Some serious low blows by Fletcher. I thought he was classier than that, apparently not.
Like I've said before, Fletcher is very fake as far as who he projects himself to be vs. who he is

"Fletcher is all about football. And he's all about his teammates. And that's totally fine. But he's not this friendly, gregarious guy really. He's not like say the Shanahans (Mike and Kyle) when it comes to everyone else at Redskins Park-the cleaning staff, the secretaries, the scouts, etc. He's not happily saying good morning, asking them about their families, seeing if they need anything, etc. (He's not the other extreme-Vinny Cerrato-either). He's just I'm here to play football and that's it. He's not into small talk, he hates, hates all the media stuff. It's just not him. But he fakes it well."

http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/49575-redskins-vs-bucs-post-game-reaction-3.html#post948337

He took it too far today, especially in calling Haslett a backstabber and saying he throws others under the bus. And then going after his son.

Re: Fletcher slams Haslett

London Fletcher is a bum. The last contract he got was a fleecing of the Redskins. Haslett stuck by him when he could barely stay on his own two feet, much less cover anyone. With that said,Haslett needs to go. In fact, I would not mind them firing him now and he can take his whole staff with him.

This clueless defense is probably what Orakpo meant when he said "What the hell are we doing out here?"

Who cares what Fletcher says or thinks. Where was his mouth last year when the D had a lot of the same issues and he could have done something about it.

Regardless of the way it was done, it was probably the "kiss of death" for Haslett in D.C.

From what I have been hearing about LF it sounds like he is a phoney. Back in his player days he knew when the cameras were on and acted accordingly.

Regardless of how London went about it he isn't wrong. Haslett literally has never been a good coordinator anywhere. The stats and results speak for themselves.

The better question I have....why did London set his taser on kill? Where the heck did this come from and why?

From his tone I suspect he is tired of defensive players getting blamed all the time for Haslett's mistakes.

Zero Blitz on 2nd and 20? LOL

They have been trying to run the defense "on-the-cheap" for years. The problems go alot further then Haslett, and while he should be fired, he shouldn't be the fall guy.

i didnt think fletcher was totally out of line. fletch always seemed like a grumpy old man to me but he was a professional. showed up to practice and gameday ready to play.

if that is how he feels and his opinion is based upon spending a ton of time with Haslett as his D coord = more truthful and insightful than anything some media never-played-football talking-head pundit has to say.

well he also continues to bury Haslett. Just wow

“I treated him with respect. I wished he would’ve showed the same respect to everybody else. What I’m doing is speaking up for all the players and that coaches that he [disrespected] for the last 20 years.”

Fletcher was one of my top Redskin players of this generation, but I have to admit, I lost a little respect for him after this... Criticize Haslett all you like, he is not a good DC, and he should be fired, but don't make it personal... He always backed Fletcher in 2013, when he was downright horrible... He never said anything negative about him, never thought of benching him, ever... I don't get why he went so far and made it so personal...

Getting into the HOF was already going to be hard enough. I wonder how this will impact his chances.

I would think negatively, however more people than ever are hearing his name now. The buzz is definitely there.

I applaud Fletch for telling it like it is.We all make comments on these forums bashing this coach or owner or player(s)..finally someone who has actually played on the team comes out and tells it like it is!! Haslett should have been let go long time ago! I would be willing to bet you that he actually thinks he could be the head coach of the Skins..so he could be sabotaging his team to get a foot hold on the job..with all the drama on this team don't say that is far fetched..Brian Mitchell says some hardcore stuff about the Skins all the time and he id 100% correct.. I will say that the smartest person I EVER heard talk football is TREVOR MATICH ..he should somehow be a part of the future of the redskins..He has a great insight of the game and players very few ever get..Dan Snyder could do a lot worse if he listened to B Mitch and Matich!

I don't think anyone is upset with Fletch for saying something, it's how he said it. B Mitch and Matich, they just analyze what they see. And I've never seen them personally attack anyone on the staff. And maybe I'm young, but I don't recall B Mitch or Matich ever attacking coaches they worked with to the point of calling them basically stupid. And definitely not going after their family members.

People who give a damn, can find a tactful way to say anything, even negative things, but Fletch just doesn't care about offending people at this point.

... p.s. Like I said earlier, if Fletch wanted to make a difference he should've opened his mouth when he was actually under contract. I don't understand what the point of saying this now is, regardless of if it's the truth or not.

Not clear to me why there's so much focus on Fletcher? He's shedding light on a dark room where nobody's been able to find the light switch. There's been so much discord inside the franchise these last few years, seems like Fletcher is pointing at Haslett as a major source. Backstabbing and rumor swirling has been a big problem right?

Never took Fletcher for a nice guy. He was all about the business and there's nothing wrong with that. Now he's in a a different area of the business, but approach seems pretty consistent. I wouldn't write him off too quick.

I mean, are folks defending Haslett now?

Everyone-front office, coaches, players, media-covered for Fletcher over an over. He retires, has no real interaction with the team anymore and then puts out a premeditated attack on basically the one guy who defended/protected him more than anyone else.

Zero blits on 2nd and 20 is about as stupid as it gets. Even i don't do that in madden. Jim is very stupid. As for the back stabbing, I don't have any insider information but London does and based on the body of his work I will defer to him. As for speaking up earlier, you guys know damn well you would have torn into him for speaking publicly. There is no tactful way to say these things and there is no winning with you guys.

I don't think anyone is feeling bad for Haz at all. In fact, we all pretty much agree with what Fletcher said, we just feel he took it to the extreme. There wasn't really a good reason for Fletcher coming out in the media and tearing Haz down. Haz is doing a good job of that all on his own.

There's a different between disagreeing on how Fletcher approached this and Haslett's performance as a coach. No one is defending Haslett.

Everyone is criticizing how Fletcher carried himself in giving his criticism. Which is terrible, especially if he has any intentions of working in the media.

Plus, kinda hard to get behind the guy that embodied the futility of this defense. That's like having Chester or Polumbus blasting the offensive coaches.

I still don't get what the hubbub is all about?? Haslett has been a terrible coach for a long time, probably shouldn't be in the NFL. For a long time we've heard there was too much behind the scenes drama at Redskins Park, and it didn't end with Shanahan leaving. Fletcher is saying Haslett is part of the problem, something he couldn't say when he was a player for obvious reasons.

I'm not saying anyone should thank Fletcher for speaking out the way he did, but for God sakes shouldn't Haslett be under the microscope?

Let me offer two responses to your post:

1) Please understand that the problem is not what Fletcher said (most people agree), but how he said it. Someone can criticize Haslett without being a jerk about it.

or

2) Rotten, are you completely stupid? The point about the tone of Fletch's remarks has been made again and again in this thread but your pea-sized brain still doesn't get it. I've seen carpets with more brains than you!

See the difference? BTW response 2 was for demonstration only, I do not in fact think that you are dumber than a carpet nor am I trying to insult you.
