As much as I hate to say it, this is the beginning of the end of the season.

Used to love to watch the 'skins play in prime time. Not anymore.
I'm not even going to guess on an outcome. I just hope the Redskins put up an effort. |

Russel Wilson is a better QB. period |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Wilson is overrated. Least Mode is a joke. Sherman is an empty chatterbox. Earl Thomas is a pu$$y.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
We got bent over by the suckass Giants. We'll need hospitalization after a Super Bowl calibur Seahawks team.
Seahawks - 90 Redskins - Don't even bother |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
I am changing my prediction, to much pessimism on the board. The defense shows up and holds their offense to only field goals.
Seahawks: 33 Skins: 17 |
The optimism in this thread is inspiring!
I know right. I guess I'm still optimistic because I saw this team as a 7-9 or 6-10 type of team from the get go. 9-7 if everything went perfectly. This team is exactly what I thought it would be and much of that had to do with keeping Jim Haslett around. Bruce needs to be relieved of his GM duties at the end of the season, and moved into a cushy Pres of Operations type role. |

What Bruce really needs to be relieved of is his position on deciding whether the Skins should challenge a play, he's terrible at making those calls. |

Too many years of the Redskins sucking has finally worn me down. If form holds, the Seahawks should kick the living daylights out of us in our own stadium, as if playing at home has meant anything to the Redskins for at least ten years. I am very disappointed in the state of this team and this franchise. I have absolutely no confidence that we can become a winning franchise within the next few years. We may have a surprise win against a better opponent from time to time, but it certainly won't be in a nationally televised game in which we have established a tradition of sucking. Here is part of the burden the Redskins bring into this game: Pass defense - Sucks Pass Protection - Sucks Penalties - Sucks Turnovers - Sucks Special Teams - Sucks Other than blind faith, karma, or the rules of probability and chance, what would lead any of us to believe that we could beat the NFL Champions on Monday night? |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
I predict this is going to be one of those years where the first half goes terribly, terribly wrong. Then after we have a terrible record Jay Gruden flips out on them and they get their shit together just enough for us to finish somewhere between 5-11 and 8-8. Unfortunately that means this week will be part of the downward slide.

Judging by how he was on Hard Knocks. I imagine he's not holding back now with a 1-3 record. I'm quite certain they are getting their asses chewed out. |

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
anyone who thinks the seahawks are going to win obviously has trouble seeing into the future.
leave your best attire at home on monday night ladies and gentlemen, because we have an ass kicking party to go to and it aint gonna be pretty. RW is due for a catastrophic injury of catastrophic proportions. Sherman is an a-hole. Okung is bust (per seahawk neophyte fans) Kam is over hyped. Earl Thomas is the only guy that is legit but she is only 1 strong piece on a piece of shit defense. Lynch wears hair extensions. An end part of your dread DOES NOT get pulled out like that unless that is where his extension was braided onto. seriously, what guy would ever 1) wear hair extensions and 2) fake your dreads and take short cuts. people with beautiful natural dreads take a long time to grow and care for. its a source of pride but phony-ass lynch has to cheat and have some black yarn braided into his ends? what a bum i hate this team. i hate seattle. on monday night the world gets re-introduced to the MFing redskins HTTR |

That story got so overhyped/misreported. He's not making those decisions. He's up in the booth but not making the call. The primary people involved are Wes Phillips, Kirk Olivadotti and Ultimately Jay Gruden |

