Couple of things to untie. Juts my opinions. 1. I dont think Jay didnt want Haskins, he just didnt want Haskins at 15 overall. 2. Id say the majority of fans agree that Haskins is not ready-ready. I think the fan divide is what is best for Haskins long term - (1) play the kid and let him learn by fire, he will only learn if he gets live reps, or (2) play the vets and bring the kid along until he is better prepared to read defenses, slide protections, etc. 3. I dont think many people are saying Haskins was a blown pick. Way to early to tell. I think fan divide comes into just how much of a project he is. Me personally, I think Daniel Jones starting for 4 years or so was way more prepared to start than Dwayne Haskins and his 14 games at OSU. I think he is a project and even though he spurned the Terps and my view of Haskins is coming from a negative place .. his arm talent is there and he seems to hang tough in the pocket perhaps to tough to relaxed imo. He has the tools, I just dont like him turning into an RG3 light with his liking of an instagram post of Jays firing and some other stuff. Apparently with RG3 in meetings he would repeatedly say "yeah I got it, i got it" then come game time not have a clue. |

We will get another yes man and BA will continue to draft poorly. Honestly I hate to beat a dead horse but nothing changes until Douche Snyder is gone and that is never..... We have one faint hope. That is whoever we hire turns out to be a great coach and wins sooner than later, at which point Danny sits back n smiles and orders BA to do the same. It would have to happen organically and by a sheer stroke of luck when Snyder hires someone. |

Haskins was a unique player in college. He played such a limited amount of games, but played so well. It is unusual to see someone so good but with such a small sample size. If they didn’t take him at 15 he would have probably been gone before they got another chance. So I don’t think we “blew” the pick. I think it is just typical Redskin luck that of all the quarterbacks who have been drafted high and plugged in as starters over the last few years that we got the one who only played 14 games in college...... |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Is there any chance that Bill Callahan becomes the HC next year? Say if he were to somehow get the team to finish "respectable" at 7-9 or 8-8?
Does anyone know if Callahan even has interest in being the HC next season? |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Well it is that time again, although this turn seemed a bit overdue. Gruden was terrible at calling plays, and terrible at selecting his staff. He failed miserably at selecting a DC. He was horrible at halftime adjustments. So imo he was the wrong guy, up against Dan and Bruce or not. Who will the next guy be? Who donyou want it to be? I cant stop thinking Urban Meyer. He isn’t currently coaching and Haskins and McLaurin are a draw for him.
Does it even matter though? Will DS and BA say all the right things about team control and than pull their strings from yachts and luxury boxes? Will the new HC have the insight to let DS know BA has to go?
I'm betting someone from Ohio State, who was the QB coach there when Haskins was there? |
Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
If Haskins is a project, which by all means it looks like he is, then it was a bad pick. On a bad team you need that #15 pick to be playing. Instead he's playing behind a couple of cast offs who may be out of the league this time next year. Callahan today seemed like he wan't in a rush to play him and said he wasn't playing him against a pathetic football team that's tanking.
This one is on Dan if it doesn't work out. And he will take no responsibility for it if it doesn't. |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Relax on the Haskins bust talk. No one is performing well outside of Tress Way and two good games from McLaurin. There’s no realistic opportunity for success for our QBs this year.
TEs and RBs have virtually no production outside of CT junk yards. OLine is a mess right now with Scherff playing poorly because of injuries. Penn looks like he is starting to breakdown. Jay had no intention of playing Haskins and didn’t do anything to invest in his development. I’m not grading Haskins on anything that goes on the rest of the year. This isn’t a good situation to be in. OConnell isn’t McVay. With that said, Dwayne needs snaps! Get the kid on a plan and roll him out week 9 when things settle for a few weeks. |
Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
If there is one thing that interests me is not seeing Gruden’s predictable shit play calling and offense. Maybe see some I formation, maybe a FB. Not go immediately to three WR’s all the time. Be less predictable. Run the ball, be balanced. Play action.

My question is this: with BA and Snyder still running the show and their horrible record - what serious NFL HC (outside the organization) would come here?
Just a guy who wants to make $5 mill a year for five years and knowing he will have a piss poor win/loss record at the end to show for it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

SVP nailed it last night on his one big thing segment, look it up if you haven't seen it yet.
20 years of this garbage, nothing is changing, the Skins are who they are. I stopped investing much emotionally a few years ago, I used to watch every single snap, now if they fall behind I turn it off or turn to a better game. Or if better plans come up I'll record the game and go back and watch it after (which I rarely do since they're just not worth watching most of the time). Haven't bought any Skins merch in at least 2 years either. At this point I look forward to the Mets season much more than the Skins. Sucks but it is what it is. Snyder has wrecked this team. |

The Skins are way worse than Miami because Miami has accepted what they are are is doing what they have to do to get better. The Skins are still in denial that they are garbage and from what Bruce said yesterday, the organization thinks they are close to being good. Until the Skins stop lying to themselves and their fans nothing will change. |

Even though 3 picks in a little more than a half are a disaster, I did not see him staring down receivers, fleeing the pocket before pressure, and making one read and if that is covered taking off running. |

I don't get this at all. I'm not the biggest fan of hiring retreads but GW while here was pretty damn good. He was a big reason the team made the playoffs twice. He had the best defenses since Snyder took over. The defense was never as bad as it is now under GW. He may be a little rough and tough to deal with but I don't care. Bruce definitely won't want him but maybe Snyder will. |

Pretty sure his hatred for Danny Boy exceeds what we feel for him. |
