Nothing in Chico's post even referenced Obama. Not sure what your obsession with Obama is anytime someone mentions Trump. Nothing in your link makes what Chico's post said untrue. And nothing in his post takes anything positive away from what Obama did. You get defensive about Obama even when no one says anything bad about him. But here's some more info you will just call bullshit and post some Huffpost article. ............................in other accomplishments by trump! https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-national-debt-increase-3-trillion-first-three-years-presidency-1483660 NATIONAL DEBT INCREASED BY $3 TRILLION DURING DONALD TRUMP'S THREE YEARS AS PRESIDENT Nearly four years after then-presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would eliminate the federal debt in eight years, the deficit has since risen by more than 16 percent under his presidency. On Tuesday, attorney George Conway, a frequent Trump critic and husband of White House Special Counsel Kellyanne Conway, pointed out that three years into Trump's first term as president, the national debt increased by $3 trillion, bringing it to over $23 trillion now. Conway cited figures from the National Debt Tweets in his tweet. |

It is absolutely unacceptable that he added that to our debt. I never even here him talking about the deficits or debt either. That is a failure on his part. I know he can't reduce it himself, but he ran on it as something he would do, and has ignored it altogether. Terrible. |

Federal government has 3 main roles imo:
1. National security 2. Promoting policies that promote a robust economy 3. Budget The 1st issue both parties are war mongers, the 2nd issue the parties mostly disagree on, and the 3rd issue they're all in cahoots to spend spend spend and screw us all over. |

Taking the American taxpayer for a ride......................
https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/trump-super-bowl-214856290.html Taxpayers Get $3.4 Million Tab So Trump Can Host Super Bowl Party For His Club Members Taxpayers shelled out another $3.4 million to send President Donald Trump to Florida this weekend so he could host a Super Bowl party for paying guests at his for-profit golf course. The president’s official schedule shows him spending two and a half hours Sunday evening at a “Super Bowl LIV watch party” at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Tickets sold for $75 each, but were only available to members of the club — the initiation fee for which reportedly runs about $450,000, with annual dues costing several thousands of dollars more. n response to a query, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham defended Trump’s trip and attacked HuffPost:" The president never stops working, and that includes when he is at the Winter White House.” Her phrase “Winter White House” refers to Mar-a-Lago, the for-profit resort in Palm Beach that is several miles east of the golf course and that doubled its initiation fee from $100,000 to $200,000 after Trump was elected in 2016. Trump frequently mingles with guests at social events there. Trump promised during his presidential campaign that he would separate himself from his businesses if he won. However, he reneged on that vow, as well as on his promise to release his tax returns. |
Re: Trump Accomplishments
I am un-retiring for 1 post. I just can't enjoy these SOTU deals. It's the same partisan crap. I'm 14 minutes in and Trump has already annoyed me. You can discuss what you think you have done well without bashing Obama. Don't agree with Obama on most things but I would drink a beer or 12 with him and watch sports, and he did hand Trump a smooth transition. I want limited government because both sides are full of idiots that get rich off of us.
Not to mention if Trump says he likes dijon mustard one side cheers like it's their 1st beer and the other side stews like they just ate a rotten lemon. A bunch of bought and paid for robots. #termlimits |
Re: Trump Accomplishments
Shit, 2nd post now.
Stop saying I and say we. Even if you literally did it yourself (not saying he did) say WE anyways. Fuck me, put some effort into uniting everyone. Doubt it would make a difference anyways, people in both parties are all group thinkers, but control what you can control. |

Obama would bash Republicans more often than any other Democrat I can remember, he was still blaming George Bush even when he was at the end of his reign. Two wrongs don't make a right, but I suppose Obama had it coming. |
Re: Trump Accomplishments
A truthful SOTU would have begun
- My fellow Americans, the state of our union is fractured. Our economy is strong, our nation's military is strong, but our people are strongly divided. We see truth through a divided lens. And then moved to ideals that have united us for the past 250 years. And why both sides need to move beyond personality. It would have been a tough speech, practically impossible for Trump to deliver, but honest to where the country politically really is. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Okay ... you obviously have it all figured out for you. Every person gets to live in their own world and that is totally cool. I cant tell you what to do or think and what I think is only right for me, and what you think is only right for you. You seem very confident your world doesnt need any more evolving or new experiences or potential thoughts. And thats cool. Youve effectively closed your borders to any new thoughts or ideas that dont conform to your world's long held beliefs. And thats totally cool .. for you, in your world. For me ... I am open to considering Obama "constantly bad mouthed 1/2 of the population" but I would require actual quotes and proof ... and not your world's conclusions .. which seem pre biased and pre-conceived with the only question is not "where do we go" but "how do we get to hating liberals". Thats one of the things I love about America. Every person gets to set the rules for their own world. Thats freedom and privilege to me. |

