Come on man. Nobody is trying to scare anyone. 200,000 deaths should be scary regardless of who writes what about it. Our impatience and paranoia about this being some sort of fear tactic is why the virus is running rampant in this country unlike any other. Sometimes there is just a shitty situation. This is a terribly shitty situation. The longer we fight the protocol the longer it will go on. That is the ironic thing. It isn’t the person going to the game that I fear for, because like you said it is their choice. But after said event those 25,000 people go back into their communities. The rest of those people who chose not to go are now at risk that it could have been a super spreader event. It isn’t conspiracy or fear tactic it is just science. We keep fighting what the doctors and scientists tell us and we will keep dying at a higher rate than the rest of the world. If we all Follow their advice we will be done with this shit sooner, but instead we are fighting it.
Also when was the last time 200,000 people died in plane crashes in 7 months? Or car crashes? To your point though if that did occur you can bet your ass i wouldn’t be flying or fucking driving until they figured out wtf was going on.
my point was the article has no truths to it. 'Fan who attended Chiefs- Texans game tests positive for Covid' ... Really? The person that wrote it could have also said that that person also tested positive for going to the grocery store. There was no point mentioning the game at all except to get eyeballs on it. That''s has how this entire Covid deal has been covered. If you turn on CNN right now they have a Covid death tracker. If you actually believe that 200,000 have died in the states directly from Covid then I have oceanfront property to sell you in Kansas. |

Re: Fans at Fed Ex
It's so funny cause the LA mayor- Garcetti ( did his dad prosecute OJ?) was actually in the streets, side by side w/ thousands of the protesters - many were not even wearing masks- but he won't let people be spread out at a game??? WTF. What a straight up phony son of a bitch. Where were the possible spreading of Covid stories about that?? He is right there not wearing a mask himself with thousands of idiots all around him. Go look it up, it's on You Tube. Same thing with that weak ass mayor in Minneapolis.
The media and these liberal mayors just get under my fucking skin- and I have worked in media ( public relations, marketing) for 23 years. I see the bullshit, but keep my mouth shut to stay in business. Doom and gloom sells, the truth does not. |

Hate to break it to you but there are plenty of people out there with the flu right now. Even though flu season is the fall and winter you can get it year round. |
Re: Fans at Fed Ex
I am just sharing my story, I understand it is one person's and not necessarily indicative of the whole.
Around Sep 1st, I had chills and nightsweats and that Tuesday I slept 14 hours straight. Typically I sleep about 5 to 6 at most. I am 53, from March to July I lost 50 lbs, but still am in the overweight category for BMI. I live a fairly typical low middle income caucasian male lifestyle. By the time I took the test I was definitely feeling better. I got the results back in 3 days that it was positive. The county called each day from there until they told me I was good to go. That was on the 10th. I have had no symptoms since then, but on my own I went and did a re-test on the 16th. Guess what, it came back positive. Is anyone else NOT shocked. So should I quarantine for the rest of my life, because clearly I could be a carrier for the foreseeable future. Oh let me add, my son who lives with me was then also required to get a test even though he had no symptoms, it also came back positive, And for him - a 23yo auto mechanic, he was told to stay away from his job until he has a negative test. He took a second one the same time I did, and though he has not told me his results yet, I imagine that it will be positive also. Again, one person's story - but it is an actual person's story and not a media narrative from either side. |

Had we done this back in April this mess would be in the rearview mirror but unfortunately people are selfish and cant/wont do something for the greater good. |
Re: Fans at Fed Ex
Glad u are good CR and I agree Irish... Mask up and get past this
|
Re: Fans at Fed Ex
CR - first, I wish you a speedy recovery. Second, whomever called to say you were ok a week after testing positive committed malpractice. That determination can not be made for at least two weeks which is the incubation period. And a percentage of people will maintain a viral load for longer although they are generally not contagious after two weeks (typically, people are shedding dead viral particles at that point). So you don’t need to shelter forever and I would imagine that perhaps by now if you took another test, assuming you aren’t symptomatic and not one of the rare “long haulers” it is probably going to be negative. Please take care of yourself.
And separately, Irish is right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes that part is easy, masks and social distancing is the least we can do and I've never understood the drama around that. Balancing things like keeping people healthy and re-opening businesses and how soon can we get back to somewhat normal is the trickier part I was referring to. |

It is trickier than it needs to be because selfish people keep making things difficult for all of us. I have a friend who works at NIH, she puts on the biohazard suit like Dustin Hoffman did in Outbreak, to study the virus and those who have it. She takes her data and compiles it with others data and briefs Dr. Fauci on the findings. This isn't made up and it is as deadly as the numbers say. The selfish people who wont contribute to the greater good frustrate her to no end. |

The spin alot of the right is trying to put on this is that the left is over reacting and making a bigger deal out of this. Inflating numbers, trying to scare you and all because they want to make Trump look bad. The FACT of the matter is that Trump knew (and now it is on tape and we can stop the fake news excuse) very early on how bad this was and could have been a hero. NOBODY would have blamed him for Covid. Instead he tried to downplay it and hoped it would go away. He had a chance to rise to the occasion by simply warning us and letting science do its job. Simple. He could have said he did a great job, probably would have been re-elected. Instead his ego and inability to believe others know better got in the way and we have one of the worst outbreaks in the world. Full stop.

