 4 picks.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I think he ends up going for a 3rd and a 5th to the Vikings or Jags

Absolutely not. I do not want that clown anywhere near this team ever again. |

now that's a trolling statment. Campbell bout done in the league, he probably needs to get a resume together. |

Those are pretty lofty goals. :) Edit: i think we should just concern ourselves with not laughing at the skins at this point. |
He played way better than Cousins this year.
JC was dead last in qbr for qualifying qb's. Cousins didnt even play enough to make the list. I dont ever want to see him in a skins uniform again. We need to move as far away from the past as possible. Only thing JC would be familiar with due to his playing days here is the uniform. Its a completely different offense with completely different personnell and coaching staff. |

That's just silly sentimentalism. I would support signing Campbell if we trade Cousins, and he played well enough this season to at least warrant consideration. Colt McCoy and Tarvaris Jackson are two more backups I like. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Jason Campbell's worst annual QBR EVER was a 73 and he's had several years in the 80's. That's not a guy you want to start but those numbers are not bad for a backup.
For reference, Kirk Cousins' career QBR is a 68. |

The NFL is full of fat guys. He had a cannon for an arm, was a smart guy....and for his size was actually pretty mobile. They say he is 320 pounds now....I think that's generous. Plus what most people don't realize is Lorenzen won a super bowl ring as Eli's backup.... |

I doubt that it would happen, but I don't get why people get their panties in a bunch at that idea. For most teams, if your backup QB has to play a lot, you're pretty much screwed. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Jason Campbell has got to be the most butterfingered and frustrating Redskin QB I have ever had to suffer through.
If he ever came back I would gouge out my abdomen with a garden trowel and march down the street singing a Justin Bieber/Bruno Mars medly. |

This isn't the first time you've cracked one of my subliminal messages. Next rounds on me. :joecool: |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
If we dont get a 2nd rounder for Cousins then we need to keep him. In my opinion he is worth that to us, If RG3 gets hurt, who is going to be he is back up? It has to be worth while for us. Trading him for a 3rd rounder does not get us an impact player, we need a player who can come right in a contribute. If we can't get one then we keep him.

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Hmm what's Patrick Ramsey up to these days?
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I wasn't being serious about Campbell, but based on the Kirk Cousins performance scale JC looks pretty darn average. Extra medium, the Kirk Cousins craze.

So I was right? Anyways Cousins is very replaceable imo. Its probably a multi pick deal based on play. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Cousins is certainly replaceable. He would probably be replaced by a veteran journeyman. But you still don't give him away because, unlike the player that is likely to replace him, Cousins has upside and that upside has value.
You either get the deal you want for him or you keep him. |
