[quote=calia;1173055]I'd say the same thing about Grant. Id have rather kept Harris or Davis at this point. I can only assume Grant has incriminating photos of someone.

Would be happy to be proved wrong and see him finally contribute.

Well according to McC Gruden might have a woody for Grant, which would explain how he keeps making the cut despite minimal production.

I like Gruden. If he thinks Grant can contribute I'll take him at his word. Don't think he likes Grant more than his own job.

Re: Final Roster

Keeping McClure surprised me more than cutting Sudfeld.

Really not excited at the prospect of Ziggy playing NT again. No disrespect to him,but he's out of position there.

Wasn't he the lowest ranked DL last year in PFF?

Maybe Tomsula can work miracles, but I'll need to see it before I believe it.

Don't even get me started on Ryan Grant I don't understand why he is even in the NFL just glad I don't have to watch will Blackmon get the brakes beat off him anymore.

i think we should have kept sudfeld.i think we need to get away from mccoy cause he cant be a starter any length of time if cousins gets hurt.

WTF is going on with Cravens?! Schefter just tweeted that he was contemplating retirement (and the team convinced him not to do it). And then it seems that he'll miss the beginning of the season.

We all may miss Blackmon - apparently Cravens is center contemplating retirement and is going to miss some time at the start of the season. Not good.

Let him walk and save the money. Go after and recover any of his bonus.

No need to coddle him because he will let us down at some point in the season.

Re: Final Roster

If he's contemplating it, he's already retired. Team didn't talk him out of anything, truth be told. It's just been delayed.

Re: Final Roster

Apparently this is not the first time Cravens considered retiring from the NFL. In view of his concussion history, it might be wise to let him go and wish him well in his future career.

SkinsFanChris 09-03-2017 11:29 AM

Re: Final Roster

Makes me think he really has been milking these injuries (i.e., the arm last year that people said he could've played on and the knee this year)

Never cared for the Cravens pick last year, this just justifies that.

Doesn't take much for people to turn on a guy huh. Maybe he's got some legit injury concerns regarding concussions?

FrenchSkin 09-03-2017 11:50 AM

Re: Final Roster

This sucks.

Maybe it's just a young man struggling to go though injuries and adapting to the NFL... who knows what goes through these guys' minds from time to time.
Maybe he's just being too vocal and needs to learn how to control himself and his feelings... Maybe he'll get passed it if he has a few good games...

Or maybe he's seriously contemplating retirement... that would suck.

Maybe so, but this doesn't pass the smell test to me. It's the timing. He has a little bit of a track record of not focused as well.

Think the Bucs grabbed him. Which is one reason why the timing of this couldn't have been any worse. But I like Everett replacing him right now.

Damn, not a good picture. The guy wants to possibly retire and the article mentions he is having mental/psychological issues over this. That draft class is getting worse all the time. If
Doctson turns into a walking injury this season, the draft grade for that year lowers to a big fat
D.

Fitting end to a Redskins offseason. Fuckin guy quitting at the last moment

Only this fucking organization..

Per Keim on Twitter:also have heard Cravens informed the DBs in a group chat Sat night that he would retire. Yes, they were upset.

Hopefully he is just depressed about his injury bug and will snap out of it, with some solid encouragement from the people around him. I wonder if the concussion issue is at play as well.

So he did retire? Well we know two positions that will be high priority in the draft.. Qb and
S.

Re: Final Roster

OK, ESPN said he was talked out of retiring, but this is sort of disconcerting to me. I know he is a young guy, but shit happens. If he was getting a ton of concussions then I would understand and even encourage him to retire, but this came out of nowhere. I hope he thinks it through. If he can stay healthy he has a bright future.

Re: Final Roster

Did he graduate from USC or leave early? I'd let him go. Can't win with players that don't want to be here.

Re: Final Roster

This is pretty amazing to see how many people could easily assume about someone, especially without gathering information. As we all have learned from NFL players and research since last few years, concussions in NFL can get bad fast and even life-changing experience in worst way. We all have to respect players' opinions/thoughts and their focus on their well-being than football itself. After all, they will be the one who is living with consequences of their decisions. What they, including Cravens, will do barely impact us if at all except for our irrational emotions. Yes, Cravens could have make this kind of decision earlier, enough to give Redskins some time to find a replacement but then, Cravens could have learned something significant recently. Without knowing full information, we must remain open.

For you to bash Cravens for making that decision, shows the world what is wrong with humans nowadays. We are always so quick to jump to conclusions and assume the worst, and even wish the worst on someone just because s/he made a decision that s/he felt is right for himself.

Nobody in here has condemned him, just is sort of a shock. He has a knee injury and it wasn't seen to be career threatening. The guy just seems to be discouraged/depressed and whatever he does is like you said what he deems to be the best for him. Nobody in here has railed on him, but it does suck for the team losing someone that seemed to have a bright future playing for it if he does choose to leave. I hope he stays. Just seemed to come out of nowhere.

Good post...extremely frustrating this decision was made this weekend. pretty damn selfish and irresponsible way to do it, which is on him. I hope he does get better if this is injury related.

Has this been confirmed this is injury related?

Per Keim how he told his db group text:

Cravens informed the other defensive backs in a group chat Saturday night that he was going to retire and then exited the session by saying "Peace out," a source said. They were upset with him and what they heard.

Peace out heh? Sounds like a professional
