He is walking into a pretty good team. |
He is walking into a pretty good team.
And he’s a good coach; guys play with discipline on his units and he doesn’t have stars. Lots of coordinators excel in that role and flop in the HC role (Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, and Jim Swartz come to mind). So hard to predict who will be successful when taking on the additional responsibilities of a HC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Add another job to the list and the best one iMO.. Young stud QB with a good line and D. |
Re: Black Monday!
My no 1 thing I’m praying for is Jim Schwartz to leave to go HC somewhere. He is too good to be at Philly.

Being a free agent and you already have a young QB in Webb and paying ELI I doubt it.I do think he keeps Spags for the D. |

Four years of coaching and he is a head coach in the NFL,why is it a "Great hire"? |

He's been up and coming, his defenses have been pretty good despite injuries to Clowney and Watt. I think he'll be a pretty good coach who's a fiery competitor. |

Kinda what I mean.He has only coached four years and has had some great talent to work with so I question if it's him or the talent and then he has never coached the Offense or special teams. Yeah I know he has played it but that is a whole different game. |

I think it could be a little soon for a head coaching job in the NFL. Most successful coaches have more of a background. |
Re: Black Monday!
The Vrabel hire is a complete joke. The Texans defense sucked. How is he going to get Mariota better? A lot more people out there that have paid their dues. The NFL is all over the Patriots nuts that it's laughable. How did McDaniels fare w/out Brady? He's so smart that he drafted Tebow in the 1ST ROUND. LOL. How did his offense look in St. Louis when he was the OC?
I swear the NFL thinks that all these Patriots assistants and front office folks have some kind of majic wan or something. I can't wait for Brady to retire and then we'll see how good they are. He should go into Kraft's office and ask for a piece of the franchise. |

What a boring ass hire. That's the best the all mighty Giants could do? He doesn't seem like he has the kind of personality that's ready to deal with NY. Whoever the person is that fired Coughlin should be fired. |
Re: Black Monday!
Ive always been of the opinion that Cam has always under-performed and has been a waste of potential.
I think Norvs offense may be good for him and could push him.
Cam's issues are partly his throwing mechanics. If he could get with the right coach that would be a stickler on that he'd be a much better passer. |

I would be interested in hiring Dick LeBeau as a consultant to make the defense better.

Give him some time, there are plenty of one hit wonders in the NFL coaching ranks. One year does not make him the next great NFL head coach. |
Re: Black Monday!
McDaniels turned down the Colts ,he is staying in NE.

Re: Black Monday!
This whole josh McDaniels deal stinks!! How the hell do you get hired as head coach and sign off on hiring assistants and then back out?? This is worse than any thing the skins have done !
|
Re: Black Monday!
Sucks for Indy to have to start the coaching search over this late in the game, but there were rumors this could happen
|
Re: Black Monday!
If I was a possible, future, employer for McDaniels, I'd be a little hesitant on hiring him after this stunt. Yes, I realize Belichick did something very similar years ago, but it just seems kind of flaky to me. I think he knows BB is stepping down soon and feels he's next in line for the Patriots job.

Possibly Kraft all but promised him this...but why would you want that? I'd hate to be the coach that follows Belichick and Brady....that ceiling is so high there's no way you could follow those 2 and have success. Richie Petitbon anyone?? |

Who wants to go to Indy??? Luck is a ? May never play again and they have nothing around him

Someone has to coach the Patriots after BB leaves. I think if you're a competitor, and this applies to coaches as well as players, you want to have that chance to continue the winning tradition. |

I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a "do not hire" list for a lot of NFL teams now. |
Re: Black Monday!
McDaniels drafted Tebow in the first round and one of his assistants was caught taping another teams walk through. His offense stunk in St. Louis. That pretty much should tell you to never ever hire the guy as a head coach. Yet there teams that still have a hard on for the guy cause he calls plays for Tom Brady. Have any of the Patriots assistants done well after they left?

Nope because none of them have TOM BRADY lol, that is the only reason these guys get jobs, Tom and Bill make them all look better than they are |

Kind of like Joe Gibbs' assistants. I don't remember Joe Bugel being very successful as a head coach, and we know Richie Petitbon was not successful. It might be a good thing that he stays with New England. We can see the slow burn of a once great dynasty being torn down. |
