Re: The Cut List 2014
Will someone update this list as we learn about new cuts this weekend? Or will there be a new list started?
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Multiple sources reporting that Tevita Stevens and Richard Crawford have been cut. Not sure those are surprises.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
I think Crawford is PS eligible
|

He is. Stevens too, I think. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
I think Crawford is PS eligible
Although he hasn't played well, he's not fully back from his injury. It'd be a shame to lose him. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
7th Round Draft Pick (TE) Ted Bolser is outta here! Gone are the Vinny days when we automatically keep our draft picks for 3 years no matter how good they are!
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
So... Crawford, Stevens, Bolser, Malone, Robert Thomas, Kowalski, Cromartie-Smith, and Doss. Am I missing anybody?
|

Re: The Cut List 2014
Malone Cut? We officially do not have a punter. Tress "Wrong" Way is not going to cut it...
|

Bolser could develop into a good TE, he played mostly slot at Indiana....I hope he makes it to the practice squad, and gets bigger |
Re: The Cut List 2014
Was Malone that bad that Way actually beat him out?
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
I thought Malone was decent. Didn't he a boot a punt pretty well last night?
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
I would be interested in punter Kasey Redfern, cut by the Jags.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Jackson did a nice job filling in for Orakpo in 2012. Things change fast. I vaguely recall folks suggesting OL Bruce Campbell at one point who was cut by the Jets. The DE that Philly cut is an intriguing prospect. Army ranger or something like that - huge guy. But our D line looks pretty set.
The Eagles D line is horrible. If you're picking up their sloppy seconds then you're in real shit shape. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
Whoever the Redskins cut from the Redd, Thompson, Seastrunk trio, one will probably end up in TB. They lost their RB for half the year and were pretty impressed with the skins RB's.

I wish all of them well. If the Skins cut Seastrunk I'm filing a fan grievance. |
Rich Tandler tweeted: So Royster, Seastrunk, and Thompson all released. “I saw that coming” said absolutely nobody. #Redskins
All 3 cut. I doubt all 3 make it to practice squad. Too many teams need speed RB's |

Re: The Cut List 2014
John Keim tweeted
FWIW: Asked Redskins source to confirm Chris Thompson's release. He said, "You might be wrong." Could be just waiting to tell. who knows. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
Another tweet
Could bode well for Akeem Jordan. RT @RavensInsider: Redskins placing Darryl Sharpton on injured reserve-designated to return |
Re: The Cut List 2014
Does this mean that Silas Redd makes the team as an UDFA? If so, that would be quite an accomplishment for him.
Also, I wonder if the Skins have their eye on another RB who is not currently on the team. Is a trade possible? |
Re: The Cut List 2014
@MikeJonesWaPo: Source says Phillip Thomas, Chase Minnifield and Everette Brown have all been cut.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Looks like Hocker is gone and we're keeping Fleabath.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
@NBCdianna silas redd will make the roster. after cutting Seastrunk, Thompson/Royster, this makes sense. Reddd had strong summer.
|

Alfmo, redd and helu as the 3rd down back. Makes sense. Not as surprised by Lache release, but getting to the ps will be interesting |
I think keeping Redd says power running will be very important in our scheme. Gotta have a guy to back up Alfmo if your scheme depends on yards after contact
|

Redd seems like he has closer skillset to Morris, better backup if injury happens. Wanted Seastrunk to stick around, hopefully we can get him on the PS. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
@rich_tandlerCSN If Hank, Bowen go to PUP and Neild to IR, two more moves to be made. #Redskins.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
So @john_Keim wraps up:
Moves that have been reported today. Cut: Seastrunk, Royster, Thompson, N. Williams, E. Brown,Minnifield, P.thomas, Hocker. Sharpton to IR |
Re: The Cut List 2014
So Thomas cut. too bad. Thought he had a shot at being a solid safety. Does he have PS eligibility since he was on IR all last year?
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
A whole lot of young names on this list, surprised to see guys like Phillip Thomas on there. Hopefully we'll have a strong practice squad, but I think a guy like Seastrunk will get snatched up.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Phillip Thomas is a surprise, also the fact that neither Thompson nor Seastrunk made it was surprising, but I gotta tip my hand to Silas Redd, he really looked like our 2nd best RB all pre-season.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Nick Williams and Seastrunk?! I'm living a nightmare! :Flush:
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
I have a sinking feeling we will regret not keeping Seastrunk. I wonder whether Thomas' foot injury was enough to scare off the coaching staff. Guys with injury histories (Thompson Crawford Thomas) aren't faring well.
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
I think expanded practice squad rules must play a part. Team must feel easier to get younger guys thru the waivers
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Looks like Hocker got hazed for nothing. Whoops.
Nick Williams and Seastrunk?! I'm living a nightmare! :Flush:
All the WR's they kept are clearly better than Nick Williams. We're loaded at that position. It'll be interesting to see if anything else happens at the RB position and what becomes of Seastrunk. |
Re: The Cut List 2014
I imagine every fan base out there is saying "I hope we keep ____ but I doubt he makes it through to the PS."
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
Keeping someone like miller or Bowen but letting Lache walk is frustrating. That's a mistake
|
Re: The Cut List 2014
so just saw that Eric Winston was released. This makes his 3rd or 4th team since Houston right? What happened around him? He was supposedly really good, which brings me to the question - I have always been against him mainly from a he's not worth what you would have to pay him, but at this point it seems like he would come at a reasonable price, is there any chance we get him? Is he done?
He's got to be at least as good as Polumbus, and one would think a bit better. |
