Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
We went into a rowdy stadium in bad weather, and came out with a W.
The Ravens do not lose a lot of games at home. We are missing a lot of players. Winning breeds winning folks. Bring on the birdies! First place going into week 7? Ill take that shit after our terrible start. |
Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Going back and watching the game again, Matt Ioannidis got a lot more snaps at NT than I realized while watching the game live.
I'm really interested to see how he grades out and his snap count. |

No we earned it. It was in their house. Advantage them. Yeah they made a bone head play. What about the double fumble that they got back twice?!? Bullshit big call on us. Fuck that. We earned that shit. (Excuse my potty mouth [emoji51]) |

Awesome, ugly win. Take it and move on.
I just wish Deshawn Jackson would show up a little more. It seems like the only reason we have him on the field to is for those 3-4 deep shots we take very game. I know the weather was crappy yesterday and all, but he basically had only one catch worth watching. |

Remember though that he draws coverage down field. Sometimes with help from a safety. Which opens up alot underneath. Opposing teams have to respect his speed and talent. Talk about something that doesn't show up in the stats.
Yes though at one point yesterday i saw his jersey and said to another skins fan at the bar, "holy shit I forgot about d-jax". Lol Edit: and it is Desean. [emoji6] Edit 2: also due to high winds his deep threat was hampered but luckily Garcon was able to step up huge in the intermediate game. |

I am convinced if teams run four straight plays up the gut on us there is no way they don't gain ten yards.

No way. Signing Doctson was a complimentary pick for D-Jax. D-Jax isn't exactly going to throw his weight around first of all. Second of all you try running wind sprints up the field over and over and see if you don't "take a play off". Every time this guy doesn't go for 100 yards and a td it is time for him to go. Wtf? |

If we were in the CFL I'd say the same thing about 3 straight plays. There is absolutely no excuse for Baltimore not running the ball at least 25 times. Especially with the wind. We didn't run a lot as it wasn't working. They didn't run a lot because they just didn't want to. Their guy almost had 100 yards on 11 carries. |

I'm not saying he needs 100 yards every week, I'm just saying it seems like he is a one trick pony. The fly route and the post. I will say this however, I haven't seen any All 22 film, so it maybe that safeties are covering him over the top, which is why all the intermediate stuff is open for Reed and Crowder. If the Redskins could consistently get 5 yards rushing, more would open up. |
Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Positives:
- ILBs !!! Mason Foster was outstanding, from a technical standpoint, he may very well be the best tackler on this team. I said last week he was the only one able tackle properly, this week he wasn't the only one anymore, very few missed tackle, but he delivers text book tackles on almost every play, just WOW. Compton had a pretty good game too. They both seemed to have fun on the field, they might be part of the reason why the Ravens didn't run the ball on us, and tried to pick on this unproven secondary. - Defensive play calling. Barry bringing a lot of pressure, with success on key plays! - O-line. - KC (a part from the INT, that could have been a killer, really good game). Negatives: -Offensive play calling. I felt this was predictable as F..k. A few 3 and 1 I think we should have run, Matt Jones was doing a pretty good job at picking up 1 or 2 yards on dead plays. With all the Ravens' mistakes, we could have killed this game, I say we didn't in major part because of bad playcalling (Not kicking that close field goal at the end of the 2nd half was plain stupid IMO). |
Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Positives:
Won without getting a single turnover Crowder Offensive line Linebacker play Few penalties Negatives: Turned the ball over twice Running game Jones and his fumbles Run defense I want to see Kelly get more carries. |
Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
So what's the deal with the running game? I'm still worried about Jones because he has zero burst speed. You nail him at the line, he's going down like a sack of potatoes. If he gets to the second level then he'll get into gear.
I know our offensive line is bordering on average, but come on man, we had like 50 yards on hand offs yesterday. That can't be all on the o-line...? I'm also worried about his vision because I often see him run into his lineman, and I swear there was a play where there was a clear way around Silverback and Jones stopped at the line when the hole closed up and ran around the right side into the arms of like 3 Ravens linemen. Granted, I think I like shifty one cut backs rather than the bruisers we've been having... i.e. Morris, Jones |

The Cowboys look good, and as much as that sucks they're good, it makes us look better. The only teams we lost to are a combined 8-2. It's OK to lose to the better teams if you can beat everyone else. |
Re: Redskins 16 Ravens 10 postgame thread
Hey guys, random question here......about midway through the 2nd quarter the Redskins punted to the Ravens and it went into the end zone for a touchback. BUT, when the game came back on after a commercial the Ravens started at their own 20 yard line....??? Why not the 25?

Yop. Especially when you're getting the ball to begin the 2nd half. Kick it. End the half trailing by 1 little point, and get the ball back, with the momentum on your side. Hey, until there offense kinda made it up for our D getting run over, this week defense won it for the offense... I'll take that every day!!! Let's go D! HTTR ! |

I'm guessing the new "25 yards line rule" is just for kickoffs, to prevent injuries... (even if it's not working very well...) |

It's only on kickoffs. Still the 20 under every other circumstance. |
