It's going to be tough cutting either RB's Redd, Seastrunk and Thompson, they all look like keepers and would hate to lose any when if they end up in the PS.

I haven't been impressed with long or Crawford...Trent Murphy hasn't done much either...didn't notice too many issues w moses...which is good

Breeland may end up being a starter soon. I can't see how they can cut seastrunk...too explosive to risk losing

I'll give our 2nd string offense some props. They've pretty much stomped much of the competition they've faced in pre-season. A good sign of depth.

I don't know if Roysters blocking saves him a roster spot. He can't run like Redd or Seastrunk.

That is one fast dude. I love that he's not a really small back like Thompson, yet can move like that.

Murphy looked good out there.

Grant was his usual self... still saying he's a stud.

Royster? Meh. Now I'm thinking Morris, Helu, Young, Seastrunk, and then either Thompson or Redd. That's a tough decision, but at least both have PS eligibility.

Tress Way looked better than Malone. Curious to see who they keep there.

Pretty sure Will Compton is making this roster. Great game by him.

I like our depth this year... still a little shaky where we knew we were... o line and secondary, but im liking the rest of the depth. Hard, really hard choices to make.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

I'm hoping the Skins keep Redd and Seastrunk. If there was truly a RB competition in preseason, Redd won. Seastrunk is much too explosive to let go. He could become the HR hitter they want and he wouldn't last on the practice squad.

The loser of the PK competition is us. Forbath is more accurate but he is terrible on kickoffs. The Skins should keep looking at PK's.

If Gabe Miller doesn't make the team, somebody is lying about there being a competition. Gabe is a football player. He lacks a little on speed and quickness but that is all he lacks. He can usually make up for those deficiencies by knowing how to play the game.

Can we please trade for or pickup an OG?
Lauvau - Average
Chester - Over the Hill
Reserves - All meh.

At OT, Morgan Moses looks promising to me. I'm wondering how many more free runs at the QB Palumbus will be allowed to give up before Moses becomes the starter.

Compton may make the team at OT but he's just taking up space on the roster, IMO.

I'd cut Colt to be able to keep a good prospect at another position. He probably won't be picked up by another team and the Skins should be able to re-sign him in case of an emergency.

Richard Crawford is almost certain to be cut. If he is cut, it'll be a shame because he is not fully recovered from his injury and he is a shadow of his former self as a football player.

I suppose they'll keep Tracy Porter, not that he's earned a spot in preseason.

E.J. Biggars played very well in preseason. He's playing with passion, he's tackling much better than he did last season, and he has been a factor on ST. I criticized him when he wasn't playing well so, in fairness, I want to praise him now.

I must be Trenton Robinson's biggest fan. He plays his heart out and he's good on ST. I hope he somehow makes the team.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

^ agree with most of what your saying.

To me, the preseason "heros" who came through: Trenton Robinson, Silas Reed, Doss, Wil Compton, and Gabe Miller is honerable mention.

To me the most interesting choices will be RB and what to do with Aldrick Robinson. Are we keeping 6 WRs?

IMO Silas Reed has beaten out Royster and Thompson. Seastrunk is PS all the way. Thompson just doesnt look the part imo.

I would think Aldrick Robinson has trade value of a late round.

Doss from Southern should be PS

Would Seastrunk make it to the PS is the biggest question out there.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

I would be more than ok if they kept Redd and Seastrunk and cut Thompson and Royster. Neither will hopefully see a ton of time with Alfmo and Helu the starters but both played well against various levels in the preseason.
I hope they only keep 5WR and put NWilliams on the practice squad. Not sure if I want Moss or Robinson as number 5.

I'm with the keep Seastrunk and Redd crowd, although I'd keep Seastrunk on the regular roster and use him one or two plays a game to get some pop.

Geathers had an excellent preseason. I hope we keep him.

Hate to say it, when you're at the end of your career, as Santana Moss is, and there are at least 3 and possibly 4 WR's ahead of you on the depth chart, it may be time to go.

No, you don't cut an Aldrick Robinson and keep another WR who is not a starter and is near the end of his career. Robinson has stepped up his game. He is a legitimate deep threat whose speed must be respected by the opposition. He is the logical man to backup DeSean Jackson.

However, it is possible that they could keep as many as 6 WR's. If they do, Moss would stay. Right now, Santana is probably a better WR than either AR or the rookie but his age will probably work against him.

i watched until half way through the 3rd.

i liked thompson. he had good short bursts and had good wiggle with his hips. didnt realize how small he is.

LB miller was everywhere.

Murphy is tall and it looks like he plays tall. if he can learn to play with his frame he should be a solid starter in a few years. i dont think he will be much help this year.

neild - any update?

Gruden loves Moss. I dont see him cut, he would have played last night if there was a chance he was being considered as a cut.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

I think Redd has really shown to me that he should be on the team. I'm not sure I love any of our options at the #2 spot right now. If one of the younger guys could just become adequate at pass protection I think they'd be a lock.

Helu is what he is...I think we have 3 guys who are younger, cheaper, and just as fast or faster. Cut him.

Royster just isn't good. He gets what is there. He didn't look any better or worse against scrubs. His only plus is his pass pro. Cut him.

The problem is Robinson has always (I think) shown up in preseason. He has not in most games. That said if they keep him and cut Moss, fine. I just don't want 6 receivers, plus Hankerson on PUP. Keep 5 and an extra RB.

I have a hard time believing we'll cut Moss. I think we'll have 6 WRs this year. ONly a matter of time until one get hurt anyways. Really can't cut either Moss or Robinson.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

If Helu were anything less than a lock, he would've played last night.

Also Seastrunk has to make the final roster, IMO. Every single team around the NFL has had a young RB flash this preseason, but none of them have Seastrunk's speed. I just don't think he would clear waivers.

Re: Bucs Vs. Skins Gameday Thread

I wonder if we can finagle a trade for Redd? I doubt it, but there are some RB starved teams out there, and he put a heckuva a good film out there. If not, you gotta keep him and Seastrunk and put Thompson on the practice squad. (heckuva paycut there!)

If the Skins decide to keep only five receivers, the choice of whom to cut would be between Robinson and Moss.

Robinson has really stepped it up. He catches everything now and he runs the intermediate routes much better than he did before. Also, he is the only WR on the team other than DeSean Jackson who has the speed to threaten the defense deep. Keeping him is a no brainer.

I love Santana Moss but it would be bad business to keep him over a player who is TEN years younger, costs less, and can do more.

Sign me up for this.

It would be a big mistake to put Seastrunk on the PS. He has rare explosion as a RB. Big upside there. He'd be picked up by another team and become the type of 3rd down back we wanted. Don't be foolish. Let it happen here.

Jay Gruden needs to get over his crush on Chris Thompson. Thompson will never be able to touch what Seastrunk could become in the near future.