"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me – because they want to give something back. They know they didn't – look, if you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something – there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.) If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don't do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires." Obama, July 13, 2012 -------------- I could see how someone could take offense to someone saying they didnt build their own company or their own companys success is not based on the owners hard work or intelligence. A person should take a lot of pride in running a small business. And perhaps may be sensitive to others, who no nothing of their own personal story, to say they dont get 100% of the credit for what they built. How would that person know how much blood or sweat or the risks of the debt the owner had to take on to make it happen. It seems taking that interpretation of what he said would be ignoring the part where he said a few sentences later that ... "The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together." I think reasonable minds would agree small business in America are not each on their own isolated island but each small business benefits from being part of a well run society and economy. in the most basic rudimentary sense ... we, as small businesses, are reliant on customers and clients and the roads (or internet) that connect us to our customers and the marketplace. I certainly couldnt do my job and make income if there werent cars on the road, laws for driving cars, doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, courthouses, judges, balliffs etc .. Obama is clearly talking about the help that we each got (or should have got) along the way. he mentions a great teacher as an example. I do think we all have benefited from someone helping us, showing us how it is done, perhaps encouraging us, giving us our first job or giving us a business loan etc ... Thank you for the example BB. (I believe you said you are not a trump supporter so im not going to parade the lengthy tweets form him specifically attacking half the country or businesses etc) |

Obama made it a federal regulation for school children to be able to use the bathroom they identify with. My daughter is 7 and a boy in her school wears dresses sometimes or a sparkly glove. In my own personal heart, I hope that kid gets to use the bathroom he is most comfortable with. As for adults .. I dont 100% know where I stand. To be honest, I havent been confronted with that situation where a man walked into a womans bathroom when my daughter was in there. I honestly dont know what i would do until i was put in that spot. I try not take the most controversial thing from a political group and use that as an example of all of their ideas or beliefs though. I imagine a lot of moderate dems are not okay with making any bathroom open for any person. There are many moderate dems and moderate republicans ... and i imagine they agree with each other on a lot of things. |
Re: Trump Accomplishments
It seems I can't get to most websites that list the telephone book long Obama's anti-Republican rhetoric without turning off my ad blocker, so I will give up on that task. I have data capped internet with 15 GB of priority data a month and a huge chunk of that gets used on a website I get work from. If I go over I get throttled to 600 Kbps for the rest of the billing period and a lot of modern websites run poorly at those speeds.
I understand people whose gender identification and sexuality deviate from the masses are a cause of genetics, and most I have met wish they were like everybody else. I just don't think it is right to make most of the general population uncomfortable trying to make a small percentage of people comfortable. It seems like minority rule in the USA. For the record I am going to vote for Biden tomorrow and I am one of those middle aged white Republicans a lot of liberals, even in here wish death upon. Strange how liberals claim Republicans are the party of hate when I have yet to see a Republican say they are glad people with old school beliefs are dying off. |

Pulling out of Afghanistan. I sincerely and honestly thank Trump for pulling out of Afghanistan and Syria. These were endless occupations and I think a vast majority of Americans wanted a more limited endless military commitment to areas like Afghanistan. Obama and Trump ran on a platform of less occupation and bringing troops home.
I will say this .... im 100% convinced if Obama or any Dem did a sudden pull out from Syria or Afghanistan with an agreement to release 5000 taliban soldiers like Trump has ... republicans, fox news talking heads and some people here would be demanding he be removed from office, talking about how he just spit on the graves of the 2,441 US troops who lost their lives there since 2001. Instead we get a muted response from Graham and Rubio that is buried down below the fold on Fox News. No reporting of the 2 soldiers just killed days after the supposed peace treaty and buried article from Fox on how Trump is the first US president ever to talk w the Taliban. Both parties suffer from hypocrisy. This time its the Republicans that are wearing it. |

