Everyone has an opinion on the Reuben Foster claim. It's interesting to readit all. He likely doesn't play again in 2018. His contract runs through 2020. The "Alabama influence" may help. One thing is certain - the Skins can drop him quickly with no cap hit - if need be
Agree. He isn't playing this year and is cheap. One thing I know is that if he cleans up his act and plays great nobody will care about his past. Winning is the ultimate deodorant. |

I know he isnt AP or Foster, but we did sign butt fumble as a back up so....
IMO, the main reason the Skins (or any team for that matter) didn't consider Kaep is because he hasn't taken a snap in two years. He's been out of the league too long now. |

Tremendous rookie season. PFF had him ranked amongst the highest rookie LBs. Very poor this year though, missing tons of tackles. PFF has him among the worst in missed tackles. |

Bottom line is Kaep turned himself into kryptonite. I'm not trying to say anything about the merits of his kneeling but teams just didn't want to be bothered with him and his protesting. Too much of a distraction from a player who wasn't enough of a superstar to make all the noise he brought with him worth it. |

What I do know is there was only one NFL team that even spoke to the Tampa police inquiring as to what transpired for this latest domestic violence arrest. And that team was not the Redskins. And I understand it is all 'alleged'. But in this instance, the victim had visibly 'alleged wounds' to include scratches and bruises. Stunned at your stereotype. I assume you are single? |
I'm glad you remember how bad the beatings Peterson dished out were. So many people forget about that now, i feel. Peterson wasn't providing discipline, he was committing assault on a tiny, small child. He beat the child to the extent that he had cuts and open wounds, probably permanent scarring. The wounds were to / around the child's genital area, as well as defensive wounds on the child's hands and face. That is beyond sick. He also has a "discipline" room where he hung all of his belts and switches on the wall, like a torture chamber. i believe we discussed this on the boards here when the news first broke, but here's the recap in case anyone has forgotten Peterson's abuse.

It is like if our sons or daughters date someone we do not approve of. We don’t necessarily cut ties with them, but we can surely implore them not to. And yes I love the Redskins as much as my own flesh and blood. Kidding not kidding. |

Well exactly. But I think the point some are making is domestic violence and child abuse are much more kryptonic than protest. Or in this case they are not. Which is what the problem is. |

Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
Bob Papa said this looks like a desperation move by the skins FO, Meaning they know if things go south like they appear, guys will lose jobs. Most are clowning the skins after this move but IMO I think it's a easy decision. If he can't play no harm is done and if he can play he may be a good addition.

He also has a laundry list of things he did other than kneeling for the flag. Wore socks to practice that depicted police as pigs. Made internet posts comparing cops to runaway slave catchers. He praised Fidel Castro and wore a shirt with his likeness. He also did football related things teams would not like. He switched to a vegan diet without professional supervision losing an overly excessive amount of muscle mass while recovering from surgery. He dated a teammates ex who may not even be an ex at the time that caused them to almost come to blows and some supposed damage to Kap's car. That guy was Aldon Smith, some of Smith's issues could have been tied to Kap. He was also aloof and kept mostly to himself, he did not interact with teammates like a leader should. He also worked hard in areas he was already good at, running and strength, and would not put in the extra work where he was deficient. If you want more study film on his play. He flees the pocket early, never gets past a second read and locks on receivers. He is extremely poor at reading defenses. His early successes were from mostly his running, he steadily went downhill after his initial success. He has been out of football 2 years and is 3-16 the last two seasons he played. |

Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
I'm still in "wait and see" mode on this, but not a fan initially. It's like the Redskins said, "Hey, it's POSSIBLE this guy might be absolved of any wrongdoing, so let's just take a chance on a potential piece of shit." Ehh, if all charges are dropped (not filed?) then it sits a little better, but man this isn't even a second chance, more like a fifth?

The thought has occurred to me that the reason we keep accumulating Alabama players has at least something to do with a long term play to lure Nick Saban to succeed Jay Gruden.

I heard Saban does want another crack at the NFL. He strikes me as the kind of guy that wants to prove he is the best anyplace anywhere.
