Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
My dream scenario - Dalvin Cook
What I'd be happy with - whoever the best player available on defense is, based on SM'S scouting reports. It could literally be any player at any position. |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
Joe Mixon is another guy I would look at starting in round 2
|
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
What is all this RB in the first round garbage? We ain't draftin' no stinkin' RB in Round 1 and, if we did, it wouldn't be a fumbler like Cook.

I still have my shuler jersey
Man that just brings bac terrible memories. There was not one thing Shuler did well. The pro game was way too fast for him. At least Griffin has 2012, Shuler never did anything except throw the ball to the other team and complete 50 percent of his passes. |

That's a pass for me. I don't think we have the roster that would be able to help a guy with character concerns like that. He may have learned his lesson from hitting that girl but I think it's a bad look for us. |

Hadn't seen that highlight video of Solomon Thomas. Yes, please. That dude is just absolutely owning people.

I don't know about how he is as a prospect, but Im willing to give the guy a second chance if he comes off good behind close doors with our coaching staff and McC. This isn't direct at you Mooby, but... Id really like to know what happened to second chances in this country, seems like our president is pardoning a lot of criminals these days giving second chances...but you say the wrong thing on twitter and faux outrage folks want blood...ie, that person to lose a job, lose a life, etc. strange times...lotta hypocrisy |

It isnt like he goes around beating people in the face. She attacked him, he retailated and was suspended for an entire year. Plus this incident happened almost 3 years ago. |

But he wouldn't get another one if he slipped up again. I've seen the video and I know the girl was copping an attitude with him, but you gotta maintain your composure. You don't think I haven't wanted to hit someone who was mouthing off at me? The difference is I know not to act on it. Long story short if McC does his homework (which we know he will) and thinks Mixon is worth the chance I'll probably get over it. But he's already on his second chance, which is what Bob Stoops gave him when he welcomed him back to the program. If he screws up again, I don't want to keep giving him chances based on his athletic talent. |

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let Mel Kiper be right.....Has us taking Malik Hooker at #17, can you imagine....Norman, Cravens, Hooker, and Breeland bringing up the rear, that's a solid group....and if DHall wants to stay on he could possibly play Nickel.....

Hooker really stands out when watching that defense...when you talk about Safety, you have to about having range and that guy moves from sideline to sideline well. He would be a steal. The kid from lsu is another one... |

I still have my shuler jersey
I don't know about other teams worst, except the Chargers and Ryan Leaf. But RG3 was our worst draft pick ever. We would be so much better if we had just stood pat, drafted Cousins or Wilson, and used all those other picks in the RG3 trade. Even not considering the trade, the RG3 pick was an all-time bust. |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
With RG3 at least we got a division title out of it. Shuler just couldn't play.
|
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
Taking the player's performance in a vaccuum I agree Schuler was the bigger flop, but the fact that we gave up so much to get RG3 makes him a bigger disaster for us.