Re: Trump Accomplishments
I consider Hillary the most "despicable" of them all.
Many/most political "contests" have criticism of the opponents. But I remember NO election where a candidate denigrated the constituency of the opposing party until this one. I was a Democrat and then switched to Republican in 1981. Until 2016 I felt one could have a reasonable conversation between people of the different parties. Now all the Republicans I know are afraid of telling anyone they're Republican. That is not at all true for the Democrats I know. Hillary has single-handedly made communication impossible by reducing Republicans to "despicables" in the eyes of Democrats. And, as well all know, despicable people don't need to be listened to. As far as why I became a Republican: in 1981, I was working as an actuary and heard all the partisan rhetoric about the Tax Act of 1981. But because of what I was doing at work, I actually had to read the entire document. When I was done, I realized that the Democrats portrayal of it was extremely distorted (for their own ends) and the Republican portrayal was quite loyal to what the act said. Between that and the Democrats ridiculous demands that the tax system should not be reformed (no movement of tax brackets with inflation?) I could no longer be a Democrat. Hillary's "despicable" remark made it impossible to vote for her, as it also reminded me of the Inquisition. ("You will believe like I do or you're dead or garbage.") In addition, I lived in Boston from 1975-1989 and saw the beginning of the career of John Kerry. I remember thinking at the time that he was an enemy of the U.S. (I was still a Democrat at that time.) Whenever he traveled he always made sure to visit our worst enemies and do photo ops with them. He also always spoke well of them. Combine that with the fact that the Obama administration started up relations with Cuba who had tried to kill our family and my father in particular (bomb under his desk that someone else set off) because he was the Chief Consul at our town in Venezuela, and that one of my best friends in elementary school lost his father (an ambassador) to assassination by the Cubans: this action also made it impossible to vote Democratic. Maybe if there had been a change in regime, but it was still run by the same family (the even-worse brother of Fidel, Raul.) Years ago I had great hopes for Ross Perot's new party until Patrick Buchanon abused the rules to get the nomination. I was hoping for a new centrist party. In the end, I was happy Trump won last time since it would (hopefully) give the Republicans a message that we don't want religion controlling the platform. My hope was that an old-style Republican party would re-emerge, focusing on smaller government, and not controlled by the religious "hard-liners." In my view, Trump later wasn't allowed to do anything from the get-go, thus not allowing the voters from seeing what he might do. This I felt was due to the "sore-loser" status of the Democrats. For the magazine "Science", they put in a physicist as the head some time before Trump became president. That physicist was, however, a former member of congress (Democrat) and had been tagged as one of the 17 most liberal members of Congress. (I am not aware of anyone so political having been put in a position of control there before.) So now the magazine is inundated with covers of hungry children and climate change. Many of the articles are now written by journalists, not scientists. They organized a march within 3 months of Trump taking office. In the meantime, Obama was getting a Nobel Peace Prize at about the same time in his term. (Why? I don't know. I thought we were NOT to be judged by the color of our skin.) They are taking lots of advertising from China, and (almost) never criticize them for anything. The magazine now has a lot of the space dedicated to politically active topics, which wasn't the case before, and the scientific part has been greatly reduced. So if they want to look for foreign influence peddling, shouldn't they also look for China meddling in our elections? As far as Hillary, I got to meet a guy from Jamaica who works for some banking group covering all the Americas. He told me the Clintons are despised in Haiti, where they did really no good for the people but made it look like they did. He asked my why the Democrats are so focused on helping people who break the law. I had never looked at it that way. In any event, he showed me how things appear from outside the country. Sorry if this is rambling, but I'm stuck in this "quarantine"... Final note: I don't like the motives of a lot of the latinos here. My wife told me that she would have had nothing to do with those types in Mexico. (She is from Mexico and is only here because of me.) Where families have a financially-responsible 2 to 3 kids in Mexico, they have far more when they are here because the government will help. I have 6, but ask no help. I would like to have the state pay for some of their homeschooling, however, as we play (plenty of) property taxes and the schools in P.G. are pathetic. When we were in the hospital having the last one, a woman from "Casa de Maryland", an agency for latinos that receives quite a bit of money from the state, was almost fighting with my wife, telling her that she should divorce "her husband" so that she could be a single mother and receive state benefits. When they saw me, however, they immediately stopped and quickly left. There are many events that I could recount, as I DON'T judge anyone by the color of their skin (my wife is the darkest in her family, which her family makes a big deal about), but by their actions, and so have been in many places where I have heard many things (frequently as the only non-latino at a latino party). I cannot, however, ignore trends, and so will generalize, as we all do, whether we admit it or not. It is crucial, however, that whatever generalizations one makes about a group never clouds one's judgement about the individuals one meets, and it is further of the utmost importance that all receive a fair chance to be treated equally. (I must also add that I became friends with a lot of the black students when I was at M.I.T., and was able to get a view of some of the difficulties they faced, but this email is long enough as is. So, hopefully, no one will rip me a new one for this post, but since all my posts up to now have been ignored, I may be pretty safe after all. |
