Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Here is why the Giants can win. They have wr's, rb and a TE that can make big plays. Beckham can get loose a few times and score from anywhere, as can Barkley. We don't have that kind of playmaker. I want to see Preston Smith dominate this week. Everyone is pissing on Solider. He wasn't this bad playing for the Pats.
Center, right guard and right tackle are utter trash...solder and Hernandez are head and shoulders more talented on the left side. Payne, Matty I and Kerrigan should feast. Allen should do well against Hernandez...but Preston job will probably be to set the edge and don’t let saquon turn the corner. I won’t have a problem if that is the strategy. |

exactly why I'm a bit concerned, we SHOULD win this game by 7 but we all know that's not how we roll. |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
The only way the Giants win is if we beat ourselves.
If we play the run tough as we have all year and don’t turn it over, it will be next to impossible for the Giants to win. It might not be pretty but honestly who cares. If you’re worried about style points this year it’s time to find a new team. |

He wasn't as bad playing for the Pats as he had a QB who got the ball out in less than 2 seconds, and brilliant playcalling that makes up for various deficiencies. Solder has been solid but not spectacular, and is being asked to do a lot more this season -- he's finding his limits pretty fast. I agree re: the playmakers -- they have a better RB and stud WR (head case though he is) than we do, and each can score every time they touch the ball. Their offense is a lot better than the one we just faced, and while their D is much worse, we're not a team built to win a shootout. We will need to control the ball and keep their playmakers off the field, just like we did with Green Bay. I think we can, but they cannot take this team lightly. |

If you’re worried about style points this year it’s time to find a new team.
They're going to look to get the ball out of Eli's hands quickly because they know our pass rush is decent. So we'll have to swarm to the ball and tackle well. The one concern I have is letting Beckham or Saquon have any space to breathe after they catch the ball - if they have some open space to work with they'll take it to the house. So my plan would be to make Eli have to beat you deep, meaning make their line block you long enough to throw downfield. I doubt they can do it. So I'd bring DJ up towards the line quite a bit and let the corners play up on the line. When they try those little quick bubble screens to Beckham you have to be there to hit him immediately. If they want to try 7 step drops behind that line with statue Eli back there, I'll take my chances with Montae in single high. Chances are our pass rush will disrupt Manning often enough. I think you're right, I think the Skins know that the Giants will try to get the ball out of Eli's hands quickly. They'll have a plan to squash any possibility of Beckham or Saquon having space to work with. |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Quinton Dunbar and Jamison Crowder not practicing today.
Crowder been a bum again this year...guess trey Quinn will be taking his position this offseason. It’s crazy about Dunbar...and they really don’t seem to know what’s going on. Shin pain, nerve damage? |

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Our DBs have terrible fucking luck with nerve injuries.
Kyshoen Jarrett was not that long ago. Maybe its more common than I think across the league, doesn't feel that way tho. |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
All about preparation this week.
Has Jay Gruden really changed his relationship with this locker room after the NOS loss ? This week will be very telling: after back to back wins, can you keep the guys fired up and focused? We all know we have talent to win this game. Our biggest enemy could be ourselves... I do hope the players are fed up with losing games they should win because of sloppiness, so: Skins 24 Giants 17 |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Since last season Giants are 1-8 when out-gaining opponents. Those worried about the Skins moving the ball can take a deep breath.
I feel oddly confident going into a game. That hasn't happened in a while. |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
I am more concerned about this game then the Cowboys game. Eli has always has the skins number and we generally do not do well after a big win.

I think we lost to the Colts because we weren't ready to play, whereas they were fired up. So, they beat the crap out of us. As for the NOS game, I think we were outclassed by a better team that also had all the circumstances in their favor. I watched last week's Giants game and I thought the G-Men played very hard, especially on defense. I expect them to play hard this week, too. We had better be ready to slug it out because it will be a fight. |

For the first part, maybe I'm misusing the word sloppiness, but IMO there's a link between preparation and "fired-up-ness": Josh Norman doesn't blow coverage because he doesn't know the playbook, he blows coverage because he's not well enough focused, and part that is bad energy in the locker room. Really? Dallas imo is a much better team than the Giants. Much better in the trenches and defensively play as a more cohesive unit.... Giants have the ability to burn you with the big play...and chances are they will at least once against us. We need to contain the Saquon kid and then limit the big pass plays. It would be nice if Alex could make a big pass play, but he has been such a disappointing mess I really have my doubts. |

Interestingly enough Giants rank 30th in rushing offense with 83.7 yds/g. One man show so stuff the box and force Eli to make the plays. |

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
right now we have 1 team left over .500, I can't remember the last time our schedule was this "easy". Although with the redskins nothing is ever easy

But we've also have had brutal schedules. I think last year's schedule was pretty tough, which didn't help with all of the injuries we had. |

Looking at the schedule @NY (WIN) ATL (LOSS) @TB (WIN) HOU (WIN) @DAL (LOSS) @PHI (LOSS) NY (WIN) @JAX (WIN) @TEN (WIN) PHI (WIN) I think we can def get to 11 wins |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Its the NFL and this year it seems anything can happen. I'm saying AS has his best game and we roll over the Giants from the first series.
Skins 35 Giants 13 A game where I can actually relax and enjoy the 4th qtr. |

Quinton Dunbar is on a side field again today. Not doing anything yet. Jamison Crowder not out here but Thompson, Richardson are on the field. Zach Brown also on the field with helmet on. This Dunbar thing isn’t good at all. |
I have not really seen the Giants play this year. Is Eli that bad or does he not have any help?
From what I gather, is a combination of Eli being bad and their o-line being worst. |

Both, Eli is done but his line has not helped him out. Nate Solder hasn't lived up to the signing either |

it gives something for the Giants to strive for. We should all have goals in life why not be worst in the NFL in rushing yardage? Hopefully the Skins help you out with it this weekend. |

A good rush, especially from the interior where the QB can't step up, has a way of hiding problems in the secondary. As long as we can get to statue Eli this week, I think we can live without Dunbar. And I think he'll be back pretty soon. But I hear ya, we still want him back for sure. |

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Giants are going to hit a few big plays in the passing game. Looks like Stroman will be back out there, plus Fabian, they're getting toasted. Plus Barkley can be split out and we don't have a LB who can cover him. Question is can we hit some?

I think the bigger question is without Snacks and Alec Ogletree (hurt) can they stop Peterson? Not sure we'll need to hit any big ones. Peterson might go for five yards a carry and we might win the TOP battle 35 - 25. Screen pass to Thompson goes for a TD, Reed for a TD in the red zone, and Peterson runs one in. We win 24-20 |

Not even sure you need that much Kool Aid to see the Skins getting to 11 wins, a little sip may be enough... don't see us getting there the same way skinsfaninok does, but if the Skins play up to their potential, they could get there. Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
The Redskins team that played Green Bay wins all of those games.
The Redskins team that played Indy loses all of those games. Time to find out which team we are. I don't think there's any team, save for perhaps Oakland and Arizona, that can't compete with us. But I think there are a few teams -- NO and LAR -- that we cannot compete with. We're moving in the right direction, but we have a ways to go still. I do think we win this weekend. |
Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
The Redskins remaining opponents have a combined winning percentage of .391...Predict the Redskins win/loss record after 16 games.
The Redskins remaining opponents have a combined winning percentage of .391...Predict the Redskins win/loss record after 16 games.
5 of those games are against division opponents where season records mean less. Houston just put 42 on miami and the afc south has been strong against the nfc east. Our 4 early wins help, but i see us ending with 9 wins, less if our second half issues continue on offense
