It just seems like kirk has a weak arm to me, the reed pass would have been a td if he put more on it and there was a few more underthrown passes.
I think he has a timid arm. Not weak. Think he plays too safe to avoid pics. Remember the one he had wide open to Garcon i think but threw it almost out of bounds? Its like he tries so hard to throw it away from the defender. It is a confidence issue imo. Hope he can work it out. |
Ok if that's truth, don't ssy Kirk battled. Don't say no one played goo, say Kirk didn't make enough plays!! This guy is fake and players beginning to see this!! He calls out some, don't call out others, back stabs some to the media, praise some for below average games. Just be real and fair toward all players!!
Who said nobody played good or kirk battled? Not me. I have said several times the game was on kirk. Im defending the gameplan/adjusting to what the d was giving is. Nobody quit last night and im not sure why u think im saying that? Edit: are u talking about grudens presser? I didnt even watch it. I will avoid all media coverage until we beat the eagles. |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
We are a 6 win team at best. We will have games this year where we say "ok we turned a corner" (STL game). We will have games were we say "great effort just simply got beat by a better team" ( MIA game) Then we will have flat out bad games were we say "damn two steps back" (NYG game).
Over these three past weeks we have probably seen our 2015 Redskins, welcome to the season race fans! |

Didn't watch most of the game b/c of "life happening" events, but got the flavor. Not sure if its been discussed but, from what I saw, RGIII loses that game as well. DB's still have issues. Offense doesn't have the QB of the future on the roster. Offense, as currently configured, is a one trick pony. Team just didn't seem to have the fire it needed to start out of the blocks fast. Had a chance to make a real positive statement and failed miserably. Coaching was sub-par.
"life happening"? I'm intrigued |
Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Of quarterbacks who have thrown at least 300 passes since 2012, Cousins has the worst interception rate in the NFL. The names that follow him in that category — Geno Smith, Matt Cassel, Terrelle Pryor, Mark Sanchez and Blaine Gabbert — what all these guys have in common!! People like Jay Gruden, Shanny, Sheehan, Doc Walker see nfl starting qbs!!
Man I dont get it? The gameplan was to throw on the leagues worst pass defense. The pass pro last night and time KC had was better than anything ive seen for years? I agree with you, coaches came in wanting to exploit the Giants weaknesses. The Oline did their job, the backs picked up numerous blitz blocks and the WR got open. Cousins failed to execute. |

So if u are J who are you starting rite now im curious? |
Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Cousin's arm strength is really his issue, if he was able to zip balls quicker he would be pretty good. 10 yards and under he is ok, I think teams are gonna try and force him to throw it longer now. The offensive line was really pretty decent last night, even with the injuries, plenty of time to throw the ball most plays. Thompson, Ross, Crowder, alot to excited about. I'm worried Trent Murphy will be another wasted 2nd rounder, we needed Gallette bad last night.

Jay should start Colt or who he believes runs his offense the best. It seems to me he protecting Kirk just as much as Griff. If I was the coach I start Colt, turnovers are a killer!! This was one the three worse defense we will play all year. |
Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
If you open up the game with a blocked punt for a safety that isn't a good chance of winning game.
Cousins was the biggest issue in the game. You can't miss throws and turn the ball over. 1 of the 2 is bad enough, no chance to win with both. Even some of his completions were behind his targets. So far, I haven't seen a lot of improvement from him. He has 13 games to prove he is the right guy. After 3 I'd say he's in the hole. Time to start digging. |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
What we saw last night from Cousins was his continued failing to step up when the pressure is on in a big game. HE still could have rebounded from his two blatant mistakes but he failed to do so time and again with his inaccuracy. He is flawed. If we give him 13 games to prove himself he will be a backup the rest of his career.
There are reasons why he was never traded the last few offseasons. |

