So my guess is San Fran and Eagles are going to swipe QBs with San Fran getting a 2nd round pick as well.
Looks like the surprise is Willis retiring from the NFL at 30.

Patrick Willis, Justin Smith retiring from 49ers | ProFootballTalk

I didn't realize he had been in the league 8 years. Seems like about half that. Been great since day one. Guys drafted same year as Willis: (first rounders) Brady Quinn, LaRon Landry, A. Peterson, J. Thomas, B. Merriweather, B. Grubbs, D. Revis; (other rounds) Jacoby Jones, Ryan Harris, Doug Free, Kevin Kolb, Eric Weddle, Tanard Jackson.

If true, huge loss for SF.

In retrospect yes, but I feel that this particular play/score took the air completely out of Denver.

McPhee can play but has little experience as a starter. Yet he gets $8 mil./year.

Go shopping on the UFA market and pay the inflated price. It's just that simple.

I used to defend "market price" UFA shopping, but the truth is you almost always pay a premium for any good player who makes it to FA. Unless you're doing everything else right - draft, develop, and retention - UFA "market values" will kill your depth.

You'd have to be a complete idiot to give Maclin 11mil per. I'd give him 5-6 at most.

eagles f*cked up big time not approaching him during the season and he would have taken 8-9 mil. Chip is the real idiot.

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings

NBC Washington reports the Falcons have emerged as the "frontrunner" to sign free agent OLB Brian Orakpo.

New Falcons coach Dan Quinn may be eyeing Orakpo to play the "Leo" pass rusher role in his 4-3 under defense. Atlanta is also targeting Brooks Reed, whose strengths are versus the run and in pass coverage. The Falcons will have to hold off the Cardinals, Colts, and Redskins to land 28-year-old Orakpo. I do want a legit FS in FA.

only position i would pay good money if a sideline to sideline player is avail.

I really want a good FS.

sucks we didnt pull the trigger on some good 5 mil per FS last offseason .... when it was a glaring need and there was 2-3 good choices (not byrd, too expensive)

You know word gets around players about who is a good coach to play for and Chip Kelly and the Eagles org have had a ton a problems since Reid left.

Stephen A, while I certainly dont agree with his comments, it is very interesting how Kelly protected Cooper (while being a horrible WR) and had serious problems with D Jax (Eagles FO supposidly leaked the gang affiliation to appease fans) and Shady McCoy.

Reid was always a players coach, Kelly seems to be rubbing his players the wrong way.

Remember, Macklin jumped ship rather easily and Devin McCourty turned down a bigger offer from the Eagles. Gore "changed" his mind from the Eagles and Andre Johnson is not even giving them the time of day.
