Link? I've heard him say he would consider adding one, but never that he definitively wants one. Speculation on my part now, but adding a dedicated QBs coach would likely lead to him stepping back, and I doubt he wants that.

I want this team to stop trading draft picks, and instead stockpile them. Commit to rebuilding thru the draft and stop looking for shortcuts. Commit to an identity - great Redskins champions of the past were built on great line play. Bolster personnel in the trenches. Seems to have worked pretty well for Dallas with 3 first round picks starting on their OL. I'm tired of watching Alfred Morris getting blown up 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

With who we have drafting it doesn't matter how many picks we have.

Want to truly be depressed? This team has consistently picked offensive linemen in rounds that should provide at a minimum year two starters and/or reliable depth since 2010 and developed one of them. One.

They drafted Trent Williams (1st-2010), Mo Hurt (7th-2011), Josh LeReibius (3rd-2012), Adam Gettis (5th-2012), Tom Compton (7th-2012), Morgan Moses (3rd-2014), Spencer Long (3rd-2014) and have developed one. ONE!

To make it even worse we've spent more picks (4) on that position group in the first 3 rounds than any other position group on the roster. Players drafted in those rounds should be starters, not inactive every week.

We can save the whole 'draft linemen' thing as a reason we're terrible. It's not the fruit that's rotten, it is who is choosing it.

This is such Santa Claus riding a unicorn mentality that the fanbase and front office (unfortunately) have. It is not a player issue. We've 'focused' on the OL, they just failed miserably. It's not about the players, it's all about who is picking them.

We need so much, I voted for the "get rid of the crew/other". The upside is that we need very few weapons. The bad side is that the supporting cast for them nees a lot. I think Breeland will pan out nicely, but we need a SOLID DB, o line.
My big concern is that why is out team so bad a developing players? We sign some pretty bad people, but I don't see any improvement from anyone. I could be that they are garbage, but I'm leaning towards our position coaches and why they can't develop anyone.

im guessing they decided before this season started that they would not speak to the media until after the season = to try and limit in-season distractions.

unfortunately ... all those leaks came out and there was a ton of in-season but off-field distraction anyway ...


the result = rookie head coach jay gruden is left to face the firing squad week after week answering roster, personnel and GM related questions alone ....

as for firing the OL and switching to a power blocking scheme, you guys should join the chorus of "our defense is only bad cause it's not a 4-3." Your getting caught up in semantics and maybe not actually watching the run game. we do some of both, just like our D actually plays a LOT of 4-3.

our guys are generally lighter and better at zone blocking, our run game in ZB has been fine, and the coaching has been fine. our OL is more speed than power though, so switching to a system that doesn't fit the players you have (or could get in one offseason) is a really stupid idea. the whole point of ZBS is that you can get cheap guys and get a good run game out of them. we've been bad in pass pro for a while though, and part of that is the players we have just aren't that great at it.

we've got a great LT, a very good C. both OG spots at a bit meh, and RT has been an issue for a while, but saying to blow up it just shows that you're not considering or concerned with the fact that you can't just go out and buy an entire new OL in FA or draft one and get them ready to start in one offseason. our scouting department has also been extremely bad at scouting OL, since we've seen 2 reaches not work out and a big money contract given to a very forgettable FA.

It comes down to inferior play at both guard positions. If you consider signing FA's like Lauvau and Chester, and drafting guys in the 3rd round or later addressing the issue, then expect more mediocrity. Trent Williams and Cory Lichtensteiger are the only legit starting O-linemen on our roster today. If we ever hope to dominate in the trenches again, it starts with drafting linemen in the first two rounds, something that this team has done just twice in 15 Dan Snyder drafts (Trent Williams and Jarvis Jenkins).

ESPN Cleveland suggests Kirk Cousins may be the Browns' "prime target" as they search for a quarterback this offseason.

Browns OC Kyle Shanahan is fond of Cousins, who was drafted by the Shanahans in 2012 with Washington. If Cleveland plays its cards right, it should be able to acquire Cousins for a late-round pick. There is no doubt that the very first thing we have to do is hire a GM. The success of a team begins and ends with that position. He's the guy who is suppose to put together the coaching staff. He's the guy who suppose to evaluate the roster. He's the guy who is suppose to bring in the talent. When I look at the Skins, we have holes everywhere you look. Bruce Allen has been a complete disaster as a GM. There is no position on this team where we're set.