But instead Yahoo has to mention that he was at the game so therefore he got it there. Let me ask you this, how come there are is no mention of masks during the protest? But as soon as someone wants to go to a game where people can be spread out- nope. You don't see the blatant hypocrisy???? As far as CNN is concerned, they have no actual facts about actual deaths from Covid. They just don't. As far as Trump, he's an asshole and I am not for him. Re: Fans at Fed Ex
I will throw my 2 cents in about fans at Fed Ex:
This year it is obvious that we will not have any fans. I doubt very seriously if we have an NFL season next year, that they will allow fans. I think that by 2022 after you have had a years' worth of vaccines, they may allow very limited seating / attendance. I think we have to come to grips with the idea that our sporting events / concerts, etc.. will NEVER go back to the way they were before. Not because of laws or governors, etc., but because i think your average person will be so scared of getting sick from anything, that they will not go out very much ever again. For example, if we build a new stadium, it would have capacity for possibly 5-10K people TOPS, we will never again see something where there is 100K fans packed in, i think that will forever be different in this country. Just trying to be a realist because i think holding on to the idea that things will ever go "back to normal" in this country will just upset a lot of people when they realize the life they knew is gone forever. |
Re: Fans at Fed Ex
There was just 15,000 at the Chiefs/Texans opener... to think people are afraid to go out is just silly. How many attended Sturgis? Like over 360,000 or something

I think the stadiums would be as full as the teams open them. Maybe at the very extreme numbers, like a 3-13 team trying to fill a 90K seat stadium, there would be trouble. I am pretty sure teams would sell out 30-50k seats each and every week.

My daughter is an ICU nurse and she tells me they label covid deaths to anyone they can. Its not her job its what she sees. A guy dying from cancer gets covid and dies as predicted its a covid death. Guy had covid and was doing fine until he had a heart attack from other health issues and dies. Labeled under covid death. If you don't think this isn't political then your just ignoring other facts. |
Re: Fans at Fed Ex
Hogan is now allowing restaurants in MD to 75% capacity. If you can go to inside restaurants then how come you can't go to Fed Ex where you can spread people out? This makes no sense to me.

Re: Fans at Fed Ex
I really think, as has been said earlier, it is a blessing in disguise that the WFT didnt have fans in the stands, DEFINITELY for the Eagles game, and for the early part of the season at least. Let the team start fresh next season. New name, New hope.

Ah, "greater good"...the Adolf Hitler argument. I cannot believe there are still people who can't see the political manipulation we're being subjected to. Here in Pennsylvania, our Governor has done a fine job of choosing winners and losers. His own company and campaign donors have been granted waivers to stay open. He has punished counties by not moving their "color scale" for no other reason than they spoke up against his decisions. He marched with the Black Lives Matter rioters multiple times for a photo op while now allowing others to assemble or people to go to churches. Our Secretary of Health pulled his OWN mother out of a nursing home just before he and the Governor started sending COVID patients to nursing homes. They've stopped talking about deaths because they were not happening, so they started reporting cases. The cases are not happening at a rate to justify keeping everyone shut down until the election, so now it's all about the number of tests taken. And yes, not reported by CNN, but the CDC themselves said the actual COVID deaths are not 180,000, but around 6-8,000. The goals of the leftists are seeing success. Citizens are turning against their fellow citizens, looking at your neighbors like they are out to kill you with the disease. People are getting violent over others not falling in line with the Government's (big G) orders. States do not have to do any enforcement, brainwashed citizens are doing it for them. Don't just look at this assault, listen to the reporter and witnesses: "You have to wear a mask in and keep it on." "People should wear a mask!" Then no one bothered to help the poor old woman. Why? Afraid of getting within 6 feet of another human? The mask isn't the issue here yet everyone keeps talking about that. People shouldn't assault other people. [YT]aKZiILSGoc0[/YT] |
Good!!
https://www.foxbusiness.com/sports/fedex-shareholder-washington-football-team-name-change
Absolutely. A company who plays politics faces consequences. I'll actively try to avoid using Fed-Ex from here out. I really hope Joe Gibbs drops them as a NASCAR sponsor. Nike has been crossed off my list for years. Aside from their horrible politics, every pair I've had has lost it's sole...ask Zion Williamson about that. I've never had New Balance (my new favorite brand) or Adidas do that. With any luck, the NFL will see it's dropping ratings and revenues and fire Goodell. The new Commissioner hired needs to be a no-nonsense, no politics leader. He or she needs to come in and wipe the slate clean...eliminate all politics from the sport and hope fans will forgive and return. Apoligies and amends need to be made to the fans for the way they've acted and ruined the game that we love. Uniforms should no longer be a statement of expression, make them UNIFORM again. Disrespect of the nation that pays them millions to play a game for a living should not be tolerate. The politics of the current NFL WILL kill the league. Learn from the NBA's example, they're on their deathbed for their "wokeness", obsession with BLM and affair with Communist China. They've had to sell ad space on their jerseys to survive financially. The WNBA has been worse. Those women are being beyond disrespectful to a level of absurdity. They're not just peacefully kneeling, they're making a selfish spectacle with rehearsed displays of protest. No wonder that league is practically dead. |
