I think he was the top rated FB according to SI. He also was considered a day one prospect to them so I am sure that we took him due to highest guy on our board.

GREAT PICKUP!!!!!! I have wanted this guy all along. I don;t know why we got the FB from UCLA but because this guy is going to be a stud. He is huge, has great hands, and can block. Best pick of day 2 for us!!!!

I think White will be a HB and a short yardage RB. This could be the end of Ladell Betts.

Did anyone else see this monster on the NFL network's coverage of the combine? WOW! He ran a [I]4.50[/I], weighs in at nearly 250 lbs., and looks like the biggest, baddest, and most cut monster I've ever seen. The downside is he is 26 years old (he served in the Army before college) and a little raw.

With his size and speed, he could be a terror is coached up. I honestly think this guy is the best pick we made (in terms of value and risk v. reward).

What do others think?

Former basketball player. Has the size of a TE @ 6-1 and 234. Runs in the 4.75 range and is considered to be very athletic.

I'm thinking there is our TE project pick. I wonder how his hands are?

I saw it Ramseyfan. He was HUGE. And he was the fastest LB at the combine. I think that his military history is a major plus. This just proves that he is a hard worker and he has that mentality and high motor.

Cant wait to see him replace in the middle killing Cowboys.

I'm glad we took a MLB incase things fall through with Lemar Marshall; and just to have anohter guy to sub in and out of there. Outside of Carlos Rogers, this is the pick that made the most sense to me as well.

I don't have a link to any article, but here's a bit more information.

McCune served three years in the Army; serving in Korea and Kuwait. He's knicknamed "The Hammer" because he delivered so many punishing hits in college. He ran track in college (explaining his extremely fast 40-time). He was his school's (Louisville) powerlifting champion two years in a row. He is a VERY old junior in college and due to his age, he came out of college "early." Many scouts feel he has all the tools to be a monster, but he's raw. If he's coached up right, we're talking about a stud interior linebacker. If he doesn't develop, he'll fall flat on his face.

My guess is the guy will make the team, contribute on special teams and pass-rushing downs, and become a more regular contributor within two years (when he's 28).

Dude is sick, sick, sick looking....he was probably the most cut guy I saw at the combine. Also, I knew he was one of the fastest linebackers, but I didn't know he was [I]the[/I] fastest! At 4.5, he's almost as fast as Carlos Rodgers (4.45), but weighs 50 pounds more!

I'm really liking this pick. Sounds like a replacement for Barrow / Pierce. Gregg Williams should be able to mold/groom him.

And he did the second most reps of 225. He had 34 and Tyjuan Hagler from Cincinnati had one more. By the way the Colts drafted him.

Saw a pic of him on Skins.com and he is a total monster. I can't believe he's that fast!!! With his military background, he'll take to coaching very well. He'll scare the hell out of opponents for sure!!! Looks like a great pick and with his age he should be beyond the kiddy immature faze and ready to go!!

From what I have seen of him he is a punishing guy between the tackles. He should be a great compliment to Portis as long as he stays healthy. He also has great hands out of the backfield. He is a huge guy. I was completely blown away when I saw him run at the combine were he timed at 4.55.

I don't know anything about this guy, but I like the pick from what I've read. Luckily he'll be coming into the league with plenty of maturity, he could be a great team leader eventually, and he seems to have the raw talent.

The only thing that kind of concerns me is he's already 26. Typically, how do older players coming in do? How is their longevity? Normally longer/the same than a player that comes in at 21/22?

The thing I like (and I'm sure Gibbs does as well) is that with a military background, McCune is used to following instruction explicitly, every time. I expect him to push for serious minutes, and perhaps get some starts. Gibbs loves a player who practices well, and this guy's background suggests he'll do just that.

I think ALL of our day two picks are projects to play special teams while waiting to see how they do at RB/FB/H-B/TE etc... (ILB for both LBs, though one ALSO played FB in college too)

Hell I saw that guy on Total Access, and I just want to say Hell Yeah. Im extatic about getting him in there. The military background, size and speed...who cares how old he is. He's still younger than Barrow. Football players arent ancient at 30. I think that guy was a steal and I can't believe we got him. He left an impression on me when NFLTA was showing film on him. Wow. That made my day.