Good man! I'm glad you're here. Unfortunately for me, I just can't go with blind faith anymore. This team plays hard. I respect that. When we play well, I can usually deal with a close loss. But last Thursday night was such a debacle, featuring all of the same weaknesses we all know about and have been seeing for so long, that I just can't get up for the Seahawks game. You know what BOHICA stands for? To me, that describes what I think is going to happen to us for the second week in a row, this time versus the Seahawks. I would rather this game be played in an unlighted coal mine at night than on national TV. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
With the reckless way Cousins was tossing the ball last week this week is going to be a bloodbath. And let's not forget how handicapped our coaches are...don't expect adjustments.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Seahawks have a ton of talent, but just like a lot of teams, they are an injury or two away from big trouble. RW is a really smart QB.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
I bet Cousins plays a lot better than last week, with so much more time to get ready. His tendency to over-prepare and the short week leading up the Giants game obviously didn't go well together.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Trent Williams: Seahawks aren't 'unstoppable,' Redskins can win - CBSSports.com
The Seahawks are heavy favorites (-7.5) for their Week 5 venture to the East Coast, a Monday night matchup in Washington against the Redskins. Just about everyone is picking Seattle and with good reason(s): Seattle's coming off a bye, the Seahawks are a good football team and Washington was annihilated last Thursday. Washington tackle Trent Williams would like people to simmer down on going all-in on the Seahawks and believes the Redskins can win, mainly because the Seahawks are "not robots." "Can we beat them? Yeah, Williams said. At the end of the day, they're not robots. They're human beings and nobody's perfect. Nobody plays perfect every Sunday. They have been beaten before. It's not like they're unstoppable. They're a great team, no doubt about it, but anything is possible in the NFL." This is actually a really great point: typically whatever we think will happen in the NFL is the polar opposite of what actually does happen. An inability to remove recent bias when evaluating the NFL is about the worst thing you can do. Great example: the Redskins. Kirk Cousins looked like a franchise quarterback against the Eagles in Week 3 and then looked like a undrafted free agent against the Giants in Week 4. So, um, what happened last week? I think just coming off of a hard-played game where we went up to Philly, gave it all for 81 snaps and came up three snaps short, to lose a captain of the defense in DeAngelo [Hall] like we did, it's tough, and to have a quick turnaround against a divisional opponent," Williams said. "It was extremely difficult and I think guys kind of took it for granted. I don't think we put forth our best efforts on Thursday. "I think they kind of figured that all we had to do was show up and we'd get that same effort." Williams also said the level of desperation is "rising" but "not at an all-time high desperate level," which is a little surprising for a team that's 1-3 (with one win over the Jaguars), reeling off an ugly loss (and two division losses) and waiting to host the defending champs on Monday night.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
I am so bummed that we are almost ready to play out the string, and it's the beginning of October. Chalk Seattle as a loss and a 1-4 start. Gruden isn't committed to establishing the run, like most WCO coaches that are enamored with their own passing attacks.
Seattle 34 Washington 13
I am alright with the play calling since the Houston game. 1st downs are what matter with our hobbled defense. "Establishing the run" when the defense is playing the run means a lot of three and outs. Everyone, including myself wants Alfmo to finish games with 150 yards and grind defenses over 4 quarters. Opposing defenses are going to play our run and put the game on our inexperienced back up qb. Jay has done a good job of moving the ball and exploiting what the defense is giving. |

It's pretty hard to play worse than an ostrich with its head in the sand. Cousins is panicky bastard so don't hold your breath...just hope he isn't koba ugly. |

The Redskins can win this game. Seattle has a great team but they can be beaten as the Chargers proved....the Redskins just have to play their game and limit mistakes.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
at least everyone not so angry anymore on the forums.
were so underdogged out its insane. mnf. ah man. BUT i can at the same time see this group pull an upset. If we lose you just rank on these guys week in and week out. When i lose in something i dont like someone ragging on me for a week. Leave it be. Well get some dubs. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
and p.s. Kirks not Rivers. DONNOT give that scum Sherman anything for FREE. Let him earn it in his little cover 2 zone that phony. If we line up Aldrick on his side thats who hes covering he doesnt move, hes not gonna follow Garcon or DiJax. hes gonna stay right there. i say we run morris at his side and let em lower his head at sherman then take some shots n expose him.
such a phony im worried more about Earl, Kam, Bobby. screw sherman. beat seattle! rant over sorry. |

An injury to Marshawn Lynch would make a difference I would imagine. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
Really is a big test of Gruden's coaching. Devastating loss, 10 days to use as he decides, prep for another big game. I know we are the underdogs, but it's at home, and Seattle is making the cross country trip, and they aren't the "unbeatable" team they were last year.
I hope we win, koolaid being pumped in intravenously but still the best I can say is we win a squeaker. if it's a blowout, Gruden will have a lot less wiggle room the rest of the year, and Griffin will be on the fast track to being back. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Pregame Thread
I cringe whenever the Skins get a primetime game. The team seems to save their most uninspired work for the entire nation to poke fun at.

They are the same team if not better. If you do the right things you can beat them but one of their biggest advantages over other teams is their ability to adjust at halftime. Oh and the fact that they are 8-0 on Monday night games over the last 10 seasons waters down the cool-aid and mask rectal bleeding. Hail to the Redskins!!! :Smoker: |

I think they should reverse-flex this game to Sunday afternoon so I don't have to worry about staying up late on Monday night.
