D jax will never be a blocker, I mean look at him, not the biggest dude.

So I guess Jordan Reed isn't a beast with your logic, and he's a Tight fuckin End. He's suppose to block.

Trent Murphy is looking huge and stout.

I saw an interview on Redskins Nation and have searched for the video without luck. (If anybody can find it please link)

I believe this transition is really going to work out. He isn't going to make the pro-bowl or anything but I believe he will be able to actually play well and contribute.

He isn't a fast twitch guy but has excellent reaction time to the snap, and really good football strength. He was dropping into coverage way too much last year which is his weakness. While playing at end, he will be able to go forward which is his strength.

I was one of the skeptics about this switch, but I agree...it sounds like he's adding most of the weight he needed. I've moved up to the 50-50 range on this working out now.

Would love Murphy to transition well, but it's hard to believe Baker at 333lbs and Murphy trying to get to 290lbs will have the same success against Olinemen who are 300-320lbs.

I agree, I think he has a chance to be a higher impact player along the line. In college his strength was his strength seems built more for a leverage player than one who is athletic in space.

Preston Smith on the other hand...he seemed to me to be a guy who was masterful and unsung along the Dline in college, but has shown the ability to transition as more of an "in space" pass rusher type. I would have never thought that...

Im hoping Trent can contribute, of course this is his very last shot to do so...

good stuff in here from Mike Jones. I think out of all the pick ups this year, Dave Bruton could be the surprise big contributor. Read several really positive things.

What stands out from the article is we are talking about a lot of depth guys who have the ability to step up. McC has simply been the dream GM we haven't had for 25 years.

I was at the OTA's today. It was pretty awesome. Kirk Cousins looks like a surgeon out there. He was just pin point accurate. Desean Jackson was unguardable. Everytime he was on the field he ran right past Josh Norman, for a deep ball. The one time Norman contested the ball, Desean wrestle it away from him diving in the end zone. Desean looked like he was hurt, but returned to action later. Richard Marshall was not out there. Looks like one of those guys that is never healthy. Robert Kelly on the other hand looked real good. Trent Williams was not there, Nseke filled in and appeared to really good. Arie kouandjio was starting at guard along with the other standard starters. Arie also looked good. The first team defense was getting tore up, Joe Barry was yelling and cursing like you would not believe. Couple of surprising things was that the Phillips kid was the starting nickel corner. I read this the other day, but looks like he has one the job for now. Kendal Fuller looked good, and intercepted Colt McCoy. Both Colt and especially Nate Sudfeld looked light years behind Kirk. Sudfeld looked absolutely terrible, Gruden yelled at him constantly. Saying at one time" Sudfeld can you get one yard. Just one yard." He did not complete a pass, in 11 on 11 drills.

The hardest thing to be happy about, one side burning the other. But it also sucks if no one wins. It's a conundrum. But its awesome DJ is looking good already. Norman won't ge any better practice than covering an explosive Jackson.

I love that Kirk looked great. We're due to have a great QB. Our offense should be awesome. We should be able to burn most defenses, even proven good ones. Our offense is our strong point as of now so I'm happy the 1s look good. Our defense shouldn't play many better offenses than ours. I'm genuinely pumped about this season. I'm going with an 11-5 prediction and us being an upper echelon team. Yep, I'm drinking all the kool aid. Httr!!!

And I'm jealous you got to be there.

good stuff thanks! Heard they really like the Phillips kid too.

And stop talking truth about D Jax...dude is a flat out beast. Josh Norman is gonna bring a high level of competition with out receivers. Norman is known to practice hard and step it up against receivers...this is exactly the type of guy you want on your team. Mixing it up with DJax only motivates. You know the coaches love it.

If Fuller can stay healthy watch the f*ck out...

DJax on missing out on the $500K bonus. What a selfish diva:
“You know, you hear the reports, people saying I forfeited the workout bonus,” he told Michael. “Don’t get it wrong; it’s definitely something I would have loved to do. But spending that time with my family and doing things on that side of the world definitely pays off.”

Jackson, a native of Los Angeles, has a seven month old son, DeSean Jr. The ninth-year veteran also acknowledged that he’s been spending time with an ailing grandmother.

“Really, I’ve just been spending a lot family time,” Jackson said. “My home is so far from here—east coast, west coast, so that flight is a little hectic.

“Just really being able to enjoy that and enjoy being a Dad. You don’t really get that time too much to spend during the season because our schedule is so crazy.”
Thanx for the info. Surprising because the DEFENSE usually has the up hand early in the OTA's. I'm worried that the defense will just not improve this much this season. Obviously adding Norman was a master bit of luck and seizing a great opportunity. But one player does not a defense make. I think the defense will improve into an average unit this year, but still think we are one season away from an elite defense unit.

Hail!

"The culture is what I want to build," he said. "If we win a championship, that would be awesome. But I want guys to understand the importance of being a team. It's not about the individuals. It's the sum of the parts. … We're not close to where we need to be yet, but it's going in the right direction. Definitely."

Make no mistake, the Redskins are better. But they are still a Josh Norman story. Rarely is a team gifted the unexpected opportunity to sign an All-Pro cornerback, especially one who was coming off a career season and a Super Bowl appearance. That said, Norman is only one point of light for a Redskins franchise that is suddenly looking remarkably intriguing heading into the offseason break. And McCloughan is at the center of that."

This year will be a really good bell-weather. Can we compete with and beat good teams on a regular basis? In the past, it really required the good team to be having an off day or early in the season while the eventual "good" team was still getting its act together.

We have a rough schedule from week 1. The Steelers, Ravens and two division games (including our home game against Dallas) in the first five weeks - with a visit from RGIII thrown in for good measure.

Really like where we are going and how Scot McC has us moving. Here's hoping that we are watching a very solid foundation being built.

Daushon Phillips has been running as the starting a lot receiver all spring. When they asked Perry Fewell about him he said the job is his to lose. That is one of the biggest shockers for me all off season.