Agree 100. The loss of talent in the traded picks, and the wasted pick on RGIII, that would probably be on the roster right now, and probably in the front 7 is huge. That along with effect the salary cap penalty had on the middle of the roster can't be overstated. |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
No no no the magic of that season before the game I won't mention was freaking awesome and makes Schuler the way way way worse pick. Him and Fatassworth's signing are the 2 worst things I can remember as a Skins fan.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
After watching the major bowl games, I came away a fan of any Defender from LSU, Clemson & Alabama. LSU's D simply suffocated Louisville in that bowl game.
I've been reading the Great Blue North site lately Great Blue North Draft Report - Covering The NFL Draft. Anyway, after the obvious choices (round 1/2),it's tough to know where the gems are. Here are a couple names they had listed in areas where I thought they could be immediate upgrades... HENRY LANGI/LB/DE/BYU 6’3/249 #16 This do-everything defender may be a riser as we get into All-Star game action and Combine/Pro Day workouts. BYU had a Top 10 rushing Defense this season and the versatile LANGI played a big part in that work. He split time this season as a LB, and a pass-rusher with his hand on the ground. He is not a superior athlete, but he is a highly productive player with a clearly high FBI. He absolutely covered the field in BYU’s win over Wyoming in the Holiday Bowl. He was dropping into coverage, rushing the passer and, of course, stuffing the Cowboys rushing attack. He finished the night with 16 tackles, to match his uniform number, including 1 TFL. He’s big enough to take on blockers and runners at the point of attack, but also does an excellent job dropping into shallow/medium coverage. Watch for his name in the next 4 months. I just have a notion he will make some noise as a fairly early 3rd Day draftee prospect. ADAM BUTLER/DL/VANDERBILT 6’4/300 #69 One of seemingly many DL in this years prospect group who plays the DL with high energy and good intelligence, He is also versatile, as he showed all season and in the Independence Bowl against NC State. He played DT in a standard 4-3 scheme, but moved out to DE in a 3-4 set in passing downs. Vandy was able to use the two different sets interchangeably, in great part because BUTLER was strong enough to play inside on the one hand, but also athletic enough to generate some pocket pressure when moved outside in the DE spot. He showed a very effective and smooth inside-reverse pass rush spin on a couple of occasions. He was credited with 7 tackles in the Bowl match-up. Vandy is not known for great defensive players, but I have a feeling this young man may just rank as draftable, albeit late, by teams looking for versatility and depth along their defensive fronts. Teams like the PACKERS & PATRIOTS come to mind. |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
This is my top 17 choices if we stay at 17, meaning I'd pick them in this order. This is assuming we keep Cousins. If for any reason he leaves, Watson jumps to the top of the list:
1. Myles Garrett 2. Dalvin Cook 3. Jonathan Allen 4. Malik Hooker 5. Reuben Foster 6. Teez Tabor 7. Solomon Thomas 8. Caleb Brantley 9. Malik McDowell 10. Taco Charlton 11. Quincy Wilson 12. Zach Cunningham 13. Takkarist Mckinley 14. Cordrea Tankersley 15. T.J. Watt 16. Marshon Lattimore 17. Derek Barnett Note - the only reason Jamal Adams wasn't included is that he projects as a SS and we are moving Cravens there. |

Here is a list of prospects that I like: First Round: 1. Solomon Thomas 2. Deshaun Watson (he would be my first if Cousins does not return) 3. Malik Hooker 4. Reuben Foster 5. Taco Charlton 6. Cam Robinson Second round and beyond: 1. Caleb Brantley 2. Carlos Watkins 3. Carl Lawson 4. Cordrea Tankersley 5. Dede Westbrook 6. Charles Walker 7. Dorian Johnson 8. Malachi Dupre 9. Wayne Gallman 10. Samaje Perine 11. Noah Brown 12. Josh Harvey-Clemons 13. Antonio Garcia |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
If we trade Cousins my hope would be for #2 pick, exchange second round picks (34) and get their 5th. It we can do that then I would draft the following
2. Jonathon Allen DE Alabama 17. Budda Baker FS Washington 34. Raekwon McMillan ILB Ohio State 3rd. Pick Kareem Hunt RB Toledo No Trade 17. Solomon Thomas 2nd Round Justin Evans S Texas A&M or Marcus Williams FS Utah |
Taco Charlton MICH, thats who I want in the 1st.
Montravious Adams is my 2nd option so far
I would agree with Charlton. He is an animal. What I like is he actually has more than one pass rush move! He looks like a pure 4-3 end. |

This year I don't really know enough bout the CB crop...usually they are several out there everybody knows at this point, but Safety seems to have the secondary stars. I'm hoping at a shot at one of those in the first or a ballin ass baller in the front seven. |
Re: 2017 Draft Prospects
I want a low down dirty Hooker at 17. But I don't think there's a chance in hell that slut will still be there.
