reportedly Foles will sign with Jacksonville... which makes them less likely to pick a QB

If Haskins or Lock slide to 15 then take them, otherwise trade down it is a deep draft and a extra 2nd or 3rd would help a lot
Nobody knows for sure if a drafted player will be good or not. But OSU QB Haskins looks not very prepared for this. He has a noticeable spare tire around his waist and looks very slow. How can he show up to this incredibly important job interview in this kind of shape? Does he not care? Couldn’t he have hired a trainer and worked hard to be in shape at the combine? It not like OSU school work for football players is tough. Smells like bust? Not a hard worker?
Nobody cares about his 40 time unless you’re Stephen A Smith.

He had a good combine and threw the ball very well.

I don’t care about his 40 time either. I question if he might be a lazy slob. Not that his 40 time is slow.
Throwing in your underwear with no pass rush is not a good measure just like 40 time.

Did you see him throw? He can spin it. Once he gets in a pro program he’ll slim down a bit, but at nearly 6’4 230 I don’t see a big problem with his physique.

Let's go with Mosley (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/04/ravens-will-not-use-franchise-tag-on-c-j-mosley/) and Collins (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/04/report-giants-unlikely-to-tag-landon-collins/) as our free agent spending for this year.

Re: Around the NFL - Off season / Combine / Draft thread

I am from the Draft Big Guys draft philosophy. Controlling the line of scrimmage is fundamental and makes everything else easier. Especially having a dominating solid offensive line. Which has been a weakness the last few years.
IF (big IF) OL Jonah Williams from Alabama drops like some are rumoring and is available at 15, we have to take him and start him at LG.
He is a clone of Brandon Scherff. Considered the best OL in the draft, 4 year starter at Alabama, played LT in college. Excellent at both run blocking and pass blocking. No weakness' in his game and was a top 10 draft talent before the combine.
At the combine his arms measured 33 5/8 inches, a little short of the 34-inch mark some idiot "experts" say is critical for playing left tackle in the NFL. Probably just other teams that want him are blowing smoke to try and get him to drop.
but he might also drop from the top 10 because this O-line class is deeper than previously thought and several O-Lineman shined at the combine: Andre Dillard, Jawaan Taylor, Erik McCoy, etc.
Plus with the usual QB's desperate reaches some dumb teams will make.
Then there is TE TJ Hockenson that some mock draft now have him moving up into top 10. Not me have you, but others are saying.
Even if Jonah Williams is gone at 15 and there is no stud edge rusher, I still say draft an O-lineman. At 15 there will be several good starters to pick from. O-Line is critical and there should be no weakness at the five positions.
That is why we should not give up the 15th pick.

Looks like David Irving is off the market.

This is a thing when you sober up and think...that was probably a mistake.

Not looking for this, but it was on my youtube. Only watched a few minutes.....
Kyler Murray at 15 years old won the Texas 5A state championship in High school. Texas 5A is a whole different level.

He was probably the same height as he is now.

I have no problem with picking Murray...if he magically falls to 15, hell it would probably be worth the risk, but I don't want to trade up for any QB this year.

Antonio Brown is a loser. Bills fans deserve better, glad that trade didn't go thru. Those fans deserve better than that pussy ass bitch.

Antonio Brown is a perfect example of not letting success turn you into a piece of shit scumbag.

Looks like raiders upgraded over amari cooper....at the sametime that cooper extension just got more expensive for Dallas

Flipped Cooper for Brown and got a first round and gave a 3rd round.

On the other hand pot is legal in a lot of states, alcohol is fine and does a lot more damage and the NFL passes out pain killers like candy, yet marijuana is a banned substance? That doesn't make any sense.

Preaching to the choir. I think you will see a change next cba, but for now, Irving to protest and go about it the way he did on social media was completely idiotic. You have to be a complete moron...

The pain killers thing was back in the 70's as for pot yeah it's legal to smoke it but like alcohol it's still dangerous to be under the influence of it.
Drinking is legal but I can't do it at work and if I am under the "influence" of it I am fired.

Don't want to get into any nearsighted debate about how alcohol is legal so it's "ok" or just as harmful or safe as weed. Lol, that's one of the biggest crocs of shit the gov'ment ever got away with. Population control and $$ ppl

You really think the NFL quit passing out pain killers? Ever heard of Brett Favre? I think he played after the 1970's. I am not an advocate of smoking pot either, I am just being fair. Also people can test positive long after the effects of marijuana have worn off. Testing dirty for marijuana does not mean someone is stoned. It isn't like alcohol where a test can judge the level of intoxication.

I never smoked, but had friends that did. Back in my younger days I never had to keep a stoned friend from destroying something or starting a fight because they were stoned, yet I had many a time where I had to keep a friend who had too many drinks from getting into trouble.