He will last the season. I don't put the L last night on Jay (I am not his biggest supporter but it wasnt his fault). The ball bounced the Giants way all night. Jay had a decent game plan that the QB didnt execute. It's that simple |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
the game went like i thought it might..the stuff that bothered me was the blocked punt..that was pathetic blocking! you can say what you want But every bounce went the giants way..breeland was in good position on several of those td catches it was almost like nothing was gonna go the skins way..how about the onside kicks..they misplayed both and still we could not get a break..Jones fumbles crossing the goal ..it was hard to watch! The Skins fought ..bottom line is simple,We are not good enough to give away anything and we need to take advantage of every blunder the other team makes. last night the opposite happened.
This is pretty much how I viewed the game. It got to the point where I was just expecting the next 'bad thing' to happen. I would also add in the fact that Kirk was not sharp. He was throwing a step behind the receivers all night, and that one to JR would have been a TD had he put some air under it, rather than throw a line drive. He'll come around. He wasn't horrible as some have said here, and he didn't fold after throwing an INT, but he needs to improve on his ball placement. I had no problems with the game plan. Offensively we just need to execute better - losing Lauvao did not help the game plan either. Defensively, need to get more pressure, but when the QB gets rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds, only so much you can do there. |
Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Definitely some accuracy issues for Kirk. The interior line didn't hold up as well this week, the pocket folded in on him plenty of times. But that's not an excuse, he still had time to throw, he's got to get the ball placed where it needs to be.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
I'm a gruden fan and I know I'm not in the majority on this but I think he can be a good HC given the right players. If we fire him then that's just another head coach given 2 years in Washington doesn't that get old folks? U can't just keep firing guys over and over. As far as the qb position goes I'd love to just ship griffin to Tennessee for mettenburger but that's not happening so we are stuck with kirk and just have to hope he turns his career around.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
You can blame Cousins but there were other issues last night. Example, were was the pass rush? None!!

I think you have to give him the season. However, he needs to figure out how to come up with an offensive scheme that focuses on the run and finds a way to overcome the passing deficiencies. He also needs to find a way to make Cousins just a game manager. |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
Good: Rashad Ross is a baller. Why he isn't he further up the depth chart? It should go: Garcon, Grant, Crowder, Ross. F Andre Roberts oiled up butterfinger ass. He drops at least one catchable, crucial pass per game. Ross can't be worse than that.
It was nice to return a kick for a TD. Garbage time or not, maybe we're not completely inept on special teams. Keenan Robinson. Dude has heart. I like him. Bad: Cousins threw 50 passes. I get it. They're stacking the box. The pass will open up the run. But when Cousins is your QB there has to be some alternative to having him throw so much? A dude like Cousins needs to be throwing less than 30 times a game. That Plummer nobody. I can't blame the ST as a unit because Plummer got worked by a guy half his size. Not once but twice. Way to be the biggest bitch on the team, buddy. Alfmo. Where was he? I understand Gruden working with the hot hand. But come on, they should be getting 50/50 carries. Or at least not more than 60/40. Breeland getting worked by OBJ. He's one of the best and Breeland was just outmatched. We desperately need a true #1 cover guy. Everyone made that sound like Culliver but where the fuck has he been? |

Gruden is a offensive coordinator, not a leader!!! Look at the top coaches, when things go bad they don't run to reporters with off the record comments. He talk to much, he don't hold everybody accountable, and he don't know how to adapt to the flo of the game!! |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
This team is just still not very good. A strong ground game on Offense and Defense can keep you in and win games even with bad special teams play, but having a QB that can't make plays for you when the game is on the line, and has bad judgement is just too big a hurdle to overcome.
KC may get better, I know people have posted his numbers compared to the start of some elite QB's numbers at the same point in their career, but I think you could find many more examples of young QBs with similar stats that did not improve. For example this is how he compares with Patrick Ramsey: G GS Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD Int Rate Y/A AY/A AY/A Cousins 16 11 284 465 61.1 3429 20 21 79.2 7.4 6.2 6.2 Ramsey 16 12 246 463 53.1 3169 17 14 78.2 6.8 6.2 6.2 |

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions
I guess it surprises me how many of you were expecting great things, given our recent history of prime time games against the gints. I was waiting for a kick in the balls and it still hurt. Oy.
KC will get to the bye, I suppose, but he isn't showing it. INTs are just not acceptable and his numbers speak for themselves. The game plan was fine--they were stacking the box and knew we wanted to run. That should have opened up the pass--that's sort of the point of having the run game, no? Plus, we got in a hole and that limits the play calling. On the other side, Eli is obviously in a different class, but we also helped with NO PRESSURE. Easy to throw if you can just sit back like practice. Specials: unacceptable penalties: unacceptable Bottom line: we're more than a few players away, so this is what you gotta expect. QB is high on the list, though we should continue to build inside out, IMO. Get Ross on the field. Beat Philly. Gotta go ice my frickin balls. |

It is too early to say which way he will go, but to me just watching the games, he looks more like a young Ramsey than a young Manning. I will be rooting for him, but realistically this team needs to be a lot better before we can win consistently with him at QB. One other thing, everyone says all you need is a 'game manager' I only buy that if you have a great all around Defense, otherwise you also need someone who can make plays for you. All in all, Kirk is alright I guess, and we need to focus on building depth on the lines and in the secondary, but if SM spots a steal on a QB with even a little more playmaking ability, I think it would make a big difference to this team to grab him. |
