Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I am kind of glad it's a short week. I really want to see how the team handles success. This is a big early game. A win continues momentum, gives us a long break to savor two wins, and is a nationally televised game. To me, it would be a real demonstration of "culture change" if we didn't suck on national TV. If we actually win and look good doing so? phew ... not sure the team could handle the success.
It is also a chance to really set the tone before taking on the Eagles and can give us the chance to go 2-0 in the division. One game at a time though, still need to see back to back wins before thinking about the rare possibility of back to back to back games.
This, for sure. So this weekend we broke the, "Let's play passive as hell with a 10 point lead." Now it's time to actually perform in prime-time. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I also forgot about this: it was almost a certainty we'd give up big third downs and NOT convert ones we needed. Been damn good on third down on both sides of the ball.
|
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I hate being the road team on a short week. Plus the Giants are going to feel backed into a corner and will not want to go 0-3 in the division. And as been said, this game has trap game written all over it.
Thursday games also tend to be god awful blow outs. I just got a bad feeling about this one. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I dont know about trap game, but the Giants have beaten us 5 of last 6 games. This will not be an easy game and Eli generally shreds against us. We need to keep doing what we've been doing...control the LOS, run the ball, convert 3rd downs, ball the f*ck out, and play tough D. Control what we can
|
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
The Redskins are getting so little love after beating the Rams. The power rankings (not that I care about that) nudged us up from 29 to 27, with the Rams still well above us, along with the Giants, Browns, Raiders, and some other pretty crappy teams.
And you know what? Good. Until we start thumping people regularly, the rankings won't change. And I hope teams continue to underestimate the Redskins. To be clear, I don't see us necessarily finishing the season with a winning record -- we're still a ways from being a consistently competitive team (as evidenced by the loss to the Dolphins last week -- a good team would have been able to hang on to a 10 point lead at home). But yesterday's win is something to build on, and I love the "us-against-the-world" mentality that is emerging (see comments from the D line and O line). I would love to see us kick the crap out of the Giants. But I bet even if that happens (big if), the pundits will be talking about how weak the NFC East has become more than anything about the Redskins turning the corner. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Oh, and we need to hit Eli. Often.

Nothing else. Their run D is ranked well but the Cowboys have no run game. I can't remember who the Falcons have? Yes the Giants are going to be desperate to win, but they were probably more desperate to win after that first nightmare finish and they still shit the bed in the fourth quarter again. We got this one. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
The Giants should be 2-0. They gave away both games in the last 2 minutes. I hope we win but I am not expecting it until we string several wins in a row.
I think the Rams definitely overlooked us and we were their trap game. Sent from my S6 Edge |
We typically shit the bed on Nationally televised games.
Despite killing it against the Rams and the Giants being pretty terrible, I'm still pretty worried.
Exactly! We suck on National TV. |

Players need to believe. God and the universe could care less who wins (unless you ask Russel Wilson [emoji12]) |
Bad teams tend to suck no matter when they play.
Rite we were like 7-27 or something until this week dating back two years. Take away the nationally televised games where we were terrible. Go ahead. Lol. |

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
There is talk of Coughlin resigning during the season or possibly even being fired, i say it is completley within the realm of possibility that we go there and clean house. The Giants are in dissaray right now and that might be all that we need to get the win.

Yeah I hate the team we NEVER beat too. We haven't beat those asshats since 2012 on MNF. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
See, I keep thinking about September 23 2007.
|
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Giants own us as of late but I really think we can beat them Thursday. Eventually we won't suck ass on prime time games so y not start a change now?
|
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Make NO mistake, this ain't the same Skins team they are used to meeting.....
Anybody think Scherff is ass-keert of these dudes? Preston Smith? Pot Roast? Hatch? Jones? Our guys are gonna give these boys a little ride........ about 60 minutes worth of Top Quality Ass Kickin' HTTR! |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Like a coin flip, past performance has nothing to do with future outcomes...
Go Skins !! (Pass the cool-aide , please ) |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
BTW after 2 weeks yes IK 2 weeks the skins have the best defense in the nfl

where? i haven't seen it. teams don't just fire coaches midseason unless it's really dire. it basically guarantees a top 5 draft pick. |

#1 in ypg & 3 in scoring....definitely worthy of the "Capital Punishment" nickname a pleasant surprise to say the least! |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Yeah I thought it would be ok like maybe in the late teens but man if they keep this up we could have a top 5 defense
|
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
Chuck pagano better make the Super Bowl and they look terrible so far...

a pleasant surprise to say the least!
We were ranked number 1 last year after beating the jags. 1-1 was our record. Now this feels different though... |

All I have seen is a hard working "Team" with little attitude, but much determination.... You see it differently? To tell you the truth, I haven't really noticed any fans getting cocky either. |

Nope , never happen. With that said you guys should win just by keeping the ball from Eli .Whatever Offense they have is Eli and Odell and there is no defense to speak of ,it's not Coughlin it's Jerry Reese,no LBer's or pass rushers or safety's! |
Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants
I think "MoJo"(Morris and Jones) will have a good game. I'm not sure if we are a team with killer instinct yet. Hopefully we are.
