Remember how so many people were talking shit about the Scherff pick back in 2015. (ever Leonard Williams) Those fuckers eating crow now. Looking at that draft, no doubt Scherff would be the #2 pick in a redo
I do remember. Never understood it. Complete BS that some say Guards are not valuable enough to draft high in the draft. Top talent is top talent regardless of the position. I remember when punter Ray Guy was the first punter to ever be drafted in the first round. Some people criticized it but Ray Guy is now in the Hall of Fame after a great career. |
Re: Dirty Birds Preview
The kicker will always be the intention was to have him play right tackle. He probably would have been a good tackle, but he’s a great guard.

Re: Dirty Birds Preview
Per JK:
Quinton Dunbar just picked a pass in a 1-1 drill. Came up hard on the outside. Expectation has been that he’ll be ready Sunday. So this qualifies as a good sign. |
Re: Dirty Birds Preview
Good luck Redskins. Love the new attitude Alex brought to the team. And really they are hot.

Facing Atlanta's receiving corps we're going to need every healthy starting DB we can get! And as good as our rookies are, the discrepancie between Dunbar and Stroman or Alexander is HUGE ! Looks like CT may miss this week, he's questionable but Jay says hes in pain.

Matty I reminds me of Justin Smith. Strong as hell, great motor.

Re: Dirty Birds Preview
Worried about Trent Williams' dislocated thumb. Would be bad to lose him this week (or any week).

Yep!! I’m sure that’s why McCloughan drafted him |

This would be the week to let him rest tho, Falcons D line is weak |

What are the injuries for Crowder and Thompson? |

yea well the saints were a "weak d" when we faced them too. I'm never sold until that final whistle goes. |

That's what I say to. If it's week 16, and our playoff spot is certain, then sit players, until that point I would only sit those who need to be out. |
Re: Dirty Birds Preview
So who's our rb's this weekend? From what i can find Peterson is questionable but will play,Ct probably not,Bibbs seperated his shoulder so I dont see him playing, that leaves Perrine, who's not a 3rd down back but I would like to see him get some carries.Am I missing someone?

I haven't heard anything about Bibbs being held out so he's possible. Wouldn't surprise me to see the game-day actives being Peterson, Bibbs and Perine with CT out. |

Well that sucks |
Re: Dirty Birds Preview
Wasn't sure where to put this, so here it is. But I just want to give Gruden and Manusky a bit of props for rethinking their defensive line rotation. In years passed they would have a big rotation of 5 or 6 players, spreading the snaps around quite a bit. They started off this year doing the same thing. Then suddenly for the Green Bay game they started leaning heavily on Payne, Allen, and Ioannidis. It's rare that the reserves even see the field now, you rarely see Settle, Brantley, Hood when he was on the roster, they just don't get on the field much now.
Credit where it's due. They moved away from a long held practice to adjust and do something differently. It has definitely paid off. One of the big complaints about Jay has been lack of adjustments, of any kind, in-game or otherwise. Credit for this one, they adjusted this line rotation and we're beastly up front. |

I remember his first few years the first game would be problem x, y, and z. the second game seemed to solve one of em (like to many penalties or whatever else) and by the 4th game he seemed to have a lot of the recurring issues resolved. It's why I expect our passing game to and 3rd quarter scoring to be solved shortly. His biggest issues always have been game time management, and in game reactions/changes. |

Re: Dirty Birds Preview
I've been hard on Preston Smith and his zero sacks but I could see him getting 3 this game. I hope he uses this game to get right for the second half of the season.

Good in the run game, quite a lot of pressures, improved in coverage... I'd say better than last year by quite a lot.

Re: Dirty Birds Preview
Its not a must win game. But winning this would be huge. 6-2. I think if we win this one the national opinion on this team will rise quite a bit. For me personally, it would too. It is hard to win 75% of NFL games, or any sport for that matter.

May have gotten ahead of myself on the "way better than last year" part, but this season seems like a better all around performance imo. |
Re: Dirty Birds Preview
It would be nice to win this game from a tie breaker perspective toward the end of the year ..having wins over the Panthers and Falcons could really cement playoff chances in the NFC. I think both those teams will be in the hunt for a spot at seasons end.
I think Jay is very good to excellent at game to game type adjustments.
.
This must be why skins offense progressively scores more and more points as the game goes on. He is SOOO good at halftime adjustments. This is like saying he is also great at motivation an making sure his teams play to their maximum potential regardless of who they are playing. Frankly, these are the 2 weaknesses that will eventually get him fired. Unless of course he is blessed with talent and wins a couple playoff games |

Dan Graziano: https://twitter.com/DanGrazianoESPN/status/1058418809646825472 Nsekhe usually could handle LT on his own but I still have some concerns when we play Houston and Dallas.. |

WTF! It's just a thumb! Wrap it up in a cast and move on! Can't you put a cast on it that keeps the thumb stiff but leaves the other 4 fingers hang out? I've seen those before, this is going to be a bif loss being out for a month |
