Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
Even though Henry has been red hot lately I like the matchup with our D. He's a straight line, downhill guy. Clog the holes and get to him before he gets going and we'll have a chance. If he gets to the 2nd level consistently it will be a long day.
Strength v. strength. Still, they're playing very good football the last several weeks, and so I view this is a very hard game to win. My heart says: Skins 23, Titans 17 My head says: Titans 28, Skins 16 My Magic 8 Ball says: Outlook not so good. (On a second shake, it said: You may rely on it. I am afraid to shake it a third time and see the answer.) |
Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
Bringing my exuberant optimism back into this thread:
Schneed said that Henry has been on a tear, and that's true. 2 weeks ago he ran for 238 yds, and last week 170 yards. BEFORE those 2 weeks, he ran for (most recent game first) 40, 30, 46, 58, 27,33,21,56,24,57,56,and 26 I don't know what sparked the last two weeks run totals (it was against Jax and NYG good defenses, but teams out of contention). We can and should stop Henry. From there it's on the pass rush and JGruden.
The offensive line sparked it. They put it all together. PFF had them as the top ranked run blocking unit in the NFL and yielded only two pressures to the Giants. We'll have to win at the line of scrimmage, that's where Derrick Henry has suddenly made his money. He's building up that head of steam because the line is keeping guys off of him until he's two yards past the line of scrimmage. We will have to bring our hard hats to deal with this group, this is different than shutting down Leonard Fournette whose line is just not the same caliber. I do like our defensive line. But do I like our second level? I don't know, they need to show me they're done with fitting into the wrong gaps and stupid shit like that. Which is basically asking me to put faith in Greg Manusky and... You know what I'm going to say. |
Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
Titans offense doesn't scare...and the defense really doesn't scare me.....what scares me is our offense and defense.

You said it better than I could. You're off the hook for being terrible with QBR. |
Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
I think our D shows up for this one, I just don't see much from the O. I hope JJ can manke some plays and get a few good passes downfield (15 or so yards).

Well timed, play action shots...we should always be trying to hit a couple. Josh making plays outside the pocket with his feet is more of a problem for the Tennessee defense. Id say we need to be creative, but Ive been saying that for the previous 10 weeks with Alex. What reason to believe we will start doing it now? |

Or can he play this week? |
Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
Got my answer.
Tight end Jordan Reed has been ruled out for Saturday's game at Tennessee. Tight end Vernon Davis is questionable with a concussion. He developed symptoms Wednesday and did not practice. He's now in the concussion protocol. Receiver Josh Doctson is questionable with a lower... |

Can we sign Tom Wilson to play tight end?

Nobody would dream of a late hit on JJ if he was there. |
Pretty much how you rip Cousins everytime he has a bad game but it's crickets when he plays well. Isn't that getting old too? lol.
Also the 6-3 argument w/ Smith is so off. First off if it would have been 6-4 because we lost the Texans game and he contributed greatly to that loss. Also I really don't see any games where he would have made a difference. In a lot of the wins he started it was clearly defense and the running game. He doesn't put up points or hit any big plays. Love the guy and his character but I don't want him as our QB. We'll never win anything w/ him.
It was an ugly 6-3. Not a Cousins fan but the Redskins screwed up by not resigning Cousins when Scott was here. Either way we would still need to look for a better qb.... |

He knows where to park himself on the sideline, too: right next to Gruden. Just in case Gruden wants another playcaller. “I will be ready to roll,” Peterson said. “I’ll be by his side again, I’ll tell you that.” AD is hungry for more carries.. Pretty remarkable at 33 Years of age to be doing this for a whole season. Nobody is talking about him in the national media but I would imagine he has to be Comeback player of the year right? |

There are guys on this team that are in the final year of their contract and they are just coasting waiting for the next payday. How often do you see a guy crank it up the final year of their rookie contract then go back to coasting? We can't even get that one good year out of a guy. |
Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
I hear J Reed stepped on a single grain of sand and hurt his ankle. As he limped home a leaf fell from a tree injuring his left shoulder.

Re: Remember the Titans: Pregame Thread
Who is JJ going to throw to if Doc and Davis are out? We might as well run the wishbone.

Look, it's our 4th qb throwing to our 3rd and 4th TE and 3, 4th and 5th receivers, behind our 4th and 5th guards. What can go wrong? |

He's not even on TOO many top 5 lists.. Luck, Watt, Rogers, Watson, Wentz, Sherman... Most of the time those names are wmore prevelant to the media clowns. Shame cuz I think he deserves it. |

I see it from guys on the oline and qb...I see zilch of this character in our skill players. I’d like to see doc, reed, Vernon Davis, crowder gone tomorrow. |

We'll see a couple of former Skins today, Orakpo.. looks like Tarzan plays like Jane, and Will Compton. Always liked Compton.
