Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
Cushings healthy and dangerous too. Mercilus, brooks reed. The entire front 8 over there is stingy. jon joseph is no slouch either paired with im guessing will be desean though garcon vs joseph is a possibility.
I think we take this though. Rg will be ready i have a good feeling hes gonna make quick reads. Skins 27 houston 14 |
Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
Look for the Skins to use DeSean as a runner a couple of times in the manner that Harvin was used last night.

Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
The Skins O doesnt play very good but the Texans plays worse.

Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
I think the keys to this game are...
A good pass rush. With Hall and Amerson staying on their respective sides of the field, Amerson is going to be matched up with Andre Johnson at times. Don't give Fitzy time to take advantage. A great running game. RG is probably going to struggle and their run defense was 19th in the league last year. Alfred and Helu need to take over. Good special teams performance. I think this is going to be a close game, so field position will matter a lot. |

I def agree this will be a close one. |

If the Skins are playing from behind 10+ in the 4th with Watts and Clowny teeing off sweet mother of pearl!! Better call the amber lamps ,that would be a nightmare. But hopefully we'll be comfortably ahead in the fourth. HTTR

Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
Skins 27 - Texans 17
The defense sets the tone with 3 turnovers leading to a couple early FGs, and 6 sacks, but gives up a few big plays. AlfMo - 1 TD, 120 yards, some key 3rd down conversions RG3 - 1 TD, 230 yards passing, 1TD 20yd rushing, sacked 3x, 1FMB & 1INT DJax- 1 TD 90yds |

I just want him to stay healthy for a season. I'm stoked for the game, heading back to my old college town in Frederick to watch at The Greene Turtle. Woot! |

I don't think he's going to light it up. But we need a running game for him to be efficient. If there's no running game, you'll see the same RG3 we saw last year and the preseason. |
Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
I expect a lot of misdirection plays aimed at clowney to get him thinking. One play I hope to never ever see again is the pitch back to Morris.

Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
The dude started the Super Bowl for them last year and was their 17 week starter. They got one guy back off of IR at SS and signed TJ Ward. Duke was caught in a numbers game and got cut. Is he a pro bowl player? No. Is he better than what we have here currently (especially missing BW for the first two games and only god knows how many others this season)? Yes.
We didn't have another experienced SS on the roster who had played a game in the NFL. Rambo is a FS who is being moved to SS out of nessecity. Thomas has never been healthy enough to play a game and the other guy (Davis I believe) is best suited as a special teamer who could develop into someone who can play from scrimmage.
Yeah I think this move totally flew under the radar. If im not mistaken, this guy had a hell of a game against us last year. |
Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
Nacho is a hitter. They can at least use him on a safety blitz. He'll get Fitzpatrick looking over his shoulder, for sure. I'm going to assume that he'll play on ST, as well.
I believe that he'll help us - not save us, but help us this season. Picking him up is a good example of team building. |

Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
it's the day before the season opener
if you can't get all ginned up and hopeful for the season at this time then what's the point? preseason means nothing. almost half the playoff teams from last year won't make it this year. if the NFL was so predictable, especially prior to week 1, it wouldn't be so popular; it'd be boring. get ready for griffin's second healthy season :) |
Re: Redskins v. Texans Pregame Thread
Im as hopeful as a hog in the mud. I agree with your take on the pre-season, and with Griffs second healthy season. The great unknown is can he be a pass first qb?

I would be happy if he would just Russell it all season long. Throw 20-25 mostly short passes a game and use the receivers' speed to pick up yards after the catch. Limit the shots downfield until/unless he really starts rolling. Let Alfred be the man this year. He's not merely a solid back like a certain clown says here, he's a guy that can carry the offense. |

No. See DirectTV, No. Apple TV is not supported to view NFL SUNDAY TICKET. Apple users can view on their MAC computer, iPad (iOS v3.2 or higher), iPhone (iOS v3.1.3 or higher) or iPod Touch(iOS v3.1.3 or higher). |

That's what he's saying: https://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3302/~/can-i-use-my-apple-tv-to-view-nfl-sunday-ticket%3F I don't know the 'whys' but there's obviously something Apple TV can't handle to relay it. Whether it's specifically designed to block it at DirecTV's request, or a simple resolution/format problem... I have no idea. But DirecTV specifically says this will not work. My mac has a thurderbolt (minidisplay port) adapter on it and I run a mini display port to hdmi dongle off it to display stuff on my TV. Not sure what generation iPad you have and what connections are available, but that may work for you. |
