Jets resigned McCown for 10 million. Now that's a great value signing. He'll play just as good as Cousins will if he starts 16 games.

Speaking of getting paid....fucking Ryan Grant. ROOOOOOOOOOFL
@RapSheet The #Ravens are expected to sign #Redskins FA WR Ryan Grant, source said. It’s a 4-year deal worth $29M with $14.5M guaranteed, source said. He gets a $10M signing bonus. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/973719863104626689 |

Welcome back. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
That's a hell of a deal for Grant. I wouldn't have paid him that kind of money, but more power to him.
|
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Ozzie must have lost his mind. I guess the pressure finally got to him. The Grant deal is the most shocking deal I can recall in a long while.
That is, except for the fully guaranteed $84M deal for Cousins. The fact that this huge deal is fully guaranteed is a back-breaker for NFL owners. They must hate the Vikings ownership for opening up Pandora's box. |

Brees 05 prob the last time. It will be interesting to see how this affects qb negotiations in the future. My guess is teams probably gonna hate it because fully guaranteed deals could screw a team if the qb gets injured. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
If $84m is a back breaker for a team over 3 years they’re seriously doing something wrong

Ozzie retired Edit: I'm wrong, he is still with Ravens for one more season but apparently under different capacity. I don't know who makes final decision for Ravens FO though. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
I agree - in all honesty is $28million a year. which is less than the franchise tag we paid him last year. and with the rise of the cap each year - I think they will be just fine. You have to plan these contract looking 3 years down the road. Minnesota is not a team that generally screws up the cap.

Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Sam Bradford is the luckiest guy in the NFL. He has made so much money and has done so little.
Looks at McCown's numbers last year. They're better than Cousins or just as good and he had less of a team around him. |

Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
One of the most surprising deals of free agency will be Jerrick McKinnon's with the 49ers: It is expected to be a four-year deal worth $30 million -- an average of $7.5 million per year, per source.

Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Because of Hyde?? Come on bro
They also have Duke Johnson who is pretty good, Hyde is a very good back and underrated. I'm not saying they will pass on Barkley but it's not impossible to think that. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Because of Hyde?? Come on bro
With new GM and Scot in Browns office, it's kinda hard to see them spending money on RBs now that they just signed Hyde and they are trying to extend Duke Johnson. Without looking at numbers and I'm guessing Duke Johnson's worth, if they draft Barkely, then it would mean they are spending around $15m on RBs per year? That is unless Browns want to become a team who will always run, which is something they can do with Tyrod Taylor. |

Man AJ Mccarron is the big Loser of FA.. Dude was going to be a starter for Cle and now nobody wants him lol

Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Browns signing Hyde makes me wonder if they're maybe trying to trade their pick to someone who really wants Barkley...assuming the Giants would get him at the #2 spot if they don't take him.
|
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Siemian is going to bounce around the league for about 10 years as a better-than-average back-up and make a solid living at it. Same is probably true for AJ McCarron, although he will likely get a shot at starter somewhere along the line.
