Trap game for sure. The Pack was supposedly weak late last season, but cleaned our clock in the playoff game. I don't think I really have to mention our primetime woes at this point. Only way we have a chance is getting Aaron uncomfortable and keeping him off rhythm in his throws. Fuller better be pissed and up his game for this one. Knocking Aaron on his ass is the only key to victory in my opinion. I am going to be pissed if we make Starks look like a NFL back. If we win this game, I think things will take off for us, even though we probably are going to lose to the Boys on Turkey Day.

ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky does not expect Christine Michael to "make much, if any, impact" on Sunday's game in Washington.

Especially for a player of Michael's track record, it would seem extremely aggressive to anticipate him making any immediate impact after one week of practice. Michael is likely to require at least two weeks with the Packers before he's ready for carries. The Packers already went through this with Knile Davis, and it didn't pan out.

Can the Redskins stop the run?


That was a big problem in the playoff loss and it has remained an issue for most of this season. The Packers hurt Washington with a lot of cutback runs in January and if the Redskins are not careful the same thing could happen Sunday. Green Bay ranks eighth in yards per carry at 4.56. But of their 922 rushing yards this season, 226 have come from Rodgers. In fact, he has scored all three rushing touchdowns as well. But with Eddie Lacy injured, the onus falls on James Starks, who is averaging 2.42 yards per carry. He hurt Washington last year and if he gets a little confidence early, it could change the tone of the game.

How are the Redskins different defensively than in last year’s game?

But the Redskins have done a good job using a variety of looks to create more pressure.[B] They’re using a speed lineup at times with Ryan Kerrigan, Preston Smith and Trent Murphy serving as down linemen and rookie Su’a Cravens rushing -- either off the edge or through the middle. It’s a productive group[/B], though it can only be used a few times a game. But it’s a look they did not use last season and the rush was too inconsistent.

It has to be a dead-sure passing situation for that package. 3rd & 6 doesn't work, it will get run all over. It's got to be 2 minute defense and 3rd&10 or longer.

This was the [B]No. 1 issue from that game [/B]as Washington’s pass rush barely took advantage of a weakened Packers offensive line. The Redskins tried to send more pass-rushers, but without much luck. They called for five or more pass-rushers on 13 occasions, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Rodgers completed just five of 11 passes for 58 yards on those plays, but there were no sacks or big plays.

However, the Redskins' pass rush has been more effective as Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Murphy both have seven sacks apiece and Preston Smith now has 3.5. The Redskins have used that trio as down linemen in certain packages, with rookie linebacker Su’a Cravens behind them. Though it can only be used in obvious pass situations, that look has created pressure and forced bad throws.

Smith’s first sack against Minnesota occurred out of this look, for example, when Cravens’ pressure forced Sam Bradford up into the pocket.

The Redskins have sent five or more pass-rushers 128 times this season, which is eight fewer than all of last year (and only seven teams have done this more). [B]But last season opposing quarterbacks completed 13 touchdowns to one interception and had a 107.1 passer rating when the Redskins sent at least five. This year? They have a 73.9 passer rating with five touchdowns and five interceptions.[/B]
