Guice, Hunt, Thompson backfield is going to be amazing next year.

Hunt just filmed a clip of when keeping it real goes wrong.

How can someone with so much to lose behave so stupidly? Blows my mind.

I guess that depends on the agreement with the NFLPA and contract. In the NHL they have a zero tolerance policy which means that if you have talent they are likely to tolerate you missing exactly a quarter of the season and miss zero of the postseason.

After Foster front office fiasco, Hunt won’t probably be claimed till next year. Bad press from the Redskins, don’t think another team wants the same.

Really wish the NFL would adopt a true no tolerance policy for domestic violence. If convicted you're out of the league for a year. If you want back in you have to go through an intense rehab program. 2nd offense banned for life. Something along those lines.

I agree SF. Add in the video and it's just too much heat for someone to take on right now. Plus he's probably not going to be eligible to play this year anyway.

Our society enabling bad behavior. Between a majority of football that always defend star football players because they want their team to win. To wives/girlfriends that later recant or try to change their story of getting assaulted because they do not want to ruin the star players career. Ray Rice’s girlfriend tried to get all charges dropped and only because of the hotel video did the truth get out. She then married him. How many times has the lack of video kept guilty players out of trouble.
Even our new LB had his charges reduced.
Did you hear the cop in the YouTube video ask Kareem’s witnesses, second question “Kareem Hunt form the NFL Kansas City chief?”
That changed everything.

I would say at the very least a ZTP should be based on a. criminal conviction but I would also have to say if there was actual video/photo evidence as in Ray Rice. It doesn't matter if charges are not filed in that instance IMO.

So statistics show that NFL players get arrested less than the average US male aged 20-39, but that does raise the question are the arrest rates lower because of who they are and not because they are actually saints compared to the average American 20-39 male.

Should Mixon and Hunt be kicked out of the league for good?

There is video evidence of both.

Both say they were called a racial slur by the person they hit/kicked. Should that matter in any way?

Mixon's punch looked brutal, Hunt's kicked didn't look as hard, should that matter in any way?

I am not sure a kicked out of league for good approach would be best or even reach the table. My guess is it would be a hierarchy that increase punishment with each instance.

As far as I know the racial slurs are all heresay right? There is no evidence only eye witnesses in regards to it?

As far as the intensity that shouldn't matter as it is a ZTP.

Regardless I would be very curious to see how the NFL and the NFLPA would negotiate a ZTP.

All you have to do is remember how they handled O.J. Simpson to know well known athletes get special treatment. How many times did O.J. beat and terrorize Nicole and get away with it? Then there was the low speed chase if that was John Doe murder suspect they would have disabled than Bronco pretty quick.

Under a ZTP, would pushing a yelling, angry spouse away from a player's face be treated the same as the knockout punch of Ray Rice?

Re: Kareem Hunt cut

I actually say sign him off waivers if you can.
Why? We are already taking the PR heat for the same exact issue anyways for 2 other players, particularly for one playing the same position that is aging out.

The positives?
Talent
Group anger management classes are more cost effective if everyone is on the same team.

From a marketing standpoint, any press is good press.
In 2020, we may have 2 amazing playmakers. Who do we have now? No one

BTW. This isn't just a shove a woman thing. This is a shove ANYONE thing. We praise a lifetime of training football players to hit ,hit, hit...yet we're appalled when they do it off the field. We are frankly hypocrites. BTW, what about Fights with other guys? The real issue is Anger and harming others off the field. And this showboating and taunting generally reflects an arrogant in you face attitude along these same lines. It is possible to play football and stay cool. Look at Art Monk. However, he is not the norm. Violence begets violence. Football is a violent sport of striking those in conflict with you. I am not surprised at all.

I think the best thing to do is look at the MLB and MLBPA agreement. That has to be the best policy for domestic violence in all of professional sports.

Not at all. But is you have been trained, as a child to hit, hit, hit. And do so through teenage years, etc. You are more likely to hit than if you were trained to hug, hug, hug.

Most careers are not trained since a child. Particularly encouraging physical hitting as a positive attribute.
Cops and military may also exhibit similar issues as they too are typically from anhitting is good mentality as a child or adolencent. Although not a regularly as daily hitting training.

Don't kill me on that. I am just saying if you train to hit, hit, hit, you are probably more likely to hit in anger or under pressure. We do what we are trained to do.

You can't be serious. He is a strong well condition man, she is a teenage girl. She posed no threat. A real man turns and walks away.
Somebody doesn't have to hit you first to warrant being hit.
This is where you are wrong.
Not only you should never strike someone if being provoked. You should not even strike someone after merely being shoved. Your view on this is exactly why his career is now in jeopardy. Have you ever heard if someone strikes you on the left cheek, turn an offer them the other cheek too?

Self defense comes into play after multiple strikes or a life threatening situation. This argument or words justify physical stiking is the core attitude problem that causes escalation an violence in our macho testosterone attack world.

Hitting someone in anger is almost always wrong. Period. Except on a football field where it is considered awesome

Buffalo Bob 12-01-2018 12:14 PM

Re: Kareem Hunt cut

For the record I practiced what I preached about turning and walking away. I have been punched in the face numerous times by women, my ex wife even managed to bloody my nose once. Her logic was since I was way bigger and an ex boxer she could not hurt me. I usually just laughed at her. When I was younger I had a habit of escalating domestic issues with poor choices of words.
I wasn't the guy who would come home with flowers when I was in the dog house. Right before I left home at 17 my mother hit me across the back with one of those wooden rolling pins. Hurt like hell, I never even thought of retaliating.

skinsnut 12-01-2018 12:26 PM

Re: Kareem Hunt cut

Along the lines of off the field violence, why is it that RBs are so vilolent vs kickers and QBs? It seems certain "deliver a hit" positions seem to have a disproportionate amount of off field hitting others issues.
