I'd go Cosell, Madden, Michaels, Summerall

I have to pull Witten out and put in Stephen A. Smith, to me him and Bayless are cut from the same cloth. I immediately tune out people that think yelling the loudest and longest is a good delivery to make a point. Both of them also often deliver their message in an angry tone.

Steven A is all a character act imo and he is kinda funny sometimes. Bayless, like Cowherd, is simply ridiculous and is a trolls for the sake of being a troll

Re: Who is on your Redskins Mt Rushmore?

Baugh-Was the face of the franchise as it moved to DC plus basically invented forward pass

Mitchell (Bobby not Brian)-Helped the Redskins racially integrate in a time when DC was still a southern town.

Gibbs-Laid the foundation for hard nose football, work ethic and first Super Bowl

Allen- After not making the playoffs since 1945 took the team to the playoffs in 5 of 7 years and pretty much integral in the Dallass-Skins rivalry.

Hmm only two players? Probably not the best Rushmore. I tried to stick with the idea of Mt. Rushmore and choosing individuals that represented the most important events in team history.

It's the offseason Ruh, everybody got their Mt. Rushmore out of the way, it was only natural we started discussing our Mt. Rushmore of dog shit.

Who is on your Redskins Mt Rushmore?

On the one I would expect to see if it was actually built - Beathard, Gibbs, Riggins, Baugh.
But on my own personal Mt Rushmore Id add Manley and scratch Baugh. Obviously never saw Baugh play and I know Manley has too many skeletons in his closet.

My mt rushmore of dogshit would be four Dan Snyder heads because he is literally directly responsible for any other head of shit you could put on the mt rushmore of shit heads.

I cant believe nobody mentioned Beathard even as a secondary. Dude was as responsible for those superbowls as Gibbs. Even 91 were mainly his guys. He left, it left.

With only 4 spots it’s hard to fit in a GM over coaches or players, as great as Beathard was

I dont know man, when I think about this franchise it is those super bowl years that stand out obviously and I feel pretty confident in saying that without Beathard they never happen.

Biggest omission so far?

I'd go for Ray Flaherty. :)

They do have a guideline of one HC, one QB, and three non quarterback players.

OK, then using that formula:

Joe Gibbs, HC - Greatest Redskins HC.
Sammy Baugh, QB - Changed the game of NFL football.
Bobby Mitchell - Great player who helped to change the society. Represents the offensive players.
Darrell Green - Great man on and off the field. Represents the defensive players.
Russ Grimm - Represents the legendary Hogs and all Redskins linemen.

All of these men are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Wish I could take the credit but I think I heard Kevin Sheehan talking about it on his podcast a few weeks ago

Read my post. Snyder is responsible for all other possible dogshit heads. Lol. So he gets all four.

I read and understood your post. Unless you are the world's foremost authority on Dogshit Mount Rushmores, I beg to differ with you on at least one of the busts on this one.

BTW, if what I just typed above isn't the most pathetic off-season with the possibility of no season at all reply to a post then I can't imagine what that post might look like.

Couldn't narrow down to 4 between Monk and Green. First 3 are locks.

Re: Who is on your Redskins Mt Rushmore?

Im 41 so Ive never seen Jurgensen or Baugh play. Baugh always seems to get the nod over Sonny but I never really understood why.

Baugh played exclusively for the Skins from 1937 to 1952. 187 tds, 203 ints and 21k in passing yards. He also punted. Baugh had 4 all pro years. But there were between 8-10 teams total during the span of 1937 (1st all pro) and 1943 (last all pro)

Sonny was with the Skins from 1964 to 1974 and his skins only stats were 179 tds, 116 ints with 22k passing yards. Sonny had 1 all pro year (w the eagles -- 14 teams in the league total).

Neither was a runner which surprised me bc I would have thought Baugh would be a runner. Both were not playing in the passing era though I assume Sonny was in a more pass happy league than Baugh.

---------------------

Sonny gets my nod ... if for nothing else than to enjoy hearing the old drunk guy talk on the radio during games. I know most found it annoying but I found it endearing.

Wasnt he snoring during the game one time? lol

Riggo

Possibly Doug Williams depending on how his executive job goes (does the team start winning?)

Haynesworth may be the Absolute WORST FA signing of ALL TIME. Taking in account the Uber-costly contract versus production. Certainly for this franchise. Possibly in the NFL. Contract vs total lack of production

I’d take Monk over Green. Maybe I’m completely wrong, and PLEASE someone correct me if this ISN’T true, but I’ve heard Green wasn’t actually the nicest guy. NOT about fund-raising for local charities, just about personality vs. personality in a close contest.

If we're picking for THAT mountain...

Albert Haynesworth
Michael Westbrook

Heath Shuler
Adam Archuleta

Re: Who is on your Redskins Mt Rushmore?

The original post has it right...

Baugh
Gibbs
Riggins
Green

Green is the only debatable but you probably need to recognize defense and he is clearly the #1 defensive player.
