Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.
Yeah, and we know he DOES have the potential to be a strong #1 as well. In his best season, he put up TO-like numbers. If he can replicate that kind of production, I'll be more than happy with the contract.
I'll think it was a bargain.
I hate to argue over this point, but lets take two receivers: Receiver #1: Career totals over four years: 151 receptions 2416 yards 19 TDs Receiver #2: Career totals over four years: 227 receptions 2997 yards 22 TDs Hmm....guess who is who? Receiver #1 is Santana Moss, who just signed a huge contract; and Receiver #2 is Rod Gardner, who is being run out of town. Now, I'm not saying I'm a Gardner fan, but I'm not a fan of overpaying players who haven't proved anything either. This is another stupid move, in a litany of stupid moves, from the worst personnel department in the NFL - not the cheapest, but the most incompetent when it comes to handing out contracts and making trades. |

Rod has started in 48 games and moss has started in 29. That does say Moss gets hurt more often but is more productive. He missed 13 of his games in his first season. Rods average catches and yards per game are 4.93 for 65.15 and Moss's is 5.2 for 83.3. I myself will have to wait and hold my judgement of this signing after next year. |
Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.

Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.
Didn't someone say that Moss had continually been calling the Drew asking when he could come to practice?
I hate Drew Rosenhaus. |

I can't wait to see him on an avatar real soon. From everything I'd heard, he's been performing above expectations at camp. |
Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.
I hate that we overpay and sign people for the dumbest contracts in the NFL. It has become a joke. I mean people actually use us as bargaining tools. And we are TOOLS for signings like this.

Those are good points but I think players should get big salaries based on total accomplishments - not potential and what they did when healthy. I mean, come on!!! 5 mill/year???? That's more than Smoot got. Are you telling me you'd rather have Moss signed than Smoot? Look at it this way - if we had signed Smoot for that contract WE COULD HAVE DRAFTED MIKE WILLIAMS. Who would you rather have? Fred Smoot and Mike Williams; or Santana Moss and Carlos Rogers????? Jiyan |
Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.
Is that a trick question? Smooooooooooot!!!
|
Re: Lenny P reporting Moss signed.
moss and carlos in a landslide. carlose will be better than smoot was or is. moss is more of what the skins need at wr. they do not need a big slow wr.
