Week 1 Sun. Sep. 7 @ Houston Texans W-Texans have no QB
Week 2 Sun. Sep. 14 vs. Jacksonville JaguarsW-Jags are improved but see above about the QB
Week 3 Sun. Sep. 21 @ Philadelphia EaglesL-It's great that D. Jax will be pumped but our defense isn't ready
Week 4 Thu. Sep. 25 vs. New York GiantsW-Giants are going to be terrible on O
Week 5 Mon Oct. 6 vs. Seattle SeahawksL-We will play them tough but lose
Week 6 Sun. Oct. 12 @ Arizona Cardinals L-Cross country trip after a Monday night? Thanks NFL
Week 7 Sun. Oct. 19 vs. Tennessee Titans W-Titans are going to be one bad football team.
Week 8 Mon Oct. 27 @ Dallas Cowboys W-Their D will be as bad as their O is good
Week 9 Sun. Nov. 2 @ Minnesota Vikings L-We get caught celebrating beating the Boys and looking ahead to the bye
Week 10Bye Week
Week 11 Sun Nov. 16 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers W-Bucs also have no QB
Week 12 Sun Nov. 23 @ San Francisco 49ersL-The Niners are too damn good
Week 13 Sun Nov. 30 @ Indianapolis Colts L-Luck will outperform RG3
Week 14 Sun Dec. 7 vs. St. Louis Rams W-Can we please stop talking about the RG3 trade now?
Week 15 Sun Dec. 14 @ New York Giants W-Giants still gonna suck in December
Week 16 Sat. Dec. 20 vs. Philadelphia Eagles L-This depends on who is healthier at this stage of the season.
Week 17 Sun. Dec. 28 vs. Dallas CowboysW-Stephen Jones may be coaching by this point.

On the poll I picked 5-8 but I think 9 wins is attainable if things fall right health wise and development (RG3, Keenan Robinson, Amerson) wise. I don't see this as a double digit loss team if all the key players are healthy. Can't wait until kickoff!
I didnt think I was twisting the truth. The thread asked for my prediction and I gave it and I thought I was being an optimist. The only way this team is better than last year is if RG plays better (which I think he will) and why I think they will double last year's win total.
Stating the only way we get better is with rg3 plays better is a little short sighted. Special teams, front 7, and the Oline need and will be better. I'm not going into the season thinking about the performance of the qb.

On this team the QB is the straw that stirs the drink. Without him playing well they dont win much at all.

This is true. And the pass rush had better be the straw for the defense alone.

People constantly overrate the importance of QB's in the NFL. Teams do that too with the outrageous money they spend on them.

Thats because in todays NFL, to win a SB, you usually need one of two things. A great defense or a great QB. 11 players for defense or 1 player for QB. Teams usually try for the 1 player over 11 players.

Well I believe the qb position is the most important on the field, but I wouldn't sell rg3 short. Of course he needs to play well, but I don't put a lot stock in rg3 performance last year. He was injuried, played with an interior Oline that was a mess pass protecting, and had a bad relation with a pos, distance head coach. Let's not forget rg3 and the offense was constantly put in bad positions by a largely ineffective defense and a special teams unit that was historically bad. I'm more concerned with the Oline overall and Jordan reed's health on the offense.

The lion's share of this season falls on the health of RG3, DJax, and Trent Williams- and the coaching prowess of Jay Gruden. If we get good fortune on those four things I say we make the playoffs or miss them barely just...

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread

I decided to take a super scientific approach to breaking down wins and losses... a coin flip. Heads = win, tails = loss. So here we go:

9/7 at Houston LOSS
9/14 Jacksonville LOSS
9/21 at Philadelphia LOSS
9/25 NY Giants LOSS
10/6 Seattle WIN
10/12 at Arizona WIN
10/19 Tennessee LOSS
10/27 at Dallas WIN
11/2 at Minnesota LOSS
11/9 Bye
11/16 Tampa Bay LOSS
11/23 at San Francisco WIN
11/30 at Indianapolis LOSS
12/7 St. Louis WIN
12/14 at NY Giants LOSS
12/20 Philadelphia LOSS
12/28 Dallas LOSS

So there you go, the coin has spoken and the coin doesn't like our chances this year.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread

I think this year hinges on defense and special teams not being as terrible as last year. I like that Gruden is sticking with our run game and I don't see our offense being as bad as they were last year. But if our defense and special teams are terrible again, I only see a 5-7 win season. If defense is solid I think we'll be somewhere around .500, and if defense is great we could have a 10-6 season.

Awful lot of people picking us to to beat the reigning world champions who made Peyton Manning and the most dominant offense of all time look like they didn't belong on the same field as the Seahawks. I'm going 8-8

Totally different scenarios between the SB and a midseason MNF game. I picked us to win. My rationale, they are coming east, the Skins will use the playoff memory to motivate, and my bold prediction Griffin will shock and awe that game.

It will just make the Skins' season that much sweeter if they put it all together.

Sadly I still want to see the Eagles crash and burn, but most reports from their camp don't seem to indicate that.

I think that Yahoo prediction was a bit off but not much. I think the Skins are definitely in the bottom third of teams in the league.

Its been interesting to read some of the reports from Richmond about the joint WAS/NE practices. It sounds like the Skins are pretty far off from what an elite team is doing.

And you woulda thought under a new coaching regime the offense would be running smooth in its first scrimage...?

Actually heard Alfmo ran the ball extremely well against the first team D yesterday. Made a couple starting LBs look like bitches.

I also heard the Skins ripped off a couple of good plays. It sounds like NE pretty much ripped off big plays for the entire practice. I really think that the end of the article sums up why the Skins are bottom dwellers and teams like NE have year in year out success.

Tom Brady, in a no huddle scrimmage picked apart our D.

Also heard our pass rush was better than theirs. With the kind of guys they have up front, that speaks good things for both our pass rush and our O-line. Athough on one hand, it's too early to be making judgments about any aspect of our team. But then on the other hand, it's better that we heard "Lichtensteiger made Wilfork his b*tch" instead of "Redskins O-line hapless versus Pats".

It is expected that a renovated team struggle with NE in August scrimmages.

The odd thing that stood out for me was Gruden's report that the defense seemed easily winded. The defense hasn't built stamina in 2 weeks of camp?
